  1. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 09:16 AM) What's with the avatar tossing up gang signs, anyway? Dumbass in the front rockin the forks. That's Derrick Rose.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) How about less waste of space in the financial regulating sector and more teachers? Sigh
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 12:35 AM) no. Dude is washed up. I'd rather try and develop some talent behind cutler. This. If Hanie ever steps in and throws a 3 touchdown game, someone will suddenly trade you a first rounder for him.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) So Jared Weaver is the Angels ace now, and they're not going to fall off at all? Mmmk If Brandon Wood gives them anything and Matsui takes to the DH role, their lineup could be even better than it was last year despite losing Figgins and Guerrero. Their bullpen could also be better, since Shields ought to be back this year.
  5. You guys do realize that the reason why the President is wearing a jacket at all is to cover up the Kevlar vest, right? Especially for this guy, who's somewhat skinny.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 12:46 AM) They just did a really interesting piece on Rios on MLBN. They showed some video of this year versus last on his hand position. Apparently he has dropped his starting hand position to cut down on a lot of the excess movement in his swing. This is just Greg Walker trying to get him to lift and pull better.
  7. The Group "Wikileaks" has seemingly obtained and posted online video of what certainly appears to be the killing of 2 Reuters reporters and multiple Iraqi civilians from a U.S. helicopter in 2007.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 06:26 PM) I'm not sure, but I thought a large chunk of that was a one time up front signing bonus, so I think he got a lot of it already. I think the way it was structured, it had a pretty small signing bonus, but a huge dollar amount if he stayed with their org, so that he'd be strongly rewarded for not ditching the Cubs after 2 seasons to try out for the NFL.
  9. Marshall and (Don't Call me Adam) Russell were solid for the Cubs out of their pen. Then...Samardzija came in. His ERA is now 108. Justin Berg allowed an inherited runner to score.
  10. I obsessively shop using coupons and rebates.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 06:18 PM) At what point does Samardjiza just quit pretending like baseball's going to work out for him? How long does that initial $10 million contract require him to stay in their org?
  12. QUOTE (Nyx81 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 06:02 PM) Thanks for putting up this video. I was only able to listen to the game on the radio. Knew I had to watch it by the reaction from our guys in the booth. Even B&B pretty pumped about Marks play. Top 3 play of the whole year one of them thought. Now I gotta wait to see Rios catch to end the game. Go Sox! There's no embed option at MLB pages but here's the link to the video.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Jones actually hit righties better than lefties last year. Jones is also a neutral hitter in his career, he's not much better or worse against pitchers from either side. Plus, with the way Rios looked today, it shouldn't be long before he's the full-time 5 hitter. Even with the splits (Quentin was very good against RHP in 2008 as well), I think breaking up the streak of 4 RH hitters we have at the middle of the order is the right one. 2b, Q, PK14, Rios, Jones/Kotsay. You're just asking for trouble against a funky ROOGY.
  14. Of course, that jacket is bullet proof.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 05:38 PM) Zambrano the Ace hasnt materialized in a long time. He was a dynamic #3 for them at one point though. LOL, that's a hilarious way to look at it when I think about what happened to their 1 and 2.
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 05:36 PM) Ozzie hitting Kotsay 5th was a mental mistake. Against a RHP it's still the right move until Teahen shows he's not terrible.
  17. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) I'm not sure about his baseball evaluation skills. I know his basketball eval skills are lacking though. He's a guy who drafted guys like Corey Benjamin and Stacey King's of the world over better talent that was available. And yet, Scottie Pippen was just announced as a basketball HOF inductee.
  18. Derek Lowe getting belted as well. 2 run HR for Ramirez. 8-5 Braves.
  19. Just caught the highlight of Heyward's HR on Gameday. I absolutely loved (I think it was) Chip Caray's home run call. "Swing and a drive. Belted right. WELCOME TO THE SHOOOOOOOOOOW!" Heyward had a really solid "I've done this before" style HR trot and arrival at the plate too.
  20. 8-3 after Prado scores on a Zambrano throwing error and McCann homer. Zambrano's day ends 4 outs into the season.
  21. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) I just realized why i did that. Justin Heyward is the lead singer of the Moody Blues. That band's been on my name for a while. Oh no, the Moody Blues! Run!
  22. I'd like to note this because i just remembered it. Jake Peavy starts our next game.
  23. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) This dude is gonna be good. What is he like 21. Not even 21 yet. 20. Turns 21 in August.
  24. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) He's the starting DH on my fantasy team. I was typing really fast. In both threads?
  25. FWIW, Marlon Byrd also hit a 3 run HR off of Lowe.
