QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) I'm sorry but you're positively wrong. For some reason, I can't find a great source for the rules but I did find a page about the 2003 ROY voting which follows the same rules. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/writ...ovan/08/20/roy/ That and I bet Curt Schilling would have gotten more than 0 votes after the whole bloody sock incident. than how come Josh Beckett was a nominated in 03 when he was 9-8 in the regular season.

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Yea, it's Jr, and yea does go to school. As for these pictures.. that was in Boston.. and the blondy got sent away and ended up whoring with another player. She lives out my way in Oswego... wonder if she'd mind me posting her business on the internet. :rolly UIC right?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) You can make a great case that Grady Sizemore is the Indians MVP, he's quite possibly the best leadoff hitter in the American League right now and carried the Indians the last 2 months. AL Cy Young = Bartolo Colon AL MVP = Alex Rodriguez AL ROY = Huston Street (Cano a close second) AL Rolaids Relief = Mariano Rivera AL Manager of the Year = Eric Wedge NL Cy Young = Chris Carpenter (Willis/Clemens battle for 2nd) NL MVP = Andruw Jones (Pujols very close 2nd) NL ROY = Ryan Howard (Francouer a close 2nd) NL Rolaids Relief = Chad Cordero NL Manager of the Year = Tony Larussa (or Bobby Cox) Iguchi should be ROY IMHO.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Nope, CY too. Postseason doesn't matter. I think the most amazing thing is that all four big awards besided ROY could come down to ballot ranking. For some of them, the guy who has the most first place votes could finish 4th on many other ballots. It might just be the guy who gets some first place votes but does not finish worse than second on most. Fascinating stuff in the only sport where this stuff matters. Football MVP? Please. no im pretty sure its just MVP. In fact im positive.

Songs that describe the current state of the Sox

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) It can't, the votes are collected before the postseason begins. My MVP is Ortiz but I can definitely see A-Rod winning it too as the DH debate always comes into play. only for MVP i believe. Josh Beckett was a canidate for Cy Young in 03 even though he went 9-8 in the regular season.
-
That's the thing with the awards this year is that there is no clear cut winner. Take the Cy Young, nobody has run away from the pack like Santana did last year. I think it might come down to how they do in the playoffs.
-
Travis Hafner. He has carried that team and has put them in position to win the Wild Card and maybe the division. Who do you guys think should be the AL MVP?
-
Great trade for both teams. Both teams got they needed.
-
Here is how you pitch to him: Ball One, Ball Two, Ball Three, and Ball Four. Walk the Guy. Why don't the Sox just walk him and face Victor Martinez. He is good with RISP however is much less dangerous.
-
QUOTE(JoshPR @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) Ok Ok Let me see if I get understood here. stuff doesn't mean jacks*** ifyou don't know how to pitch: Case in point would be Kerry Wood.

Freddy needs to drink more fluids
White Sox Josh replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) I think Gatorade was causing Carlos Zambrano to cramp up in his forearm so I think maybe water would still be the way to go. no that was actually typing. he apparently was emailing his cousins. That is the code word for looking for porn. -
Freddy needs to drink more fluids
White Sox Josh replied to White Sox Josh's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) Less partying maybe. If he had problems with fluids before, why is he having problems with lack of fluids against Cleveland on Sept. 20th? one of the things they mentioned was that he needs a lot more fluids because he has less body fat. Oh yeah and he is married so i don't think he is a party animal anymore. -
I heard Hawk talk about this yesterday and Levine reported this to that he needs more fluids. He is getting tired in the 2nd inning. He is dehydrated. I believe that Freddy drunk 12 bottles of Gatorade and than went on to strike out 9 Cubs Hitters.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) Prior gave up 3 runs, Zambrano gave up 0! I'll take the 7-0 before the 9-3 every single time from my starter. How is it Zambrano's fault that his bullpen couldn't get 6 outs? I'd much rather have my pitcher walk the occasional batter than to just pipe the pitch on the 3-2, and let the batter hit it as far as they can. Ask Mark Buehrle about that! i will take the win. If Zambrano had better control he would've been able to pitch a complete game or at least got it to Dempster.
-
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Check out the game logs though. He comes up with some brutal starts, and racks up some monster pitch counts. 5 earned in 6 innings at Pit? 4 earned in 3 1/3 at Washington? 8 earned in 2 2/3 at Miluakee? For someone that supposedly has so much talent, he fails to make it through the 6th inning quite a bit. also remember the game he pitched against the Sox. He threw a 1 hitter. But he also walked like 5 guys so that pretty much means he allowed 6 baserunners. He had to come out after 7 innings because his pitch count was so high. Buehrle probably completes that game.
-
Bottom Line: Mark Buehrle will win a hell of a lot more games in his career than Zambrano.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) Especially with Pujols on his team ok please stop now.
-
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) You need to compensate for the difference between the NL and AL. In general, the ERA's in the AL are much higher than in the NL. Plus Zambrano gets gift outs and K's by pitching in the NL because of the pitchers hitting. Put Buehrle somewhere like Petco park and his ERA sinks to the mid 2's. Peavy is a stud, but Zambrano is way too inconsistent. exactly. Plus Zambrano is so inconsistent. He goes through stretches where he is lights out and than stretches where he gets absolutley bombed. Buehrle at his worst will at least keep you in the game.
