QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Dont kill me but Ive thought all along Rowand was on the juice and that has led to his power #s being down he probably used steroids to recover from that bike injury. Of course it was probably doctor prescribed.

Here is why: If they win tommorow the worst they can do is 96-66. The best Cleveland can do after Tonight's game is 96-66. The division would than go to the Sox because they won the season series and the Wild Card will go to the Indians assuming Cleveland is in position to win it.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Yeah I think so. well i still remember what happened 2 years ago at Iowa on Homecomming. :puke :puke

Contreras has become the Sox 3rd 15 game winner.

Can you say it?

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) MVP: Paul Konerko. Enough said. AJ Pierzynski is a close runner up for me simply because how he has handled the pitching staff throughout the year. CY Young: I dont really care what you say, but Mark Buehrle. Whether he's been down or up, he's carried the staff (I know I'm going to hear s*** about this one) Most Improved: Jon Garland. Isnt really a question, considering he might have turned his career around. Most Pleasant Surprise: Cliff Politte. Simply dominant out of the pen. Biggest Disappointment: Shingo Takatsu. I was expecting him to have a great year this year, and he ended up being released. the reason i took Contreras was because he was so good at the beginning of the year to. Buehrle is a close 2nd though.

We can clinch this b**** tommorow.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) I was saying besides OSU the other team they'd have the best chance to lose against is Iowa. They play Iowa on the road and it's always hard to beat Iowa at home. is it homecoming that day? I believe it is.

Most Valuable Player: Tadahito Iguchi- He hit behind Podsednik all season long and has sacrificed himself for the good of the team. Excellent at hitting behind the runner and doing all the little things. Is the Sox best all-around hitter. Most Vauable Pitcher: Jose Contreras- A huge question mark coming into the season he had a stellar season and won 15 games despite getting little or no run support during the first 2 months of the season. He should have 20 wins by now. Most Improved Player: Jon Garland- Finally took the next step from being a .500 pitcher to being a 17-20 win pitcher. He improved his control and started throwing inside more. Coming in everybody would be just fine if he put up numbers that he had his entire career. He has done much more than that. Most Pleasant Surprise: Neal Cotts- He started as a mop-up man and ended up being one of the top setup men in the game. He has given up 1 Home Run this season with his ERA hovering in the high 1's. Biggest Disappointment: Aaron Rowand- A lot of players would be happy with a .275 average and 13 Home Runs. Aaron Rowand was coming off of a seaon with 24 Home Runs and a .310 Batting Average. This only came in 489 At Bats. People expected to him hit around 30 Home Runs however he hasn't delivered.

QUOTE(Fotop @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) I know you love Avant, but it's not as clear cut as you think. Santonio Holmes is one name that comes to mind when I'm thinking class of the Big 10. If Ted Ginn ever touched the ball...he'd make a case as well, and while we're at it Derrick Williams is going to be great over at Penn St. I think there is a case for Avant, but for a league that notriously under-uses its receivers it's hard to say who really is the best. i know they are great but Avant is a great blocker and the leader of that team. Breaston who some thought was the best Wide out in the nation hasn't done jack s***. He is their only wide out at this point.
-
Oh s***. Konerko will be on the cover of SI next week.
-
Great Pitching by Jose. Now let's get some f***ing runs.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) So, OSU is in question, but you think they would lose to IOWA, who OSU just decimated this past saturday??? Where is the logic there where is the logic in saying that Jason Avant isn't the best receiver in the Big Ten. HE IS! watch the games this year.

Congrats Joe!

If the Sox win and Indians, NY or Red Sox lose
White Sox Josh replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(tpezz27 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) That theory only works with the Red Sox and Yankees both losing and the Sox winning. The Sox would be at 95 today with a win, Cleveland with a loss is at 92. They win out we lose out, they beat us. The Yankees and Red Sox are both at 92. If Boston wins today and the Yankees lose then they are at 93 and 92. They both win their last game of the series to be at 94 and 93. Then the Yankees win two out of three and they are at 95 and Boston is at 95! And with the way they have been playing it's very possible. -
That's Right. If this happens we are in the playoffs. So everybody should get away from the ledge and get back inside. They will make the playoffs. When the playoffs start anything can happen. Hell even San Diego could win the World Series.
-
QUOTE(1549 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:28 AM) Yea, 6-5 is possible...but not the best case scenario anything is possible. It's just unrealistic. They aren't losing to Penn State and Minnesota. They will also surprise MSU who will take them lightly.
-
I got a radio show for third year and a row (boy are they dumb). Show's name is Reverse Drive. It's friday's from 5-6. You will get great Sox coverage during the playoffs assuming they make it. WNTH is 88.1 FM but you can also listen to it at www.wnth.org. Online streaming. We will have great guests on including Bruce Levine, Jimmy Greenfield, and more.

Prayers go out to Crede family. They also got Crede's wife name wrong in the Cubune. They said it was Anna and I believe his wife's name is Lisa.

QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Explain to me how you "aint sold on OSU"....??? Also Avant being the best receiver? Ever heard of Holmes and Ginn??? sorry but Avant has carried that team to it's two wins. He has the most receiving yards of anyone in the big ten and catches almost anything thrown to him. Im not sold on OSU because i don't think a 2 QB rotation will work. I know they are primarily using Smith now but i have a feeling you will be seeing Zwick soon. Also i don't think Smith is a great QB. He is a very good running back playing QB sort of like Michael Vick is.

The thing that bothers me is getting beat by that boob John Stocko. He is not a good QB. I guess it's pretty easy to win games when all you do is hand it off to your running back. -
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) MSU has a pretty good record for a "flawed" defense.... because they have been putting up scary numbers on offense. That won't last much longer. Michigan's defense has actually been solid this season. They haven't allowed that many points. They also have the best receiver in the Big Ten in Jason Avant. He is in the top ten in the Nation for almost every important receiving category. He leads the Big Ten in Receiving yards by a large amount.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) Gimme a break, they have already loss one, they will get clobbered by OSU (OSU is vastly superior) and than you have the games against Iowa/Purude, etc. I'm not saying Iowa's great, but they are basically in the same pathetic boat as Michigan as a middle of the pack Big 10 team this year. we don't play purdue this year. Trust me this team will win 8-9 games this year at the least. They just have to get their act together.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) How many yards/point was IOWA averaging until they hit the bucks d-fense? MSU is dominating good teams, and frankly will beat Michigan this year. If you arent sold on OSU, you havent been watching. They gave the game away vs Texas, and just punished IOWA this weekend. Negative 20 rushing yards. yeah and their leading rusher last year rushed for 200 yards. Drew Tate can't carry that team by himself.
