  1. I'll call your lawyer. I assume you're on one of those pay-in-advance plans?
  2. I know that's Kaperbole...but seriously, there's no easy way or perfectly successful formula to build a working O-Line. If there was, everyone would have one.
  3. For once, I don't think the Bears are in all that bad of shape at the skill positions, at least if they could stay healthy. It's the trenches where they're losing these games.
  4. Green Bay's O-line is loaded with high draft picks.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 09:42 AM) I'm with you. I don't see a team really wanting Konerko at 12 million dollars a year, unless we pick up someone else's crappy contract. Once i looked at the FA 1b, I was able to convince myself otherwise. There is literally 1 starting FA 1b on the market, Laroche. 2 if you think Nick Johnson can stay healthy or you're happy with Abrey Huff, but otherwise, that's it. The rest of them belong at DH. Delgado, Johnson, Thome, and a bunch of people with OPS's that a decent pitcher can beat. There are teams that just flat out need a bat at 1b, and if they don't land Laroche, it's a hole. The Mets. The Braves.
  6. Can't win em all unfortunately. O-line's been a problem 3 years straight, gotta do something about it.
  7. I'd like to offer up a different perspective from this article.
  8. Although, there was an overturned call in a Colts playoff game a few years ago that was quite a bit worse.
  9. QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 09:22 AM) The link doesn't seem to be working. Can someone please fix this? Thank you! It's fixed. Not sure exactly why/how you're doing it, but you're using the wrong code when you insert a URL. You're marking it with "topic". The correct code inside of the open bracket is is url="http://blogs.suntimes.com/whitesox/2009/11/williams_details_thinking_behi.html" followed by a /url inside brackets at the end of the link text.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 08:05 AM) Sox management also said he saved us. If you don't like Pods fine, but I think he is a good ballplayer and we coud do worse then bringing him back. The post that sparked that response was talking about JD, not Pods.
  11. Xylocarp. That's what gives Brad Miller his powers.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 07:41 PM) For the Gonzalez, you would have to think of him at least as a #2, if not a #1. Which may well be how people are starting to see him. Including the Sox.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 07:38 PM) The thing is, many teams could top that. Depending on what your scouts think of Hudson.
  14. Gilbert Arenas just became the 18th NBA player with 12 turnovers in a single game.
  15. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 07:34 PM) THATS f***ING BULLs*** Honestly, could you call a timeout, catch, and shoot in 0.6 seconds? I couldn't.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 07:21 PM) lol you would be surprised at the s*** I see people reporting to the FBI. Some of them just amount to "I saw a brown guy doing something besides standing still and minding his business." Doesn't usually involve a marine and a tire iron though.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 07:09 PM) Thabeet was looking awful anyways, correct? I have no idea, frankly. The only thing we've heard from the Grizzlies is Iverson tantrums.
  18. Taj is 5/8 with 10 points, 6 rebounds in 28 minutes and has a +16 on the day right now. He's not lighting the world on fire, but for a guy picked at the end of the first round, I can't complain one bit about what we're getting from him to start his career. Other topic: Thabeet broke his jaw. Both 1-2 picks from last year now have gone down.
  19. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 06:24 PM) 1 year out? Gonzalez would be under contract for 2011 as well. 2012 would be when you'd have to start worrying about who is going to play where, but it's kind of foolish to piss away at a chance to win it all in 2010 and 2011 because you're worried about what the 2012 team would look like. Actually I'd disagree there. In 2011, you'd have to worry about who's going to play 1b, who's going to be your closer, who's going to be your first lefty out of the pen. Yeah, we'd have a hell of a lineup, but I think that it would really evaporate rapidly. The issue is not what these guys will do when they come up, the issue is that you can't build a team right now, especially holding a couple of really large contracts, if you don't have counter-balancing young guys to put in. KW's pulled off a miracle here rebuilding the minor leagues to a point where we can legitimately compete for a long time. You trade everything except D2 for Gonzalez, and you're making a run for 1 year before your window closes.
  20. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 10, 2009 -> 05:54 PM) This: C Crap 1B Gonzalez 2B Crap SS Cabrera 3B Crap LF Blanks CF Crap RF Venable/Headley; Latos-Young-Correia-Richard-??? Or this: C Flowers 1B Blanks 2B Retherford SS Cabrera 3B Viciedo LF Headley CF Danks RF Venable; Latos-Hudson-Young-Correia-Richard And yet, people don't seem to consider what happens to the Sox lineup the same way. Do we not, 1 year out, wind up with that exact same "Crap" at 3 positions?
  21. Very tasty certain types of revenge can be if served at room temperature as well.
  22. Then you can be a little more subtle. Pee in a hallway or something like that.
