  1. Wow I won, cheers fellas. I feel a bit of a fraud because I've hardly posted over the last few months. I'm afraid I've been busy with other stuff. Rest assured I'll be back full time when the season starts. Anyone interested in any more of those game by game starting pitcher banners again? Or do you still blame them for last years slumps?

    PS3

We can't get one over here until November. Is it as good as I hope it is? I managed to talk my son into not getting a 360 and sticking with the PS2 until the PS3 comes out. Did I do right?
  3. Sounds like I might have a nice time!
  4. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) There was a McFly song on the last Now comp that I got that is quite good. How is their album? Lightweight but uplifting. I have taken the piss out of my daughter about them for months, if she read this my life wouldn't be worth living!
  5. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jan 12, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) has anyone picked up the Lily Allen album I keep hearing about? I refere you to the above, it's good. Did you know that her Dad, Keith Allen used to be part of the Comic Strip, is now a mainstream actor over here, appeared on Park Life video, wrote and performed with New Order on World In Motion and as Fat Les released Vindaloo, he even had a part in Trainspotting.
  6. I'm embarresed to say that I have a soft spot for Lilly Allen at the moment and a newfound respect for (whispers) McFly! Not sure if anyone over there has come across McFly( I hope not).

  8. I've just been awarded an all expenses trip to Dubai by my company ( arn't I the smug one! ) and I wondered if anyone had ever been there before. If so could they tell me what to expect?
  9. Mmmmmm.... 2K or not 2k, that is the question.
  10. QUOTE(Cali @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 11:07 AM) Where's my "hasn't posted in like a year, but decides to randomly do so in an award thread" award? I get the shaft every year on that sonava b****.... Can I include myself in this catagory please.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) excellent. Do you have a US agent? Are you offering? Although 10% of nothing is not a great deal even using the current exchange rate.
  12. Anyone living in Chicago might like to look out for a couple of advertisments for the Chicago Library ( mentioning later opening times ). They have used this picture; One I took on my trip to Chicago earlier this year. Fame at last!
  13. OK, this is the reason I've not been around for a while. My son wants a base for christmas, so I've made loads of visits to local guitar shops and have got him a lovely red Fender Squire Jazz Base. But while I was there I couldn't help but get drawn towards the racks of electric guitars. What you need to know is that I was in a band as a youth, we were called Eddy Hernia and the Surgical Tweezers, we were HOT, we rocked in all the school halls around Leeds! Unfortunatly, when we were first married, christmas arrived and I had no money for presents for the wife, so I sold my lovely sunburst Ibanez and the wife had a lovely christmas. I've regreted it ever since. Now I've always dreamt of a Fender Strat, but could never afford one. But now I can, I am pleased to announce that I am now the prowd owner of a beautiful Black/White American Series Fender Stratacaster. She is called Sally because since getting it I have had it in my hands all the time and my wife is forever asking me if I am going to put her down ( or lay her down----Sally-----Black and White---- Clapton? Get it? ). I have practised 4 to 5 hours a day since I got it and am starting to remember how to play. This time around though I have booked a dozen lessons starting next Wednesday so maybe one day I'll be able to play well. Well enough for my living room anyway. So that is why I've been absent for a while, I hope you all understand.
  14. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 06:31 PM) Hey dylan and/or DePloderer, do you know how the Waits cd set is ordered? Is it somewhat chronological or anything, or is it strictly a sort of theme, and i'm missing it. That said: Fish in the Jailhouse Tom Waits, the great American performer and songwriter, releases a 3CD set titled "Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards" on Monday 20th November 2006. It's a wide-ranging collection of 54 songs - including 30 new recordings – equaling over three hours of rare and never-before heard music. The set comes complete with a 94-page booklet. Each of the three CDs is separately grouped and sub-titled - "Brawlers", "Bawlers" and "Bastards" – to capture the full spectrum of Waits' ranging and roving musical styles. "Brawlers" is chock full of raucous blues and full-throated juke joint stomp; "Bawlers" comprises Celtic and country ballads, waltzes, lullabies, piano and classic lyrical Waits' songs while "Bastards" is filled with experimental music and strange tales. In addition to the new work, "Orphans" features a number of songs originally recorded for the cinema, the theatre and other projects but which now find a home on a Waits' album for the first time. They include his unique interpretations of songs by such extraordinarily diverse talents as The Ramones, Daniel Johnston, Kurt Weill & Bertolt Brecht, Leadbelly and Jack Kerouac. Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, his wife and long time collaborator, again produced "Orphans", his first release since 2004's much-lauded "Real Gone". Waits and Brennan were recently named number four in a list of the "100 Best Living Songwriters" published by America's Paste magazine. "In literature only a handful of writers have pulled off the near impossible. In music, it happens on every Tom Waits recording," said the magazine. There you go then.
  15. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Oct 19, 2006 -> 07:23 AM) Just got my hands on Tom Waits album Orphans - Brawlers, Bawlers and Bastards (No. It's not out yet.). It's absolutely amazing. Has to be the album of the year. I listened to the single on Sunday, can't wait for the CD to come out. I saw Alabama 3 on Saturday night, outstanding. To those not in the know, the music playing over the opening credits to The Suprano's is Woke up this Morning by them. They're not from Alabama (somewhere in the midlands in the UK) and there arn't three of them.
  16. Just got the new Trey Anastasio CD, Bar 17, it is sublime. Trey back to his best after wandering through Jazz, pop and mainstream MOR on his last few solo albums. Phish on phreinds.
  17. OK Go video, not sure if it should be here or "stupid, hilarious......." LINK Good isn't it?

  20. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 3, 2006 -> 07:42 AM) Looking for an update for BamaHoosier. Might be under BhamAce. Can't recall which was account name and which was screen name. Well arn't I the smog one then.
  21. Thank you, my cash has arrived, lets see how long I can hold onto it. We should run a sweep on who cashes out with the most money, or more likely who lasts the longest. PartyForFree any chance of a similar deal with Backgammon? Now there's a game I can play.
  22. This has got to be the funniest thread in ages! GO! Redandwhite!
  23. QUOTE(PartyForFree @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) Email your Party Poker account name, email address, mailing address and phone number to [email protected] and we'll manually approve your account. Please reference your screen name at Soxtalk as well. We've had to limit it to North America due to a lot of fraud internationally. While I watch Coronation Street and Most Haunted regularly, I'm not familiar with "bring and buy" sales...care to elaborate? You DO NOT have to make a deposit. We've sent your information off to Party Poker. Once they confirm that you signed up with our bonus code, we'll transfer you the money. Probably Tuesday. You can play the Rookie Freerolls in the meantime if you want. You can win real money. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) Will do. Bring and buy..........charity thing, bring stuff to sell and buy other stuff, all proceeds to some charity. I must have done something very wrong. Still says my account is play money only. Should I delete all programmes from my PC and start again?
