  1. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) If in fact there is a deal in place, this could be the one factor that is keping KW from pulling the trigger on it IMO. AJ might have been a positive influence on Schmidt. I am pretty sure Schmidt isn't one of the pitchers who had a problem with him.
  2. Is is possible that someone changes the Subject (For any and all trade rumors and talk) when a new trade rumor occurs. Example: Jason Schmidt? That would be nice, so we wouldn't have to wade through 70 + pages. Or, could the first post be edited to show everyone who has been rumored.
  3. QUOTE(SAVVY18 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) Walker singles to right. 1 run in. I still question Iguchi's range.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) I'm pretty confident I wasn't the only one on here who thought Contreras didn't have much on the mound today. No, he doesn't have much. My point remains though, Sox are down by 4 and they have a pitcher who hasn't given up a run in the last 5 innings. I see no reason why we should waste our bullpen.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) PULL CONTRERAS! I know Ozzie loves to leave his pitchers in for at least 6 innings no matter what, but it's painfully obvious that Contreras has nothing today. He has only given up 1 run in the last 5 innings.
  6. How about Frank Thomas? He's arguably the best power hitter and he'll get on base more than anyone else on the team.
  7. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35436 thatll answer your qeustion dumb
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) Wojciechowski is the tool that just wrote the book "Cubs Nation" which highlighted their dump of a season last year. He's a Flubs fan. Dave Revsine wrote the White Sox piece. I enjoyed it.
  9. Is this a case of Sox fans voting a lot and often or are people running scripts to fill the mailboxes?
  10. Halladay should start. The guy has 5 complete games, 2.53 ERA and 0.95 WHIP.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 15, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) It is obvious to YOU. That is an opinion. It is a very debateable and controversial subject. There aren't any facts that back your opinion up. Just because one believes one way or another does not make someone ignorant. Well, there are some facts backing up the Homosexuality/Nature debate. An overwhelming amount of testimonials from homosexuals seems to say they always remember feeling the way they do. Second off, a look at Identical Twins and Fraternal Twins found some convincing evidence. When one identical twin was found to be gay, there was a 50% chance the other was as well. With Fraternal twins, that # is much lower. Eitiher way, it doesn't really matter nature or nurture, what is important is acceptance and equality. Everett has proven time and time again that he is an idiot. I don't have a problem unless he becomes an idiot with an agenda.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) We were better off putting Marte on the DL. I haven't heard anything to suggest he'll be ready in the near future. It's amazing that a team with such a good record has certain glaring holes on its roster like we do (long man, back-up 1B). Well, glaring holes such as long man and back up 1b aren't really that bad.
  13. Someone should bring out the Batting Practice Net.
  14. whoops. It looks like the opposite of what everyone thought was going to happen.
  15. Ok, I also dislike Mariotti, but I'm a little confused. There is all this anger for putting up a website against The Hawk, making profit off someone else, and trying to get someone fired. Yet, you are willing to do it for someone else? hypocrites. Make sure you put your names, phone numbers and address, so everyone knows who you are (on the site).
  16. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) thanks man, i'm here to amuse. and, you're awesome! BEST TELEVISION SHOW EVER
  17. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) I love your avatar. Thanks. Film is my main love, baseball is 2nd.
  18. I think it's a funny website. I can't believe the uproar it has caused on here. I think that is the funniest part of all of this. The fact that they didn't identify themselves, I don't see why that is a big deal. Should we change all our names on Soxtalk to our full legal name? The anonymity of the internet is part of it's beauty and utility. Personally, I'm not a Hawk fan. I don't like "He Gone." It sounds like "Git R Done" which I also hate. But, a lot of Sox fans like Hawk and I realize and respect that. We all have our different tastes for announcers. PS. As a player, Hawk wasn't really that good. He had one good year (1968) and 2 other years where he wasn't terrible (65 & 69). But that isn't really have any bearing on his abilities as an announcer.
  19. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Well, it is unfair, but there's really nothing to be done about it for this season. Which is pretty much what Lohse said, so I don't have a problem w/ his comment. The writer seems to be more upset w/ it than Lohse, who was just stating facts. I agree. Plus interleague is a terrible idea that has worn out it's novelty.
  20. This is from another Forum Topic on here (posted by WHarris, I believe) ERA 1.62 W-L 15-1 APP 19 GS 16 CG 5 IP 117.0 H 83 R 28 ER 21 BB 35 SO 151 2B 12 HR 2 B/AVG .191 It appears that the big deal about his last 3 starts is he proved that the #s he was putting up in Conference USA wasn't because of poor competition. It was because he can really pitch. Breaking the #s down more: 11.6 ks / 9 IP 2.69 BB/ 9 IP 6.38 H/ 9 IP
  21. At this point, Brandon McCarthy. He is considered one of the top 15 prospects in the league right now. If he turns into an Ace, then we traded away an ace for a high quality player (as I'm guessing we would be doing). If he turns out to be a solid #3 starter or worse, than we traded him away at his peak trade value. I'm guessing this would be the case.
  22. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) The defense has been lackadasical. Iguchi's missed DP was harmless, but it appears Widger wasn't paying attention to Boone when he stole 2nd. That is a huge run. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Add to that Widger's passed ball and Rowand's error. Add to that Crede.
  23. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) The defense has been lackadasical. Iguchi's missed DP was harmless, but it appears Widger wasn't paying attention to Boone when he stole 2nd. That is a huge run. Add to that Widger's passed ball and Rowand's error.
  24. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Well, unless the offense decides to not suck today, it looks like Buehrle is in line for one of those tough-luck losses. We've seemed to master that. The defense has been lackadasical. Iguchi's missed DP was harmless, but it appears Widger wasn't paying attention to Boone when he stole 2nd. That is a huge run.
