QUOTE(joeynach @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) Im watching the 9th inning of the game today and jenks is pitching. After he gets an out he steps off the mound and does a strange little routine. He has a big white puff on the back of his hat and some strange substance under the brim just to the right of the center. He steps off licks his hand then touches the back white puff then wipes on his shirt, then licks again and touches the under brim part then wipes a little then gets back on the mound and pitches. Its a little strange, like the Juilan Tavarez incident. Dont know if its rosin or pine tarr or what but he does it all the time. He goes hat, shoulder wipe, brim shoulder wipe, butt wipe, etc etc. ??????? as long as your off the rubber you can do that.

Pods is engaged to Lisa Dergan. Their wedding will be sometime this offseason. I heard about it on Talking Baseball. Congrats Pods!

I got my grandma to by me Sin City this weekend. I am a bit disapointed that the DVD doesn't have more features to it though.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) Maybe at the dollar theatre. Can't see myself paying much more for it. Although I think Rachel Weiscz usually does very good movies. I see anything that Has Ralph Fiennes in it. He is a very underrated actor. He will be playing Lord Voldemort in the new Harry Potter movie. Great choice.

White Sox VS. Red SOX -Game thread (Sep 5th)
White Sox Josh replied to kman's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Ball was killed for a HR by Kong. Before this year he didn't have a HR in Fenway and this year he has hit one in each game played there this season. -
happy birthday man.

QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) I hope they get an ex player who can do color as well as play by play. Someone to balance out Farmer and keep him in check, like Rooney did. stoney.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) That's the problem--Score f***ed up here. Pay Mike North more than a million a year yet break negotiations with a true broadcasting talent? If they felt retaining Rooney wasn't necessary, then I hope they find quality talent on the market willing to work for us. Time to steal someone from a small market. I sure as hell doubt Stone would step down from his position on ESPN to broadcast White Sox games. And neither do I believe anyone one the score is fitting for the position. I won't be very pleased unless Score management can find a somewhat (nearly impossible to find an equal replacement) comparable talent. but Stone does work for the score. So they might not have to pay him that much to do color on the games. I think Stoney will be in the booth for the Sox next year.

According to Cory MacPheron from Fox. He talked about it on MJH a week ago.

QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 06:54 AM) Robin's my favorite player of that era, but he's still a little dull on the microphone. McDowell did well though. Best idea for me would be to put DJ on radio and hire anyone else in the world for TV. Mike Huff did a really solid job to.

If you haven't signed do so.

Im in Detroit right now and the Tigers broadcasters were saying that he had triple vision which was one of the reasons why he made those errors.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) Brooks doesn't have any control over this, I believe. maybe, maybe not. I will also send this to the Score to.

anyone know boyers email? Maybe Soxtalk.com should make a petition saying that we won't listen to sox games if Rooney isn't play-by-play.

QUOTE(chisoxt @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) You know damn well that this was a money decesion. Any money decesions are Reinsdorf decesions. Unfortunatley, Jerry is such a coward he will hide behind his lackeys who will take the heat instead of him. In this case it will be Boyer.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) From the story on the team's website, Boyer said it was Rooney's decision to move on. And it appears the reason he is moving on is money related. Im sorry but this is so bulls***. Give him his damn money. My god. My opinon of Brooks has officialy nose dived a ton.

QUOTE(spiderman @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) And, like you say, Buerhle is often compared to Maddux because of the way they pitch, and I also expect Buerhle to be good for years to come. he is an ace PERIOD!
-
QUOTE(spiderman @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) I'm not sure where you going with this - in their primes, both Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux were both much better stastically than Mark Buerhle - Tom Glavine won 20+ games 5 times, and had ERA's lower than 3.00 6 times; Greg Maddux has been a 20 game winner 2x, (17x 15+), 9 times with an ERA below 3.00. Again, Buerhle has been a really good starting pitcher for the White Sox, but those guys are incredible statistically. actually with the exception of the era Buehrle is right where maddux was at this point in his career.

Yeah Brandon. Hopefully this is the first of many for you in a white sox uniform.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) He is on the score right now. oh. Anything about Walker?
-
QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) How the hell is this Mike Esposito on the radio...he sucks huh? WTF

Maybe they just haven't announced anything yet?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) You miss him, don't you? no i just remember that one well. Also the jenks one was pretty funny on how it happened.

QUOTE(spiderman @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) IMO, Buerhle is not a shut-down pitcher, thus he's not an Ace, but he's clearly our best starting pitcher. Getting back on point, I realize most don't agree with my Buerhle comment, that's fine, we're not going to agree. We now have a 8 game stretch where hopefully we can get on a roll - the Tigers for 4, Red Sox for 1, and the Royals for 3 - this stretch is important for 2 reasons - 1) just getting this thing turned around, and 2) turning around our losing ways at home as well... I'm hoping for no worse than 5-3, hopefully 6-2 in this stretch. Greg Maddux in his prime wasn't a shutdown pitcher. yet he was an ace. Same with Tommy Glavine.
