*Deep breath in relief* Gotta say, I'm very impressed with the way the Sox came back from last night's difficult loss. About 16 hours removed from it, and we played very well today. Great job by MB, and some timely hitting for the Sox, and we take the series.

This was the only downside of leaving Mark in -- having the Twins get some hits and maybe some runs. Could take away all the positives gained earlier in the game. Get him out now IMO.

Who's that in RF for the Twins? I thought it was Dustan Mohr until that play...now I'm starting to think it might be Jose Canseco.

Hmmm...maybe you should "step out" until, oh, say mid-October, then come back in the house and see how things look then.

There've been games this year that the Sox have been lucky to muster 2 hits, so I'm not going to laugh. Plus, there's still 5 outs that we have to get.

Good obs by Brando. I've VERY rarely seen Hawk misread something off the bat. And I hear a lot of people complain about "homer" announcers, and I'm sure some may have Hawk in mind when they speak of them, but if you look beyond the "we" and "YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS", he is actually VERY objective. He calls it the way it is (as much as he can -- he can't say too many bad things about the Sox since they employ him), good or bad. I also love his insight and the stories that he tells about some of the greats of the past. Makes it more than just a game -- sometimes it's a history lesson. Hawk rules!

End 6, and MB looks awesome. WHAT THE f*** is up with Joe Crede? Why can't he throw from 3B to 1B on the fly? If he was having to rush the throw, I would understand it being low, but it's low almost everytime, and he's very rarely been under pressure.

Since we're all chiming in on our playing pasts, I'll throw my 2 cents into the diamond. I only played LL 1 year because my mom was always afraid I'd get hurt , but I very much enjoyed it and still love playing ball when I can (which seems to be about once a year if I'm lucky). Like most, I played several positions (P, 2B, SS, CF, RF), but I'd say my favorite was either CF or SS. They seemed to have the most action. We played a 17 game "season", and we went 14-3 to win the "championship" (there were only 3 other teams, but hey, it was still fun). I quit after making the all-stars due to feeling pressure to play. It was no longer fun, and everyone around me was trying to make me play the next year and in HS when I got there, but to "rebel" I never played again. It's one of the very few regrets I have in my life. Baseball rules.

I heard Nevin's coming back in August.

He's station to station because of physical limitations (he's not very fast) -- but he gets good reads on the ball most of the time.

Frank?! No way dude. Frank's not very fast obviously and he's reluctant to slide, but for a guy as big as he is I'd say he's pretty good. He almost NEVER costs the Sox runs on the base paths due to mental mistakes. I can deal with physical mistakes -- mental mistakes are unacceptable.

Wow! Carlos was running about as fast as the liquid metal villain in T2 on that grounder to 3rd. Now he steals his 8th base.

Heh, you did a pretty good job of explaining it, but to truly appreciate how bad it was you have to see it. It looked like a BAD little league play -- and that's pretty bad.

This year? He's not that good period. He's barely a .500 pitcher for his career.

It's impossible to explain. How could you not have seen it? They showed it 10,000 times on TV that night. When they have those highlight reels of the year around the AS break like they always do, check 'em out -- guaranteed to be on there.

Spotting MB with a 2 or 3 run lead would be a nice start.

I agree -- Frank has said all the right things thus far in '03. I might go as far to say that Frank is being a "team player"...and Mark is not. For a 4th year guy...not being a team player is a huge no no Yes. Mark has not earned the right to say stupid stuff, LOL -- Frank has.

I'd say Ruben Rivera (the guy on the Giants who made the absolute worst baserunning gaffe I've ever seen outside of a little league field and was released after the game, and the same guy who stole stuff from Derek Jeter when he was on the Yankees) is slightly worse.

Thank Moses! I get to hear the sweet, melodic voice of the one...the only...the HAWKAROO. The Twins announcers are actually pretty decent after you get used to their style, but having Hawk and DJ call the action is a welcome treat.

He gets bashed at the time of the quote...but then talk of it seems to die down. Maybe I'm just over-protective of Frank, but it seems like a lot of stuff from the past is talked about when it comes to Frank, but not other players. Of course, I could be wrong.

If he says that, his teammates have every right to beat his ass into a bloody pulp. I don't know what Mark's problem is. He seems to have a case of "Idon'tknowwhentoshutup-itis". For those of you who rag on Frank for some of the things he's said over the years, I don't hear much about MB -- who in just 3 short years has made several highly moronic statements. The team shouldn't allow him to speak to the media -- only bad can come out of it.

They swept the Tigers, once. And we swept Baltimore. I think we had 1 other sweep, but I can't recall who it was against. I just checked -- and I was wrong, we have just 2 sweeps -- the one southsider mentioned, and the B-more series.
