  1. As Sox fans, " what might have been", is all we have. It's the woulda's, coulda's, and shoulda's that drive people to the insane asylum.
  2. Uh, I don't care if you concede anything or not. It's not going to change the record of the Sox, so why would I care?
  3. Is that anything like tossing your salad?
  4. WTF is wrong with Billy Koch, seriously. This guy used to top out at 100mph, now his fastball is the same speed as Mark Buehrle. Is he hurt or mental? Maybe KW got tricked again like the Barry-Berry trade, and he got the wrong Koch. Heh, Mayor Koch rules.
  5. I don't know what criteria you use for determining games that the Sox blow, but I was at the Dodger series, and we didn't blow the 2-1 loss. We just ran into good Dodger pitching that day. I think it was Molto the other day who said that you need to sometimes give credit to our opponents and say that on that day, they were just better than us. Now, the last Boston game I do remember, as well as yesterday's Minnesota game. Oh yeah, and of course that horrid Colon/Bonds game. The others I don't recall, but I'm sure they aren't as bad as the 3 I just mentioned.
  6. I don't have access to a replay, so I'll have to take your word for it. But regardless of where it bounced, it was a horrid throw by Crede and Frank shouldn't be blamed for not being able to dig it and make the play.
  7. Meow... hisss.. hissss. No, more like -- :fyou ... :fyou ... :fyou
  8. Well just a few games ago we used a weird ass lineup and they came out of the gates running. Hopefully facing a guy he's had success against will get PK in a good mindset and get a couple of hits today. We need it from him.
  9. Why are so many of you constantly bringing up the name "Keith Foulke" like he was some kind of HOF legend? He was a very good closer for the Sox, but he's GONE. He's been gone for months now. Why the need to continually slurp on his weiner and make him sound like he was the greatest thing since sliced bread? I don't get it. We have Billy Koch now. If you don't like him, fine, say so. But to bring up the name of a former Sox player who will NEVER be back with us is pointless and a complete and utter waste of time.
  10. Today is a huge game you are right, I like the early start as it doesn't give them much time to dwell on the loss. As to the offense, I like the signs that we are showing. We had 13 hits last night. I can't remember the last time we had 13 hits in one game (the most in the Cubs series was 11hits) So we are a step closer. before we were getting 3 or 4 hits and scoring one run. The key to today is to jump on Radke early. Get that confidence back. Plus getting 7 or 8 out of Mark would be huge. I completely agree. I am very happy that it's an early game today. I just got home from work and watched the end of the game. I already knew that we had lost because I checked, but it was somewhat therapudic to watch it. I even rewound it and watched it twice. Helped me get over it. And yes, with our bullpen pitching as much as it did yesterday, we absolutely need either 7 or 8 from MB, or a 7 or 8 run lead so guys like Glover and Sanders can come in and limp through the rest of the game.
  11. The throw from Crede landed in the dirt, making it a MUCH tougher play than if it had hit the turf instead. It was ANYTHING but an easy play, and that idiot Crede did what he always does -- throw it low. It's not like he had Vince Coleman (circa 1986) running down the line. How does a MAJOR LEAGUER f*** up such an easy play? Only a bonehead would blame that on Frank. And Frank later in the game dug out an equally horrible throw by Jose, so lay off of the guy.
  12. Today's early start game is the most important game of the season so far for the Sox. If we can come out and take the series, it will take a lot of the sting out of yesterday's ugly loss, and we can cut the deficit back down to 4.5 games. If we lose, though, we'll fall back to 6.5 out, and IMO will kill any confidence that this team may still have -- and at this point they cannot afford to lose any since they have very little to begin with. BTW, what's with the tendancy now to score all of our runs in bunches? For the longest time, we couldn't get 4 runs in a game period -- now we seem to have a big inning pretty frequently, but after that inning ends, we get shutdown for the rest of the game. It doesn't make sense. It happened in the first 2 Cub games, and obviously it happened again Wednesday. It's nice to see the Sox get 5 runs in a game, but when all of them come in 1 inning and you get shut down for the other 10, it's quite pitiful.
  13. I think Crede and Jose need to buy Tom Emansky's video on baseball skills. Maybe they can learn how to throw over to 1B. End 4, Sox up 5-2 after an unearned run.
  14. And look what happens. Jose hit a three run jack off Cy Mays. I still dont like him, but Ill credit him where credit is due... LMAO, the Twinky Dome is a dump. Anyway, yes, he hit a 3-run bomb, and it was awesome. I'd like to see more of the same from him!
  15. Wow, I don't know how this happened (the Sox had 0 hits coming into this inning -- I don't even think they had a baserunner), but Mays is OUT, and the Sox are up 5-1 with 2 on. I can't believe Mays fell apart like that.
  16. First off, since those players are not wearing a White Sox uniform, I could care less how many errors they make. Secondly, if Jose had offensive numbers like Nomar or Renteria, I would be fine with his errors. But when you couple his lack of offense with his errors, it's not acceptable IMO.
  17. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Fair enough, and I agree -- IMO, there is very little a person can do that is worse than being a hypocrite.
  19. DH and SS are definitely problems, but lately, so has LF, 2B, and hell even RF. We've got several guys who need to step up -- I don't care who, just SOMEONE! And yes, Graffy should get 2 or 3 starts a week IMO to send Jose a message.
  20. Chicago is the #3 market in the US and our payroll is middle-of-the-pack. The Sox have plenty of money to spend if JR so-desired.
  21. Ummm...I think that's true, yeah, Keith should be a FA after this season. Right?
  22. Nope, I don't buy the "Manuel lost confidence in him" statement. Foulke had a few bad games. PK this year had like 50 bad games before JM finally benched him (and that only lasted because Frank got on a roll and left JM no choice).
  23. I don't like him either and I'll chime in even though my name isn't southsider... Reason being is the contract thing a few years back when he was definitely selfish about a lot of things and handled it in the worst way possible....Add that to the fact that he hasn't really had a great season lately (except for 2000) and there's not much to love about him. What about Mark and the whole St Louis thing? Hes been an idiot about that, why dont you hate him? That's a good point. Talk about handling something in the worst possible way...MB mentioned that he'd like to play for St Louis someday. Sox fans freak out, and just when we had forgotten all about that comment, HE SAID IT AGAIN. That seems very selfish to me.
  24. It isn't even that I don't like Frank, I just get annoyed with the double standards that get applied to certian players. With the exception of a few people, I don't think there are really too many double standards that people have on this board. I don't think you should let the opinions of a few nitwits cloud your vision when it comes to Frank. He's one of the greats of our era, and I think he deserves more than you are giving him.
