Out of 51 catchers with 200+ PAs last year his OPS was 5th.

I don't disagree with you, my point is that rick hahn's actions this offseason invalidate any of these ideas for how Rick Hahn can't possibly be responsible. People have spent 6 years trying to give him credit while blaming others, it literally makes no sense this offseason with his own actions.
-
One obvious and monstrous inconsistency - if Rick Hahn knew that was KWs limit, if it was the known price and the known limit, then why on Earth did Rick Hahn spend the offseason running his gigantic mouth about how they were going to add a middle of the order hitter? Why did Rick Hahn waste money on Machado's buddies? No one made him do any of that, and if he knew those limits could potentially cost him the player then he should have kept his mouth shut and work like a professional GM to do the best he could. If he lost the player, he lost. Instead he not only went into sales pitch mode, but he started making other moves that hurt his franchise and helped the Indians in particular. Even if KW forced the player moves out of some master plan (meaning RH is the single most toothless, powerless GM in baseball, and really should resign), poor little Ricky shoulda shut his mouth and acted like a professional GM. He did not.

Boston is up against the hard upper part of the luxury tax where they start losing draft picks and have to pay like a 50% overage penalty or something remarkable like that, they almost have to let him go unless they cut payroll elsewhere.

How is this ok to post?

So you can’t say no tear like you did, it was probably a fuzzy one in the middle. I do not have any better information on the rest and will not say they should have done surgery last year, but I will say you can’t say the one thing that you said.
-
I’m sorry but this is not nearly as open and shut as you suggest. Per what we have been told in this forum by our expert, assesssing the degree of a tear based on either physical examination or MRI is nowhere near this straightforward. The injury last summer was probably a partial tear, sometimes those are able to partially or fully heal with rest (see Tanaka) but not always, and assessing the exact degree of a tear without the surgery has been suggested to be very difficult. While rehab is always preferable if possible, you cannot simply say “there was no tear last year” as open and shut as you’re saying here. The MRI often can’t show that.

Gio was traded last season it should cost no draft pick compensation to sign him (And no I still don't want to, play the kids).

Isn't it obvious... The fact that a reasonable extension for him that buys out a year of FA is a good idea is why it won't happen.
-
As costly as a $30 million option year would be...losing Jiminez after 2026 is better than losing him after 2025.
-
Ah time to bring back the old trademark: Rick Hahn's Decisions can't possibly be Rick Hahn's Fault ™
-
If it's guaranteed then of course not, but the guarantee would probably be something close to $30 million - that's still unprecedented but totally reasonable for this player. Frankly, if he wanted $100 million guaranteed, I'll put $100 million guaranteed through 2029 on the table right now too.
-
I would have totally guaranteed him like $30 million right now to buy out a year of free agency with options that could bring the value to $100m, and to no longer have to play the stupid service time game.

So is this S*** not happening? That's disappointing.

What are Archer or Greinke worth? deGrom/Thor?

If they continue to have pitching injuries...they will not have the resources to make these moves. -
I'd prefer fewer steroids.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron

Well yeah, Jiminez alone will be an improvement over whatever it was we put out in LF last year (Seriously this is amazing, leftfield by PAs, Delmonico - 268, Leury 103, Tilson 99, Palka 96, LaMarre 50, Thompson 17) -
If Rutchsman and Vaughn are off the board 1-2, there's going to be a very anxious few minutes for the White Sox fans intently watching the draft, followed by either relief or frustration.
-
If the Eloy deal was counting options, the Kingery deal would have been written as worth $66 million over 9 years.

Kareem Hunt gets 8 games

No but Jay is worse than Engel and Palka is worse than Avi, so the whole OF gets a downgrade. -

First of all, no I seriously doubt that the White Sox will sell off anything for pitching at this trade deadline. Teams pay a premium price for pitching at the trade deadline so that they can compete right then. The White Sox will have no reason to pay a premium price to compete in 2019, so the premise is flawed. Next offseason, adding pitching might be reasonable, but because you stacked your post with so many different pitchers its literally impossible to consider anything you've written. -
And yet you said "if Jimenez’s fWAR is always going to be limited to the 3.5-4.5 range", so now by getting you to list players you've listed multiple players who clearly beat the range you set. Ergo, your initial statement is wrong. Thank you.

And yet in your line of stats you showed that Bryce Harper was the 4th worst right fielder in the league that year but still put up a 10 win season. You can't have it both ways sir, you quoted the stats yourself.
