  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) (Warning/disclaimer, the following tangent is not intended to completely derail the thread but posted merely for entertainment purposes in the dead of winter when fake Gavin Floyd trade rumors and Straw Man Arguments over KW are all that are left to entertain now that college bowl season is mercifully over). You would not believe how hot Sofia Vergara was as a blonde at age 20-25. I used to watch her on UNIVISION, there was a show called FUERA DE SERIE that came out with a new program nearly every weekend. Shakira. Esperanza Gomez (google is your friend). If you ever get a chance to go on vacation there (either the Caribbean Coast or Bogota/Cali/Medellin), it's the most beautiful country (overall) that I've ever been in...and it's really not as dangerous as Mexico, Thailand or Russia, not even close. My one year teaching there might have been the most fun I've had in my entire life. Just make sure you like futbol, dancing and drinking/fiestas (in no particular order). Would like to see J4L's recap posts after six weeks spent in Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina. That's like saying a murderous kidnapper with a knife isn't as dangerous as a murderous kidnapper with a gun, grenade, or baseball bat embedded with railroad spikes.
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) USS Cole bombing no longer a terrorist attack, then? For what it's worth, I agree with your line of reasoning so far. Terrorism is terrorism, even if it's the good guys doing it.
  3. White Sox Not really Much else QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 07:29 PM) Alabama Crimson Tide (Football) Miami Heat Miami Marlins Why are you here...?
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) As do the young, lower educated, and unmarried. Lower as in? His attraction with Liberals is why I think he'd have a chance against Obama as long as Republicans would support him.
  5. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) jimcallisBA Jim Callis Yes, they do. #Marlins, #Indians just barely better than them. @jonf1220: #WhiteSox have to have the worst farm system right? 2 hours ago Favorite Retweet Reply f***ing seriously? Even after all of those trades we're still the worst? I knew it was really bad, but man...
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) Surprised Ozzie hasn't already signed Juan Pierre for a final go-around with the Marlins. Psst, you already said that 20 minutes ago
  7. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) Ron Paul is giving an epic second place speech. If you see a link, send it this way. I haven't watched anything yet, and I seriously doubt it'll be re-aired.
  8. Good Lord, the site has been incredibly slow this past month.
  9. Grant was also terrible, mostly having to do with unchecked corruption in his cabinet and I'm guessing his alcoholism.
  10. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) W was the worst President of all-time.. I do believe that Obama will win with over 300 electoral votes I'm fairly sure you're joking to an extent, but it's hard to be worse than guys like James Buchanan.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:54 PM) Exactly. If we chase off the majority of our season ticket base, we will become Oakland again. The one thing this team has done over the last 10 years is to considerably narrow the fan gap in Chicago. Trading everyone away pisses that progress away. You really think so?
  12. QUOTE (MAX @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) First "Jap" and now "Yellow fever"? This thread is no model of political correctness, that's for certain. Meh.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:37 PM) Eh, I think Bush I wasn't like that. He destroyed his reelection chances by raising taxes, which was the right move even though it was unpopular. H.W. gets a bad rap.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:24 PM) What do you like about Romney? What policies would you hope he would implement? His tenure as governor of Massachusetts. If the choice is him or Obama, I still might just stay at home.
  15. Not a fan of Asian women. It seems that the only times I'm ever attracted to them, they're merely part Asian. I've just never caught the yellow fever.
  16. I actually remember that episode.
  17. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 11:38 AM) Change for change's sake isn't always a good plan. Not saying Obama deserves it, but I don't think any of these GOP candidates are what this country needs. What I DO think this country needs is Campaign Obama...not President Obama. If he does win a second term, I think you are going to see more of Campaign Obama. Because as was said so eloquently in the movie The American President, "...I was so busy keeping my job I forgot to do my job." And I think pretty much every president since Reagan probably falls into this category...and maybe even before. I get that logic, but I can't support it or him. After thinking it over, I'd consider voting for Romney on the chance that he might revert back to his old ways, but I will not vote for Obama.
  18. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 11:56 AM) you must have enjoyed it, if you spend 20 minutes reading everything. Not in the least. I try to read everything in PHT to keep me on top of all things White Sox.
  19. No s***, I had a dream last night where I was something like The Shadow, and I blame it on this thread.
  20. I just read 9 pages of this. A waste of 20 minutes.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 09:52 AM) If you're looking for a centrist Republican, vote Obama! I was willing to give Obama a chance (as I said before, I'd consider myself more of a Democrat than a Republican), but I can't vote for him in 2012. While he isn't to blame for all of it, things have gotten worse under his watch.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 09:26 AM) Pretty sure he hates on Huntsman mostly to egg me on. As for Ron Paul, I can't believe I am defending the guy again, but need to clarify yet another falsehood from Reddy... Paul served ACTIVE Air Force as a surgeon for 2 tours of duty. Then he went to the National Guard. Reddy has this odd tendency, when he hones in on something he doesn't like, to try to add to his position by making things up and/or being selective in his acceptance of which facts he likes and doesn't. If Huntsman were to somehow win the primary lottery and win the nomination - which is incredibly unlikely - he would definitely have my vote. Romney I am on the fence about, I don't like the guy, but I think as President he is likely to be more like the centrist version of Romney than the far-right one he acts like in the primaries. And I'd be OK with that. Paul is intriguing, but he just has too many bats*** crazy ideas for me to vote for him. Anyone else from the GOP field wins, and I'm voting for Obama. I hope you're right about Romney. He reminds me too much of McCain, where I liked and respected him and his policies until each became a serious contender for the presidency. At that point (McCain in 2008/Romney in 2012), they backed off of their histories and started to say anything they thought would help them win.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 12:42 AM) See, did it again, haha. I was about to say... Agreed with J4L, though.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 10:55 PM) Seriously, with all the SoxTalk "insiders" with their wisecracks, innuendoes and jokes, I share Milkman's concern that only about 50-75% of the site (and, in his case, my posts) is actually intellectually accessible. I just sometimes think you're on acid or at least a strong weed with the tangents you occasionally go on
  25. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 10:15 PM) FOX hates Ron Paul even more than they hate Obama. Where do you stand? I know it's probably somewhere in this thread already, but I'm pretty damn lazy and not going to go back to find it
