White Sox vs. Marlins, 6/20/07 (L)
earthshiner replied to dagotony06's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 03:45 PM) He got two strikes on him right away, did you want him to watch the 3rd strike? no but maybe take at least one pitch. At least that would make it look like he has a clue. I mean he just walked two guys. However, he did put a nice swing on that line drive and the guy made a hell of a catch. -

Gregg walks fields then can't throw a strike to Terrero and Erroribe just swings at everything thrown up there. pathetic -
we've used 20 position players so far this year. Last year we only used 19.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 12:41 AM) I'll tell you one thing, as of right now Luis Terrero is my starting CF for 2008. I absolutely hated the guy during Spring Training and to start the year at Charlotte but he's really shown me something. He seems to be a pretty consistent power threat, I don't know about the rest of his offensive ability but it does seem that his power is real. He seems to play some great defense out in CF and he has an absolute cannon for an arm not to mention some decent speed. Power + Defense + Arm + Speed + League Minimum = starter for me. Of course now he'll go 0 for his next 27 or something just to prove me wrong. I agree with this 100%. I hated him until a few weeks ago when he hit that absolute bomb at the cell. Now he is one of my favorites on this team. At the very least he brings some excitement to the lineup everyday which is more than most of the other guys have brought this year.

well I'd hate to be the next guy asked to lead off.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) B ) Look for lots of pop ups from the 8 and 9 holes tonight and the 6 hole too. -
I've always loved the scrappy utility guys. Norberto "Paco" Martin, Craig Grebeck, Chris Snopek etc.
-
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 06:55 PM) Is our offense that bad, are the rookies actually good, or a little of both. I think it may the rookies sensing that they may be able to steal a job. Not that Ozzie will let them but that could be what they are thinking.

thanks
-
who are they talking to? He's bringing us some luck
-
thanks for the link as I hadn't seen it either. That is a classless move from a classless guy. no respect.

AROD proves over and over again that being the best player doesn't equal winning. He puts up great numbers but I wouldn't want him on my team ever.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 31, 2007 -> 11:19 AM) I still don't get why people hate on A-Rod for the Arroyo play in the '04 ALCS, people forget he ALMOST got away with it and that would have changed the entire complexion of that game. You do whatever it takes to win, period. no, that was a dirty play. He almost took his arm off. Plus it is against the rules. I'd hate any sox player if they tried that.

QUOTE(earthshiner @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:58 PM) Hunter is 0-2 against Boone and he is 2-3 of Aardsma with 2 RBIs and both hits coming this year. Good move Ozzie. well you can add a walk and another RBI to his numbers off Aardsma. -

Fields at ss and Gustavo playing third. Must be a nightmare to watch ground balls to the left side.

QUOTE(BainesHOF @ May 18, 2007 -> 12:20 PM) The preoccupation of Sox fans with the Cubs is an ongoing embarrassment on the South Side. I have grown up in a very pro-Cub area. Going through school I took a lot of crap from Cubs fans every single day. In fact, I still do. The Kohls I work in did not sell White Sox merch until this year but would always have a wall filled with Cubs shirts. I don't hate the Cubs but I sure hate their wishy washy fans. I got so sick of taking s***e from fans that couldn't even name five guys on the Cubs yet would try to argue that the Cubs were great. The thing is that Cub fans, in my experience, are always the antagonists and care about this much more than Sox fans. I have never seen a Cubs fan treated bad at the Cell but every time I have been to Wrigley I have seen a Sox fan get treated like s***. When the Sox beat the Cubs I know I can live easy that day.

Anyone else currently regreting letting Ross Gload go?
earthshiner replied to Chisoxrd5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't regret the trade but Ross would look real good in this lineup. He'd also look real good stranded at second base waiting for someone to hit a home run. -
I know this was a trade KW couldn't pass up and I have nothing against what Sisco has done, but Ross Gload would look pretty good in our lineup right now. His number aren't the greatest right now (.250 2 13) but he'd pretty much be the best hitter in the line up right now.

I thought Millar or someone confessed a few months after the WS that he just drew on it with a sharpie. At least thats what I remember.
-
I think it is a crime to open up outside of the us or toronto. I think it makes a joke out of the game.

QUOTE(supernuke @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) Perez has played all those position, but can he still play them or is he just a 1B/DH/PH now? well he's played about 12 games in the OF the last three years and 74 in 03. He might not be good but he would know what to do at least. He hasn't played much 3rd lately but he could in an emergency I guess. In the interview on the sox page he mentioned that he still works at these positions.
