Heh, a little flare down the RF line falls fair, and Frank motors around to score. Magglio into 3rd, Carlos into 2nd. BIG situation right here -- we need these runs. C'mon Jose.
What an underrated trade -- Grudzielanek (sp?) and Karros for Hundley. The Cubs took on more salary, but both Karros and Grud are hitting near .300, and Hundley is just a bum (and he's also out for the year).
The Royals have a weird clause in Mike Sweeney's contract. If they play .500 or better ball this season, Sweeney is locked in for a couple more seasons. It's strange -- so if nothing else, that is motivating them to play well.
It's possible I guess. But, stranger things have happened. If Cleveland can come back from a 10-run defecit against Seattle late in the game (back in 2000 or 2001 I think), a 13 run lead in the 1st is not impossible to come back from. Of course it's not likely, but it's feasible.
It could have been more than 14. With 2 outs, the Red Sox got a bases loaded single, and for some stupid reason they sent Bill Mueller from 2nd and he was thrown out by 20 feet at the plate.
Yes. You can't let a pitcher in his young 20's throw 100+ pitches every 4 or 5 days.
How many pitchers have to be ruined before people catch onto that fact?
And we should have taken 2 out of 3 against the Giants.
The Sox are playing at about 65-70% right now, as opposed to around 30% for the first 2 months of the season. Need to get Wright, Garland, Konerko, and Koch going to get it up to around 90-95%.
