Is something wrong with Politte? Overworked? He's been bad his last 5 appearances, according to the stats. If we don't win this game, we're 12-11 in the last 23 games. We can go .500 and still win 95 games, but I sure as hell don't wanna go into the playoffs on that kind of note. We need something to shake these guys up. They're too complacent now.

Just looked up Cliff's stats for the last 7 days (not including today). 4 games, 3.1 IP, with a 5.4 ERA.

You know what, I hope Mike Sweeney's back ends his career soon.

According to gameday, Garland's only at 85 pitches. Why not let him go at least one more inning? The bullpen could use a nice, long rest.

Since it's now clear that he's not in any serious, life-threatening trouble, I kind of hope he's out for a while for precautions or something. Having Boston weaker isn't a bad thing for us.
