QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 02:59 PM) Loved him when he was here, hated how he left. Wouldn't have made my list. bingo. Although I do miss having such a consistent bat in the line up
-
I'd buy one. They're damn sexy
-
nice. thanks
-
yeah, he has turned things around. He still should have been benched back in July.

Pop up Paulie for his massive amount of pop ups I called Podsednik "El ScoPo" after the notorious "el Guapo" from Three Amigos

Why is Milton Bradley among the BA leaders and ARam is not?

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) BA Title, ROY and MVP all on the same team. I would like that and HR title -
liked his hitting and never disliked the guy but I never was that huge of a fan. Though he was the first player I ever personally got an autograph from.

QUOTE (feistyboy @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 01:02 AM) Uribe has not shown squat in the past except he is a crummy player, especialy offensively. looks like someone forgot '04 and the fact that he had 3 years of 70+ RBIs. He may not be great but he has done enough.

QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 11:24 AM) JMO, but I don't see how stealing a base and scoring a run in the WS makes one a Top 25 favorite of all time. Honestly I think that should be reason enough. It was the Series winning run. Thats right, Willie Harris was the run that won us the World Series.
-
Willie Harris is quite possibly my favorite active player. I have no reason why but I have just always been a fan of his. But how in the hell does he have 12 homers this year? Is the NL really that bad?
-
I tend to stop in at grandstands or a vender before the game and get a new jersey T. Since I only have been to a handful games the last few years its not that crazy.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 16, 2008 -> 06:14 PM) That's wild he retired at the age of 32. More health problems for a good pitcher. I wonder what he's been doing the last few years? Counting his money, playing golf everyday or coaching somewhere? from his wiki page Going on a different path, Alex is doing radio and becoming active in politics in his hometown of Miami Beach, where he campaigned and helped elect its mayor. He is now the pitching coach at Archbishop McCarthy High School in Cooper City, Florida.

the Twins used to have all the first names that began with J. Justin, Joex2, Jasonx3, Josh, Johan, Jeff, Juan, and Jesse. hell, thats almost half a team right there
-
QUOTE (DABearSoX @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) I disagree, since I added my avatar Paulie has been on the upswing. It was all me plain and simple... I think I added mine about the same time

I've never seen hitters look so foolish at the plate as I did during Shingo's first year. They just couldn't wait long enough. It was an awesome season.
-
I was always a fan of him. It was nice to see he had a bit of a comeback a few years ago with the Dodgers.

QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 14, 2008 -> 12:01 AM) IIRC, the Sox lost 1-0, with Jose Valentin's error resulting in the unearned run. Didn't John Snyder actually out-duel Pedro that same year, or maybe the year before? must have been the year before because if I remember this right Snyder was dealt for Jose

All-Time Worst big-name players of the Sox history

QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) What about Crazy Carl? He was a pretty big name and never really did much with us. him and pods were pretty much our offense the first half of 05 until Konerko and Dye finally remembered they were allowed to use bats. -
After Washburn and Byrd, KW is looking at this list
earthshiner replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
no way in hell does KW ever get Padilla. There is so much bad blood there. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2008 -> 07:38 PM) Don't worry, Adam Russell is back baby! wow. it's like you knew... The vulture is such a good luck charm
-
wow!!! First win this year that had me jumping for joy. Has the Vulture earned all 4 victories like this? What an awesome job by the bullpen. Uribe made a hell of a play. BIG HRs by Paulie and Swish. great game.
-
he was a great announcer. RIP Skip.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:13 AM) So what number does Griffey wear? 24 is taken by Crede and I don't see him giving it up. 30 is take by Swisher, he seems like a team player but I know I wouldn't give up my number if someone else is cutting my playing time. 3 is taken by Harold Baines and is retired anyways. and 33 is taken by Vazquez
-
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 08:14 AM) Griffey has known about a deal to the Sox since the 600th homer? no lol, he has just known that he will probably be moved.
-
Chris De Luca, from the Sun times, is saying swish and paulie to platoon at first. Griffey will play center and has known since he hit his 600th that he will probably be traded somewhere. He thinks that BA is probably gone.
