According to the New York Daily News, Derek Lowe "opened the free-agent bidding yesterday asking for a whopping $16 million per season." The newspaper suggests that Lowe's asking price may force the Mets, among other teams, to reconsider targeting him. Of course, like many Scott Boras clients Lowe may eventually have to come down from his initial demands. Would he leave his sportscaster girlfriend?

why?

How come there isn't much talk on the board about acquiring Cano? Ramirez at SS and Cano at 2B would be a strong middle infield, and would give us a young top of the lineup player. Plus, Cano has had a down year and is no longer considered untouchable. Am I dreaming?
