and now Laz is squeezing the Sox. You can’t have one inch of shoe on the grass if you’re a second baseman, but the strike zone can be literally freaking anything. Anything at all from batter to batter. Great job idiots

I have to say this defacto three headed approach to DH so far this year has resulted in some good hitting that is designated

Elvis got screwed there, but it’s time to bench him. Past time. Put Romy at 2B.

So are we off of hating Kopech and back to hating the offense now? Should I cue the Corpseball greatest hits? Hard to keep track of who of our people to hate in these game threads, it all moves so quickly!

Yes by all means let’s sit Robert while Andrus continues to play every day Grifol said Moncada’s day off the other day was not due to the toe, just a scheduled day off….and since that day off he’s 1/10 How about we just leave the hot bats in the freaking lineup every day until they cool off?

And that’s a white Sox winner
It’s just been a crazy week and a half. It’s hard to get a real sense of this team’s identity, but wow do they seem to have an offensive juggernaut. There’s an edge to them that hasn’t really been there since 2020 or early 21. Pitching looks uneven but they shouldn’t be this bad.

GT 4/8: SOX @ PIT, 5:35 pm, NBCSC
I see Elvis is still immune to having days off, unlike literally everyone else. Can’t someone ask Grifol what gives?

4/7 Sox @ Pirates 3:12PM CT
Andrus needs to be benched.
-
4/7 Sox @ Pirates 3:12PM CT
Andrus can’t even hit in a game like this.

4/7 Sox @ Pirates 3:12PM CT
Alright I’ll bite. How does Pedro Grifol manage this game differently with this pitching staff? Lucas pulled in the first? Who comes in when?
-
4/7 Sox @ Pirates 3:12PM CT
This is going to be a 20-14 game.

4/7 Sox @ Pirates 3:12PM CT
A lot of pitchers are getting rocked right now. I think MLB overcorrected on the ball.
-
4/7 Sox @ Pirates 3:12PM CT
I do like Moncada hitting fourth.

So Andrus is the only guy immune to the “day off” thing right?

What I do miss about the last three years of the Ozzie era…
Btw guys, to be clear I don’t want Guillen back. I was just reminiscing on those hot stretches where the team seemed like magic even in the bad years.

Sox bring back Colome
What if I want column B instead (had to get it in, not sorry)

Jose Ruiz DFA'd, Jesse Scholtens called up
I don’t really care what money Hahn has set on fire at this point. I care that Grifol can tell him “DFA this guy, cut this guy” and it happens. Quickly. And that seems to be the case.

What I do miss about the last three years of the Ozzie era…
Even in those bad years, those teams always put it all together for like 20-30 games to become the hottest team in baseball for a couple or three or four weeks. They had that fire for about that long in every season. I always knew it probably wouldn’t last, but man…it felt good while it was going on, and because Ozzie had won, I always thought “well, it might happen again”. And they were always almost karmically unbeatable for that stretch. It was something about Ozzie, and whatever atmosphere he had. There was like a 14-4 stretch in June of ‘09, that ridiculous 26-5 from June to July in 2010 and even in August of ‘11 they put together something like a 15-7 stretch to make a final push before petering out.

How many wins do you need by the ASB to still be IN?
1983 was a bad start then an insanely hot last 100 games. Edit: I checked and it was something like 79-38 over their last 117. Wow.

4/6/23 Giants @ White Sox 1:10 Game Time
During the off-season I really struggled. Last year was the worst year as a Sox fan in my lifetime. Most diehards I know my age say the same thing. Once spring training rolled around and Grifol was seemingly saying all the right things, and many of the guys looked good, the old feelings came back. It’s hard not to get excited about the positives. Especially the defense. I’m not happy about the pitching at all. But the whole league is kind of getting rocked this week.
