Good evening all. I just got in, what have I missed? -
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) I just got free skybox tix to the NIN show this Saturday. Apparantly they are playing with Bauhaus...arent they a early 80's band? I'm confused by the whole thing. Should I be excited about this at all or just hope for good food? Wow Bauhaus, now your talking. I remember the first time I saw them, they scared the s*** out of me, I was 16 and had never heard of the word Goth. It's fair to say that they were the forerunners of all that is Goth. If you like your music loud and filled with vampires and bats (and who doesn't?) you'll love them Here's a link to their site. Bauhaus biog.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 05:04 PM) I saw it on Amazon, but as of now, it is wallowing in "Import Hell". It's such a shame. I was just lamenting the fact that Hardcore Superstar have no US deal. They are a fairly big band in the rest of the world, but for some reason no US label will touch them. If you go to the second link of my origional "Answer" post, the stuff recorded last October at the Albert studios is worth downloading (for free!), particularly "Keep Believin'"

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) I missed your original post, so I just checked now. Yeah...I think they're pretty cool. LOVE the slide used in "Into The Gutter"!!! Wow..."Preachin'" is friggin' KILLER! Yeah, think I need this one. Thanks Plod! They also remind me of Humble Pie, and The Critic knows how I feel about Pie. Glad you liked them. I reckon "Preachin" is probably one of my favourite tracks as well. You should be able to pick the album up from Amazon, if not let me know and I'll help you out.

While waiting to be picked up by my mum after a Steve Hackett (once of Genesis) gig, my freind and I got into a conversation with Steve and his brother. We ended up giving them a lift into Leeds, this is in my mums car remember, possibly the most cool/uncool night of my teenage years.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) Well I got to see The Who yesterday and while they were great I was completely blown away by a new band from Ireland. If you like your Led Zep,Free, Sabbath etc check them out here and here. Outstanding. What? No comments? Come on fellas, if you were around in the 70's and like your Free, Grand Funk Railroad, Aerosmith etc, listen to The Answer at either of the links above and you will not be disappointed. Think of The Darkness but without the tongue in cheek spandex. They are currently supporting Whitesnake and blowing them away. There debut album (out this week) has been reviewed by Kerrang! magazine who call it the best debut album ever.

QUOTE(zygoat @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) we go 9 in a row and lose one in extra innings, and after all that they gain a game on us?? what a f***ing tough team to catch up too I picked a Tigers game in August as I wanted my first game to be a positive experience and thought it might be an easy win. How wrong could I be? Looks like it could be a crunch game now. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 05:15 AM) IMO Ecuador are a real chance to upset England tonight. England are going with a 4-5-1 formation, with Rooney up front. It's a lot to ask a guy who's not really match fit to lead the attack on his own. If Ecaudor can show the form they had in the 1st 2 games of the tournament, they'll definitely trouble England tomorrow night, and the Poms looked susceptible at the back in their last game against Sweden. Hush your mouth ..............you................you.............you..........Antipodean.......person. Ugh. Just hold your tongue, Saint Gerrard will rally his troops and we will be victorious! -
QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) If you were interviewing someone.. and they said "I don't feel I have enough exp to do this job", would you say "ok.. bubye..." or consider hiring and training them. Say their proficiency level was about 70%... Bye Bye Baby.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) Jack White is in the Raconteurs. Brendan Benson as well, if that's who I'm thinking of. Kind of an indie rock supergroup. I told my wife that it was him, They were introduced as a "brand new band from California". Obviously an IN joke and I'm just not in. I realy liked what I saw.

Any news on when we'll get the skins back? Getting a bit bored of the Crede banner. -
Does anybody know anything about a new (at least to me) band from the States called The Raconteurs? I caught them on a show over here and they struck me as a great cross between modern day indie and classic 70's rock along the lines of Deep Purple, Led Zep et al.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) Could you explain what that means a bit for the soccer impaired? Can't help you, aparently we only understand 4-4-2 here in England. -
Wow I'm going to see The Who this weekend. I can't believe it! It has all worked out perfectly. My 14 year old daughter has been giving me major grief of late because I won't let her go to gigs at night, recent requests have included Ramstein and Silverstein so any of you who are up on your Emo will understand where I'm coming from. Well I saw an advert for a festival containing a number of her favourites including the Zutons, The Flaming Lips and The Super Furry Animals, Headlined by The Who. Job done, she can get lost all day with her mates and I can mix with mine, only a mobile phone call away. Best thing is the festivals only 10 minutes from my house. Peace has been restored to the Deploderer house.
