  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Yup. I still don't have faith in him at all. I believe he'll fold when he faces a good defense or finds himself having to carry any significant load. This team still is dependent on the defense. It's nice to get turnovers to be able to start in the redzone constantly.
  2. So, today's game? Wow. Maybe Griese or even Orton will see some PT today.
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) I bet Cards fans care as much about being called the "worst World Series winners ever" as much as we cared about people calling the Sox "lucky" after the Graffanino error, the AJ "steal of first" and the Biggio dropped popup. Which is to say, not one bit at all. I don't think anyone is trying to make Cardinals fans feel worse about winning. In fact, I'd say nearly all of us are happy to have seen them win. It's just practically undeniable that this is the worst WS champion any of us have ever seen.
  4. QUOTE(WCSox @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 11:07 AM) Casey - Below average would be putting it nicely. Watching Casey in the WS, I was pretty unimpressed with him play at 1B. Nothing he did seemed too good. I think I'd label him average, at best. I remember one play where they might've gotten the runner out on a close play (probably was Eckstein, but not sure), but he didn't seem to extend his body far enough to allow the ball to beat the runner. QUOTE(tigerfan @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 09:36 AM) I didn't mean that, I meant win a world title as they did, having been through one now. Hey, I'm cool with that as long as the same thing happens between when said team fails and eventually wins the WS.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) I'm a big fan of signing Roberts as a stop gap. .344 career obp which isn't fantastic but he can run and has a real good steal rate, so he'd be in scoring position a decent amount. Ozzie also gets his speed at the top of the order and he's a pretty nice upgrade over Pods. He also shouldn't be that expensive so I think it'd be a nice value sign. I'm all for it. All of those things, plus he'd bring another veteran presence, a team-oriented attitude, and he's just flat out a good guy. I'd really like this signing.
  6. I wouldn't say it's embarrassing for baseball, but I would certainly agree that this has to be one of the worst champions in the history of baseball. To use a wrestling term, the Cardinals seem to be transitional champs.
  7. The White Sox have won the World Series, and they're mobbing each other on the field!
  8. Seeing as I'm very lazy, can someone once again tell me if there's actually a chance this happens? Or is it just speculation?
  9. The Cardinals have already surpassed all of the expectations I had for them in this series. I can't believe they've won 2 games.
  10. I just got mine. Cannot wait to watch these.
  11. When exactly do the Highlanders fight? I want to see more of them.
  12. QUOTE(Soxy @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) I lost all respect for U2 a couple (?) of years ago when they let Sunday Night Football use "Sunday Bloody Sunday" Didn't U2 be all about not selling out? Seems to me that they're huge sell-outs now.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 23, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) I can't believe this isn't getting more pub. This is absolutely fantastic news. Its great for the PR of baseball (5 more years without a labor stoppage) and is obviously great for us fans. Bad news gets more ratings than good news.
  14. I heard Rita is ranked like 13th in the nation. That's nice. But, they surely won't win a state title. Kuska still runs that team.
  15. Well, the best the Tigers can do in the postseason now is 11-2. What a bunch of losers, eh?
  16. Just to reiterate how terrible the NL is, Jeff Suppan and Oliver Perez have thrown absolute gems in game 7 of the NLCS. The Tigers are going to s*** all over either of these teams.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) And that's really the only reason some people still think he's good. He's certainly not as bad as this guy seems to think he is. He's more than good enough, especially since Vasher is better so he's pretty much the 2nd CB. And this guy has lost all credibility with me because he doesn't like Cryme Tyme.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:23 AM) Boring, boring game. Matt Leinart is really impressive though. ?
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:19 AM) The Cardinals should have ran the ball ever single play after it got to 23-3. That Bears offense could have never scored 20, ever. So, bad coaching on the other side of the ball is luck?
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) I don't even know what to say. That was a page out of the 2001 Bears playbook, only it was even luckier. The only part that was luck was Rackers missing two FG's. Every kicker misses FG's once in a while, we just got lucky that Rackers missed two today. You can't see great defense or special teams is lucky.
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) When you stop whining, I'll STFU. Kay? But that's expecting too much, so I probably shouldn't ask. Yeesh, take it easy, killer.
  22. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) Yeah, I know, 14 points scored, three points allowed in the second half, those guys are awful. STFU. Honstly. Yes, you're right. They didn't allow the Cardinals to just drive down the entire field on repetitive, short passes. I didn't critize the defense, just their play on the last drive. So, why don't you STFU? HONSTLY. What a win, though.
  23. The defense is just allowing constant yards. It looks like they're just conceding these 5-8 yard plays.
  24. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) Hm, turns out Grossman still sucks. This is getting hilariously bad.
