Dye's Spiderbites, from Rieferts blog
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) He was on a fieldtrip with his High School and too occupied taking pictures of Kirsten Dunst to notice. Very nice

According to gameday, Garland's only at 85 pitches. Why not let him go at least one more inning? The bullpen could use a nice, long rest.

Clement
Since it's now clear that he's not in any serious, life-threatening trouble, I kind of hope he's out for a while for precautions or something. Having Boston weaker isn't a bad thing for us.

So, how did he get bit repeatedly by spiders?

Turns out I still hate Mike Sweeney. Isn't he about ready for another back injury?

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! I don't know what happened to just get three runs because I'm catching up on the game thread, but I'll take whatever it was.

Jason Schmidt News
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Adkins had an 4. something ERA as a RELIEVER last season, not a starter. He has proven in Charlotte he can't handle the role of starting. B-Mac has had 2 good outings in a row now for Charlotte, so he looks like he's turning it around. Oh and the Giants are only 6.5 games back of the Padres now who have lost 8 straight. I don't think they are going to deal Jason Schmidt. That's fantastic. f***ing Padres had to screw it up for all of us. The whole national league, besides St. Louis, is trash. The Tigers could win 90 games in the NL.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) I thought Hernandez was suspended... I think you're forgetting that MLB suspensions have no teeth. Players can pretty much choose when they want to be suspended, centering their suspensions around off-days and/or weak teams. Anyway, let's get the bad taste out of our mouth and give the Royals an old-fashioned ass whompin' That'll make us feel much better.

White Sox Trade Thread
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) Meh, I am not putting any more speculation into these rumors. I will believe nothing until the deal is DONE. Your avatar says otherwise.

the overbay deal should be in the works
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) Hello Mr. Overbay my name is Greg Walker, I need to talk to you about your high BA and low power. I have worked with lots of hitters on the whitesox and have a fool proof method of giving you more power for just a slight drop in BA. 2006 Overbay hits 30 homers and has a 212 BA LOL IMO, it's not just Greg Walker. It's the fact that most major leaguers, when they realize that they can hit more homers, will become enamored of that prospect.

The fact that Overbay isn't a power hitter right now shouldn't even be considered. The minute he puts on a Sox uniform, his average will drop 30 points and his power will increase.

Blast From The Past
Ah, Jeff Liefer. I'll always remember him for getting struck out by that utility player on the Rangers back in 2000. That's gotta be rough.

I hope to God we don't lose to Jose Lima. Not even pisses, I'm way too frustrated.

OZUNA IS NOT A 3B Now we got Mike Sweeney getting bunt hits off of us. This is a f***ing joke.

GAME THREAD 7-26-2005 SOX vs ROYALS
Son of a b****. Well, at least we won't see Lima again. If we had a real offense playing, we'd probably have 8 runs.

Carl has got to be close to seeing the bench more often.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) I believe it's at 82. And the man you hate has accounted for almost 20% of those pitches. He's also cost us the lead. He's struck out twice where he had a 2-0 count in at least one at-bat, plus he's screwed up twice in the field.

Come on, this is aggravating as hell. This is Jose "I really f***ing suck" Lima. God damn it, I hate Willie Harris. What's the pitch count on Lima?

GAME THREAD 7-26-2005 SOX vs ROYALS
I'll bring the effigy for the party. It'll be sweet to see Willie go up in flames, just like his MLB career.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) Wow it's a little tense in here tonite. I forgot how much I enjoyed these game theads. With pretty good reason. We've only gotten 1 run off of Lima (sure, he's on) and Willie sucks in every facet of the game, yet again.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) They showed a replay and he just rolled his eyes. It probably doesn't help that nobody like Willie, nobody on the team and no fans (except maybe one ).

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) He was there yesterday. I would rather he was there just yesterday. He then may be fooled into thinking that Willie has any worth. Oh, there he goes again. Please die, Willie.
