They have to be -- MB hasn't made the BIG bucks yet. When he gets his millions, things'll change.

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0202818.html Find what category your birthday falls into, and that's your "sign". Personally, I find astrology to be silly and meaningless, but it's a funny conversation piece at times.

So something has to taste bad in order for it to be a "man's drink"? Gotcha.
  7. I don't know what they base their decisions on. Probably what songs they like most and which ones they can play best, I would guess. To be honest, they need some more work on St. Anger and Frantic. They just didn't sound as good as the others. Given that it IS new, though, I suppose that's to be expected somewhat. The fans, though, were WAY into them, and it seemed like we all knew the words (since everyone was singing), so to me that's a sign that it's well-liked. The most songs they played from any of their albums was 3 (Master of Puppets and The Black Album), and the only album they didn't touch (save Garage Inc) was Load. I kind of wish they had played Hero of the Day, but I guess the slow song of the night was reserved for Nothing Else Matters (which was one of the highlights of the night, as everyone was singing, and since it's not a loud song, you could hear us more than James -- very cool stuff).
  8. My reason for pointing out the crowd size was to show that there are MANY people who still find Metallica very relevant and still think they are great musicians. Everyone in LA was there for 1 reason, and we all got our money's worth. And yes, it's the product "on the field" that matters most, and during every song, there were 70,000 people singing along, and after each song, there was deafening cheer, so I'd say it was a successful night for the old men.
  9. Lack of success? The newest album went multi-platinum and their tour is doing very well -- where's the lack of success? And I bought it for $10.99, which came with a DVD of the songs being performed with Rob (new bass player). Very reasonable price.
  10. I'm sure you know this, but realize that at a concert, bands don't just play their new songs. Like on their current tour, Metallica is playing just 2 songs from their new album. For the most part, it's all stuff from the 80's, and they're playing it as well as they ever have. So if you're including everything in their "act", there's nobody that can touch Metallica IMO.
  11. Once that I know of. But thankfully, he was smart enough to realize that he had a serious problem, and he took the time to handle it. He's got a family, and he decided that they were more important than making music, and he took the steps to handle his personal issues. That's something that should be commended IMO. If everyone with a problem with alcohol and/or drugs were that responsible, this would would be much better off.
  12. Let's blame the artist trying to protect their creation and ignore the people stealing it. Yet another great idea, Apu. And if St. Anger is so bad, why did you listen to it "numerous times"?
  13. , rock on Frank, let's see you kick ass for another 5 years or so and see you go into Cooperstown in a Sox uniform with a couple rings on your fingers! -- 1 for each year.
  14. Thanks Jr., I have seen the light. I shall cease trying to debate with people since I apparently cannot do it.
  15. Just curious, what Killswitch Songs have you heard that you didn't like? Like everyone else here, I've heard nothing of theirs. Nor will I ever, because a) they're probably not very good and B) they'll probably all OD in the next 5 years, if they don't get sent to prison before then. I love how some local band is formed and all of a sudden they're great because they jam the local bingo hall full of 250 of their friends and/or drug dealers (who paid $5, if that), everyone gets stoned, and leaves saying "That was great man!" , still laughing man. That was a good one.
  16. This coming from someone who would probably vote for Hitler if he had a D next to his name on the Presidental ballot.
  17. I was going to reply to that claim, but Bmr said everything for me. Killswitch Engage? LOL! And anyway, it's pointless to argue about who's better. You obviously think Metallica is done, but like you and all of those people, you are just wrong. I had heard the hype about them live, and had seen them do some great concert work on DVD. Last night, they made a believer out of me and 70,000 others.

Because men are too stubborn to go to the doctor once a year and have it checked out. No guy in 2003 should die from prostate cancer.
  19. Thank you. See that Bmr, he cares about someone other than himself.

LOL, have they ever done a study (I'm sure they have since they do studies on everything) to see if people who are "Cancer" get cancer more than people with other signs?
