  1. Aardsma is a righty. It seems a few people think he throws with his left hand.
  2. I love Gload, but I love Sisco's upside much, much more. Gload was completely expendable, seeing as his role on the team was very minor. I wish him luck. Sisco can be very good one day. How hard does he throw?
  3. Ray King would be nice if he could be his old self, but I'm not sure if that's possible. Greene's splits for RH/LH are basically equal. I'd take a back-up catcher that could hit .250...how's his defense?
  4. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 14, 2006 -> 06:45 AM) Amy Zidian released means one thing. We must make a stable of Cade, Murdoch, Jamie Noble and Jimmy Wang Yang. Make Yang the leader of the stable and none of them acknowledge that he's actually Asian. I've heard good things about Yang, but I never watch Smackdown. What does everyone think of him? Also, I met Cade and Murdoch at a Shell station after Raw on Monday. They're good guys, and I think they're good wrestlers. Their finisher is pretty sweet, and they've got a couple other move sets.
  5. Wow, harsh words from redandwhite. That shouldn't be tolerated.
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) The team holds a $5M option for the 2008 season, so if Juan has an above average season in 2007 that option will likely be picked up. And you are correct Juan fired Scott Boras in 2003. The fact that Juan dropped Boras as his agent and then signed an extension with the Sox shows that he cared more about playing here than making more money. And yet, Joe Crede still has Boras as his agent...and some people still believe Crede when he says he won't let his agent get in the way of re-signing with the Sox.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 07:54 PM) Take a look at Ed Sprague, Kelly Gruber and Fernando Tatis' career stats compared to Crede's. Ed Sprague especially. There has been many a third baseman to peak at age 28 or so and put up a 30/100 season never to come close again. Sprague's numbers are eerily similar. We can only hope that Crede has a career as illustrious as his, ha. QUOTE(astralpanda @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) Yeah seasonS, The fact that he put up those numbers behind Konerko and Dye and sometimes AJ says a lot about his production. Put him in the 3/4 hole asnd he could go 40/120! Okay, THAT"S a stretch. You see, in baseball, as players gain experience, the good ones tend to get better. Crede is one of the good ones. Hate to break it to you but we're not getting Ensberg or Aubrey Huff. I'm sure you're crushed. And I'm sorry you have such a skewed view of a player who probably is only slightly better than mediocre.
  8. QUOTE(astralpanda @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) I said around 30/100. He went 30/94 last season and I can only see him getting better but that's just me. That's what you said. And that was a lie. Besides last season, Crede has never even sniffed 30/100.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Joe Crede has never had a 30 HR 100 RBI season and Joe Crede is just as greedy as his agent not that there's anything wrong with that. Ha, and he's only even come close once. I agree with whoever said that Crede is the most overrated player on the Sox. He is, by far.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) Gagne is a lot like Bonds, from my viewpoint. Both were amazing to watch during their big "run", as they've dominated their position like no one else has before them. However, it's hard to ignore the changes to their body, as well as what happened to them as soon as the steroid testing came into play. I remember watching Gagne face the Cubs when he was a starter, and he was a skinny guy throwing around 92 mph. The next year, here comes the huge guy throwing 98 or 99 mph to the plate. That's not good enough. I need a needle directly out of his ass to be sure about this one.
  11. Considering how great everyone says Hirsh will be, it's amazing that the Rockies got him AND Taveras/Buckholz for just Jennings. I still doubt that KW will rip a team off for Garland/Buehrle/Vazquez.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) Is there evidence around Gagne anywhere near what we've seen with McGwire or Bonds? Don't give me that BS, Balta. Everyone and their brother knows that he juiced, regardless of the evidence.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 01:39 PM) Gagne is awesome when healthy and a fun player to watch. I hope he'll pan out and stay healthy. Still a ton of money for an injury prone guy and the Lofton move is a decent one. The Dodgers did a nice job giving Kenny consistent rest and he rewarded them by having a pretty darn good season. I don't. And I don't know why anyone would root for a steroid abuser to make a come back. Screw him.
  14. Raw was pretty entertaining tonight, although it's always much more fun in person. The show kept me into it throughout, including Heat. That is, until the one man show destroyer, Umaga, had a match. He was the second-to-last match, and I couldn't have been less interested. It was so bad that it made the main event unwatchable, too. The thing is, I felt like the entire crowd was deflated after having seen that piece of crap. I don't understand how the WWE cannot see how uninterested the fans are in that hack.
  15. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) It gets really frustrating when people argue both sides of the fence to advocate their positions. So Vazquez sucks because of his 100-105 career record, while Freddy still sucks because of his 116-71 record. What the hell sense does that make? Freddy Garcia has a 4.01 career ERA, pitching exclusively in the AL. What the f*** are you talking about? Freddy sucked last year, yes. Vazquez has been an overrated piece of trash basically his entire career.
  16. Going to Raw tonight.
  17. QUOTE(scenario @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) And your basing that on... what? Got some facts to go with that opinion? See stats in the table above. Don't just pick out wins/losses since we both know that for the majority of his career Javy pitched for crap teams, so the W/L record alone doesn't mean squat. Career ERA of 4.34, even with his two incredible seasons in Montreal. Career record of 100-105. He's sucked both years he pitched in the AL, also. We're unfortunately in the AL, not in the garbage division that was the NL East when he pitched there. Ooh, he strikes out a lot of guys. Wowie! So does Kerry Wood.
  18. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) Everything is always black and white to you; ever stop to think maybe everything isn't as simple as you make it out to be? Not in this situation. Vazquez is not a winner. He's nothing more than mediocre at best.
  19. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) And do you think there's a reason why Javy was not discussed further? He's older than Garland, he's getting paid more than Garland, and he had a worse year. Under normal circumstances, it would be a no-brainer that you'd trade Vazquez before Garland, especially if given the same package for both. Instead, Williams seemingly didn't discuss anything regarding Vazquez being traded - I wonder why? All that article stated was that the Astros would have been more than willing to give the same package...not that it was discussed. Sounds like a 2005 horse with skin of bronze. Psychological problems can be fixed. Mechanical problems can be fixed. Mediocre stuff problems usually can't. Oh God, I'm so tired of people comparing him to Contreras. Contreras was the greatest pitcher in Cuban history. Vazquez had two good years in a s***ty division in a s***ty league pitching in a huge stadium with absolutely no pressure on him.
  20. I can't believe Vazquez still has so many people fooled. The guy is a born loser. It's obvious in his mental make-up. Javy will never ever live up to his potential.
  21. QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 11:18 AM) Good. More teams wanting Garland gives us leverage. Or so you'd think. Everyone was supposed to want Garcia, too. All we got for him was a failed prospect and a guy we already had.
  22. What happened to the f'n Wonder Years? One of the greatest shows ever, and it's never on TV. I still can't understand that one. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 01:58 AM) whatever happened to Dinosaurs? They went extinct in the last episode of the show. Not sure if it was ever televised, but that's really how it ended. Depressing as hell...
