  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) AJ. I changed it...jerk
  2. Cora sent Thome home, then after he got past the bag, decided to stop him. AJ got caught in between 2nd and 3rd.
  3. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) They should give Joey Cora the Gomer Pile treatment. Thome and Kong can hold him down while the rest of the players whoop him with bars of soap. I'd like to get in on that action. I saw that you were typing and thought you were going to rip me for talking s*** about Cora. Glad to see we agree on this one. Pods gets Uribe in after the beautiful bunt by Buehrle.
  4. I really believe Cora will be a great manager one day, but I can't understand how he's so bad at being the 3B coach.
  5. There really is no reason that they shouldn't be up for it. When I saw earlier that they were announcing the nominees today, I thought of how funny it would be around here if they didn't get nominated.
  6. How about Pierzynski for Liriano/Nathan/Bonser or whatever garbage the Red Sox gave the Diamonbacks for Schilling.
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 12:00 PM) oh really........you dont say. But wasn't it Palmeiro who stated that Tejada gave him the Vitamin shot or whatever that he blamed on his testing positive for steroids? p.s. I could be completely wrong here Yes, Palmeiro did say that. Tejada already had some suspicion on him because he played in Oakland with Giambi and the other abusers, so I think Palmeiro kind of just picked an easy target to deflect blame off of himself. I mean, Tejada could have actually had a part in Palmeiro's steroid abuse, but I think he was just Raffy's scapegoat.
  8. You gotta remember that these people deal with some world-class assholes most of the time. It's hard to believe how big of an asshole some people can be to the servers, ushers, etc.
  9. Doesn't surprise me at all.
  10. Maybe he should just let AJ call the game completely. That way we take Javy's lack of pitching knowledge right out of the equation and go completely on his stuff.
  11. I hope that the organization would spell "deficit" correctly
  12. I saw an episode of it last night for the first time. It was hilarious, but as Finkelstein said, the acting was terrible. And they used the word "f**," so it's very insensitive.
  13. When he was struggling to pull the base out of the dirt, I thought he wouldn't be able to do it. Imagine how embarrassing it would be to fail at that while you're throwing a tantrum.
  14. I understand the frustration with Thome sometimes. He really can look terrible once in a while, but he'll hit like 8 homers in a week soon enough, and that's what we want from him. And I actually expect him to hit 50 homers this year. I'd be a little disappointed with less, especially after his start.
  15. I would say I was raised in a working class neighborhood and I've seen plenty of fights break out during basketball, football, etc. It doesn't matter where you were raised, human decency is what prevents people from clotheslining someone, and then repeatedly punching them in the back of the head when they're out cold. This f***er should be charged to the fullest extent of the law.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) My confidence in our offense this year is 5 times what it was last year. I do have a serious question though? Has Ross Gload done anything this year to help us win a game? I asked one of my friends something like this last night while we were watching the game. I'm pretty sure Gload has never done anything that has visibly made him part of the team (Mackowiak's PH homer against the A's, Cintron's homer against the Tigers). He's really very useless, and I still think my comparison to Gil from the Simpsons is perfect.
  17. I compared Vazquez to El Duque earlier this year. He's just not fun to watch because he has all the talent in the world, but he has no idea how to pitch. EDIT: And I don't mean El Duque didn't know how to pitch. I'm just saying it's not fun to watch either pitcher.
  18. QUOTE(loltrain @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) The "they can't beat the good teams" crap is getting old. The White Sox weren't very good against the "good teams" last year, and you haven't even played them this year. (Since obviously we're not a good team, I can only assume that NYY, Boston, and yourselves are the only "good teams" in all of MLB). I just don't understand why noone can accept that maybe, just maybe, the AL Central has two good teams? Wow! That would be an amazing development! You won the world series last year, you'd think that might stop you from having to be so defensive about every other team. I really think you're seeing a small minority as speaking for everyone. I think most people feel the Tigers are for real.
