  1. Nah, he's got 20. Hopefully after today's game he'll have 21.
  2. Well s*** i slept until almost 1 today............ Wow. Most guys your age are up at the crack of dawn.
  3. It's gotta be Loaiza if you take everything into account. I heard a great point by Peter Gammons this morning on ESPN Radio. He said that if it weren't for Loaiza's brilliant start, the Sox wouldn't have been in a position to make the trades we just made. Without his 11 wins, we'd be screwed, and as Gammons said, he should be the AS game starter. If you want to talk about the past month (.344, 10 HR, 24 RBI since June 1), then I don't think there's any doubt that it would be Frank, but the MVP of our 1st half as a whole is E-Lo.
  4. For 3 hours of live Metallica, $75 is very well worth it IMO.
  5. When did Hawk speak of this "mind blowing trade"? Was it during Wednesday's Twin game? If so, when during the game did he say it? I have it on tape, so I want to go back and hear exactly what he said, but I dont' want to sit through all 4 hours to hear him say it.
  6. The only thing that would have made Frank's HR cooler is if Hawk would have yelled out "f*** YOU MINNESOTA" when he hit it.
  7. I believe in Paulie's case, 1 AB CAN turn it around. All season, he's just been trying to do something to help the team win. For the first time in I don't know how long, he did that on Wednesday. Even if his hip is hurting him (I have no clue if it is or is not), the biggest obstacle he has to overcome is between his ears, and a HR like the one he hit Wed can erase a lot of negativity. Only time will tell how he responds.
  8. Yeah, you don't want the best pitcher in baseball so far in '03 to start a game that means so much. I wish there was a double green. I'd use it on "a game that means so much".
  9. Jim Rome blows. His act got old 4 years ago.
  10. John Rocker. 2 non-white males dancing? He wouldn't be able to resist.
  11. LOL, thanks. I think the reason it was met with sarcasm was because it was just after that tough SF series in which we lost 2 out of 3. But, you could just see that there was some shifting of the tides. They weren't winning a whole lot more, but they were scoring in situations where they hadn't been, and they weren't giving up like they'd been doing. Also, last night's game...I had to work, so I taped it. I had the timer set from 4-8 (Pacific), and thankfully it ended at around 7:50. A few more foul balls from Frank and I might have missed it. I've been taping every game, only to tape over it. This one will be saved.
  12. That was Mike Hampton's excuse too.
  13. I post way too much. I can't seem to wade my way through the tons of posts and find it. I said it around the 1st week of June, I think after we blew the 3rd Giants game.
  14. About 3 weeks ago I said this team was playing much better lately, and I received nothing but sarcastic replies. Should I dig that out? yep .... stand by while I search the archives

  16. Heh, I think you should have written that in green.

    Wow

Agree about the day off today being good. I was just thinking that, hehe. It will allow them to come down off of cloud 9 a bit and allow them to get back to the business at hand. Also, it will give Robbie and Carl a chance to get more comfy with their new team.

    Wow

Wow. What a past 36 hours it's been for Sox fans. First we fill our 2B hole with a future HOF'er. Then we obtain a powerful switch hitter to fill in our CF hole. Then we have a MAGNIFICENT victory to sweep our biggest division rival. I'm definitely feeling great about this team right now, and I'm so glad that we're finally playing well. I think most of us knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Now, when I first came to this board, it was during ST, and Frank had pretty good numbers. Everytime he'd do something, I'd tell all of the people who doubted him to ESAD (eat s*** and die). Well, we're in the first week in July, and I will again tell ALL of those who doubted Frank Thomas to EAT s*** AND DIE. To all those who said "he's done", :fyou . To all those who said "trade Thomas", :fyou . "Cancer", :fyou . "No bat speed", :fyou . Die. All of you who said any of those things. His HR last night to win the game was f***ing incredible, and was my top 3 or 4 Sox moments of the past 10 years. He's up to .287, 20 HR, 46 RBI, and with the offense of the team as a whole coming around, his RBI numbers are going to continue to increase. He's on pace for nearly 40 HR, and with the way he's been going the past 3 weeks, he could break his career high for HR's, which was 43 in 2000 (I believe). His average is creeping closer to .300, and he's #2 in the AL in walks (#3 in MLB). His OPS is 3rd in the AL (7th in MLB). "He's done" my ass. NEVER doubt Frank, because he's shown many times before that just when you think he's got nothin' left, he's got PLENTY left. .500 never felt so good! PS -- We CANNOT let TB surprise us and win the series. We MUST take AT LEAST 2 out of 3, and IMO anything less than a sweep is going to be a disappointment when you consider we're gonna have our top 3 guys on the mound for us vs. some guys from TB that I've never heard of, but winning the series is critical. Before the MIN series, I said we needed to go at least 2-1 against MIN, then at least 7-3 @ TB/CLE/DET. So far we're ahead of that pace -- hopefully we can keep the heat on KC and MIN and enter the AS break with the division lead. PPS -- Jose Valentin + Roberto Alomar = the best DP duo in the game.
  19. He had a no-hitter with 1 out in the 7th @ Oakland, but Durazo had a horrible swing and blooped one just over the 3rd baseman's head to break it up. Next guy with a solid single.
  20. Whew, Guzman grounds to 1st on a 3-1 pitch to end the game. Gary was very shakey, but that's to be expected I guess. Hopefully we can get the guy some regular work. Otherwise, he's a waste of a roster space. Sox win it 10-3, and now the season series with Minnesota is 5-5, with the Sox winning 3 of the last 4. Cleveland now leads KC 8-5.
  21. Gary got the count to 1-2, then tried to throw a perfect pitch. Count was 2-2, then Ford hit a double down the LF line to score 1. Runners on 2nd and 3rd. Gary needs to end it right here.
  22. A very close 3-2 pitch goes Minnesota's way, so it's 1st and 2nd w/ 2 out. C'mon Gary.
  23. First 2 hitters ground out, and then AJ drills Gary with a liner. It hit him right on the arm, the right arm, it seemed like. MB is in the dugout laughing, so it must not be too bad. "Glover looks like he hasn't shaved since he last pitched" -- Twin announcer, LOL. Gary is OK.
  24. Ugh, just saw the replay of Hunter robbing Jose earlier today. I hate that guy.
  25. Cool, Glover's in. I hope he does well, for his sake. I feel bad for him.
