QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 07:43 AM) Last nights crowd was awesome, for everything. It was like the March 3rd Chicago show where everyone thought Punk was gonna show Where was it last night? -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 09:38 AM) Am I the only one on the planet that has not seen, or have any interest in seeing, any of these comic book movies (sans the Nolan Batman series)? I feel like I am. Please don't. If you see them, they'll no doubt fall short of your ludicrous standards, and we'll all be subjected to how much they actually suck.

The crowd reactions to Bryan are bringing me back to wrestling all by themselves. -
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 5, 2014 -> 09:25 AM) Could the cold weather have messed his velocity up? From personal experience, I would say yes. At the second game, I was throwing about 33-34 mph on the radar gun on the outfield concourse. I'm usually in the 36-37 mph range.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 11:44 PM) You knew Buehrle was only going to get better and better. He's one of those guys who will be a crafty lefty into his 40s (if he wants to keep going). That arm has been magical. Here's to that golden left arm remaining strong. He's a marvel. As long as you don't count last season, sure.

Cliffhangers are the hallmark of terrible writing. It's tough to explain why we continue to watch a show that so regularly disappoints. For me, it's because the show has this great potential that it never really reaches. It gets close for short spurts. It's to the point, though, where I won't even bother recording an episode if I know I'm not going to be able to catch it because I know I won't miss anything important. So my interest is definitely waning more and more. I know there are a bunch of other quality shows I can replace it with, but I'm just too lazy to catch myself up on any of them

Tigers extend Cabrera 10 years, $300 million
Milkman delivers replied to Balta1701's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 29, 2014 -> 12:55 AM) If the Tigers are worth less than the White Sox, have the withering Detroit economic downturn to deal with...and can still afford to pay Fielder, Verlander, Cabrera, Scherzer $650 million or whatever, well, there's money there if teams really want to spend it. It's not JUST about Mike Illitch's personal fortune at play here. The main point, though, is that they're not willing to spend it on 2nd tier players like Santana, Nelson Cruz, Stephen Drew and Kendrys Morales...especially when draft pick compensation is attached. But almost every team can sign a $15-20-25 million per year player...if they really want to. I never understood why you always use this format. The middle number is unnecessary. You're giving a range from a low end to a high end. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 20, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) One of the unintended side effects of the WCW invasion angle was the percieved worth of each belt. I agree, the IC champ used to be a big deal, now it is Heavyweight/World title or nothing. The tag belts are a complete joke Yes, the tag team division is another thing I miss. It seems like they're bringing that back a little, though. -

I miss when the Intercontinental Championship meant something. It used to be the second-highest achievement in wrestling. Now it's basically the TV or European title. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 12:12 PM) We're a week behind on The Walking Dead. I just sat throug h 30 minutes of Rick hiding under a bed from characters we've never met before. If my wife didn't want to watch this, I'd have dropped it already. Instead, I will just continue to complain about the badness. Like the fake red hair on the guy from Band of Brothers and Southland. WTF is that. It's like he used a Crayola marker to color it. On a show as bad as that, it's hard for me to care about hair coloring

QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 10:36 PM) Wow. f*** you guys. f*** you guys hard. I LIVE HERE, you don't. I WAS THERE the days after the storm - YOU WEREN'T. You all have no f***ing clue what you're f***ing talking about. The red cross was doing PHOTO OPS while there were people huddled around generators with NO FOOD and NO WATER and no SHELTER. But FEMA and the red cross were taking pictures of their "workers" in front of their trucks! Honestly I don't even feel like explaining myself to you midwest f***ers who have no idea what this place was like. The MAJORITY of the emergency relief in the weeks following the storm was provided and orchestrated by Occupy. I was f***ing THERE. Yikes.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 3, 2014 -> 11:24 AM) I'll be honest, I don't know a lot outside of the legends that Vikings came to north america around the year 1000. I have avoided reading up on it, so I don't ruin the series. I believe the Vikings were the first (or one of the earliest recorded) society to outlaw/punish rape.

Don't think I even knew Maximilian Schell and Richard Griffiths died, and the latter was almost a year ago.
-
By the way, you did the correct thing in calling the non-emergency number.
-
I've never been into the franchise, but even I'll admit that it looks great.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 12:42 PM) ^ I called non-emergency. I would have happily taken it to someone else if the receptionist who answered had directed me elsewhere instead of telling me they'd take care of it. I know I've heard before on more than one occasion that something like this is precisely what the non-emergency line is for. This isn't something I'd usually do; normally I'd probably just warn someone if I knew they would be driving that way similarly to how I'd warn someone if there is a speed trap. It looked like it could do some good damage if someone happened to catch it- no one wants that... Well, maybe don't blame it on the cops. The person you talk to is OEMC, and if that person does their job correctly, it gets dispatched to Streets and San. It probably never even passed through the police department.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 12:30 PM) Rape? SORRY WE HAVE A PIECE OF DEBRIS ON NORTH AVENUE
-
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 25, 2014 -> 09:29 AM) Saw a pretty big piece of debris on the road (North Ave) on my way to work today. Called the PD to report it and was told they'd take care of it. 2 hours later, still there. Guess they're too busy keeping the roads safe via speed traps. It's completely understandable, though- a chunk of metal probably wouldn't be able to fund the Chargers they roll around in out here. OK, couple of things. That'd be Streets and San's job. A cop could remove it himself if he saw it (or sit behind it with the lights on if it's too big for an individual to move), but he also is probably more likely already assigned to another job, like people calling for actual police service. And if the police were assigned to the job, it's OEMC that decides the order in which jobs are given out. The vast majority of districts are working with a backlog of jobs. There are people constantly clogging up the system with calls just like this (non-police, non-emergency jobs) all the time, not to mention the serious calls where people are in immediate danger that OEMC jumps to the top of the list, as they should.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 12, 2014 -> 08:53 PM) It's a pain in the ass, but yes. Go to the Control Panel settings and make sure "Show hidden folders" is checked. Plug in iPod. Find the music folder. In it will be a lot of folders titled F01, F02, F03 and so on and so forth. Copy ALL of those files to your PC. Then, drag the mass of folders to iTunes. Boom. Done. Thanks, pal. I appreciate it.

Thanks, guys. You're all tops in my book. Now, if I want to transfer the music from my iPod to the new computer, is there a free way to do that? The last time I did this, I used Xilisoft and it came with a fee.

What do people suggest for good virus protection? I recall someone mentioning that you can get a quality version for free.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 10:16 AM) I said the same thing when they killed Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk. Jimmy/Steve wasn't the main character, but his character made the show much more interesting. After Darmondy died, Boardwalk was good, but never quite as good. It's probably a good thing they never showed Jimmy/Steve dying, as if the show continues in this direction they could possibly bring him back. Ofcourse by that time, Fiona will have to be in a serious relationship with someone else she isn't already cheating on to make it more interesting. The third season of Boardwalk was, by far, the best.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 3, 2014 -> 07:57 PM) What guy? My secretary? If you couldnt understand "heroin" versus "heroine" thats more on your reading comprehension and less on my lack of proofreading an internet post. Even when I get paid to write, there is someone who proofreads for me. Ptac, You have the study? Most studies Ive ever seen regarding marijuana have a problem in that many of the marijuana smokers are also cigarette smokers, so its hard to determine its impact alone. I have honestly never seen you admit you're wrong. Not once. Even here when it's something as simple to prove as a spelling error, you just make a smug comment basically saying you're above needing to spell
