The necessary "HELL YES!"/Hawk poll
QUOTE (BobDylan @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 02:58 AM) I'm not sure anyone is calling him a wise baseball-man. Anyone who has listened to Hawk long enough knows this about him. He's not baseball ignorant, but I'd never want him running my team in any shape or form. That said, he is a great announcer for the fans. As somebody has already pointed out, it is like watching the Sox with a buddy. Announcers that go for objectivity, I find them boring - their emotions also tend to sound forced, where as Hawk seems quite genuine. The combo the White Sox have in the booth right now is a real treat for me, and I think it'd be hard for any organization to top it. I only replied to this because your sig caught my eye....its f***ing awesome and shes sexy

The necessary "HELL YES!"/Hawk poll
First time I heard it was the extra inning game against the Dodgers when Scotty got the winning hit. I have grown up with Hawk Harrelson doing Sox games and know no other who can do them for me. For all the flack he takes from people about his skills, he is a fan first and we hear that in the way he calls games. If its a "Hell Yes" on a big home run, a "That's bush" on a hit batter, or just the tone of disgust for the teams play: this is why Hawk does it for me. The fan first really makes me want to want more because I usually want to know "What Hawk thinks about that?" He has given us key catch phrases that wil last forever. I met Hawk last year and he is just the greatest guy to sit down and have a conversation with, he talked with me like we were best friends. Just to give an example he told me about his flight from South Bend and his home in Florida, again just a very personal and friendsly man. When that day comes when Ken "Hawk" Harrelson leaves the booth and/or leaves us forever, I think that the White Sox and baseball community will be deeply sadden. Let's enjoy him now while he is still here.

Porcello v Beckham
You know, if Beckham played in New York or Boston he would be all over ESPN and SI covers. Its pretty sad how much the media loves the players for those 2 cities and justs says a few good words on others' talent. Very frustrating. Beckham for ROY.

What happened to Bartolo?
He was at the Nathans Hot Dog Championship

Who Is Kenny Trying to Shake Loose?
If Roy Halladay came to the Sox, the divison race would be over then...I don't see Toronto trading away their best player for anything less than major league proven talent and the best prospects.

any chance KW revives the Peavy trade?
Honestly, I do think it will get brought up again and Jake will have second thoughts...I think Jake Peavy might be in a Sox uniform.

ozzie
A.J. was the hot hitter and Castro would have found a way to swing at one of those garbage sliders...I can't fault Ozzie for having A.J. hitting because if he didn't, we would be questioning why he left him on the bench.

White Sox opening video (shown at home games)
QUOTE (mreye @ Jun 16, 2009 -> 06:33 PM) I like this one better anyway. When I watched that game live from home, I really did cry through that video.

Predictions for Sox/Cubs Series
Milton Bradley forgets how many outs there are and runs off second base and is tagged out to end the 9th for a White Sox victory....while Ron Santo moans n groans on the air.

Ozzie: Still Not a Fan of Wrigley Field
Hineybird runs his mouth on TV but when the host asked him if he'd visit Ozzie, Hineybird replies "he should come see me." Wow this guy is such a little weasel. He should learn from the phrase "don't write checks with your mouth that your body can't cash."

What about bringing over Barry Zito?
4 years left on the $126 million....means like $72 million is left...(3 years x $18mil=$54mil...$126mil - $54mil= $72mil left...estimated) Yah it looks not possible, but we have seen KW do some amazing deals.

What about bringing over Barry Zito?
So I was reading the paper today and I saw Barry Zito was pitching tonight against John Lackey, and I had an idea. What about Kenny trading the Giants for Zito? Now I know people are going to say that it won't happen because of his large contract. As we have seen in previous trades (Griffey for one), KW finds a way for the trading party to pick up part of the contract. If that were to happen, think about Zito working with Don Cooper over the rest of this season and spring training. Cooper fixed a mess of a pitcher who has turned into the most effective middle-reliever in all of baseball, Matt Thornton. Not too mention Bobby Jenks, turning Gavin Floyd into the pitcher he was drafted so high to be, reviving Dotel's career, and also pulling everything he could out of that '05 pen with Cotts and Cliff. I would see the SF Giants being so happy to hear that another club is interested in the train-wreck Barry Zito. Although I never thought about who the Sox would have to deal to SF, I think they would be willing to deal him for less than one may think. If Zito came to the Southside and became the pitcher he once was in Oakland, that could post the Sox over the top. However this could be just a huge failure and be a headache for Sox fans as it is for Giants fans. What do you think?
