  1. Dude, I was too. I was afraid to say it. I'm happy we kept Cutler though.
  2. I'm not a libertarian. I'm not trying to be edgy when I say this, but libertarians are way caught up in trying to prove that what they want benefits the greater whole. It won't. People will suffer pretty hard if the safety net is cut out from under them. I just couldn't give a care in the world about those people and whether they can't find work or put food on the table or whatever does not matter in the slightest to me. In the long this will benefit the country as those people either adapt to a world where they have to earn something or just die off, but the transition will be nasty. Libertarians idiotically believe everything will be perfect right away.
  3. I lived in Cook County for 24 years. The devil I know is f***ing horrifying.
  4. This has nothing do with the little feud between the LDS and gays. Even if that's turned into a contest of who can be whinier and pushier.
  5. Yea I'm starting to think this PFF grading is 100% Grade A Bulls***. Seriously, Webb was awful. Painfully bad. Penalties, whiffs, just awful. They forced him to take a pay cut then cut him anyways (lol, best moment of the off season by far). Complete turd, Mills is much better.
  6. No straight man on earth really, really likes women. Gay it is, Aaron.

  8. Milsurp baby! But yea, does Cook Co still not allow civ ranges? That's gonna have to change.
  9. If you bought the gun I'd hope you just put a few rounds through it at the range. Just so you have an idea of how/if it works.
  10. Yea I never faulted the natives for fighting back. Im guessing you don't either. So if (when) it gets ugly I'll remember you brought up the comparison.
  11. I fully anticipate the "SO THEY SHOULD JUST BE BIGOTS THEN UGH DUKE YOU ARE SO" response that entirely misses the point of the point of my post and actually confirms the total lack of cultural sensitivity you advertise yourselves as having.
  12. I'm in Utah a lot. I like Utah a lot, I almost picked it over Oregon but things get in the way of other things. Utah recently had a judge allow gay marriage. It pissed off damn near everyone in Utah. The LDS for obvious reasons but for many others it was clear it had little to do with gays getting married. Out West a funny thing has been happening, Californians are fleeing their mess and settling down in traditionally conservative states. A lot of the times they get politically involved and start changing things. They've already done this Colorado, and its fairly well publicized. Essentially what made the natives like where they lived is being attacked by people who are making the same mistakes they did before. Its an invasive culture that is not welcome to people. A lot of people in Utah are worried that they're next. That this gay marriage thing will shoot up like a beacon for liberals and soon so much of what they love about Utah (like no gun laws, low taxes, pretty small and ineffective state government) will go away. That's why they don't want it. That's a major peril of gays hopping on the Democrat bandwagon so monolithically, its not always about gay rights as much as it is about stopping the policies that follow. If you want acceptance everywhere from everyone you have to divorce yourself from the Democrats. Stop being so confrontational with places you have no understanding of. Because when the first anti-gay hate crime gains national news out of Utah, I don't think it'll be motivated as much by homophobia than a fear that what those people love is under threat.
  13. Neighborgall had like the best stuff in history. There's a reason he stuck around so long.
  14. "Well Kirk, I think if he just gave himself to the lord a *little* more on that play they would've won the game"
  15. What's fantastic about that OL continuity statistic is not that we were just healthy, that's dumb luck, but that there was no impetus to bench anyone. We have 3 (4 when Slauson re-ups) starting offensive linemen, isn't that awesome? We can weather ups and downs and those are still our 5 guys. That's why you believe in Phil Emery. I thought it would've taken years to build the OL into what it is today and the dude did it in one off season.
  16. Honestly, I have to wait a couple weeks for the emotional gag reflex I have towards our safeties wears off before I can actually decide what I really want out of the draft. Because right now priority #1 feels like get someone to take Conte's job.
  17. Look, aside from Wilson and the OL I don't see anyone getting much better on offense. Jeffrey could (wouldn't that be ridiculous?) but I'm not counting on it. The defense will not be healed in one off season, so it makes sense to make a move for a guy like Thomas who could propel the offense up another level which would in turn make things a little easier on what will be a below-average if not outright bad defense. If you can give Trestman more weapons on the cheap you do it. Aside from Forte we don't have any really dynamic players, I mean the receivers are great don't get me wrong, but they arent dynamic. Thomas can be, you add a guy with his speed and skill set and use him right we've got another guy with enormous big play potential.
  18. What I'd like to see done: Resign Slauson Draft De'Anthony Thomas in the 3rd Solve #3 WR internally, push Marquess Wilson into that role, keep Weems #4 and scour around the late rounds or UDFA for a few guys who can compete for the #5 and #6 spots in camp. C is tough, I don't think we'll find a starter outside the first 3 rounds and with Thomas already you can't use 2/3 of those picks on the offense. I'm not using any more money after Cutler, McCown and Slauson. So you either find a Jordan Mills or go in with a wild card there. I think its a given McCown comes back on a team friendly deal, he had a lot of fun and $1m ain't bad. Cutler goes nowhere, that is becoming obvious already.
  19. The offense is now without a starting G and C. There is also no backup RB and no #3 WR. The defense needs work badly, but Emery cannot pull an Angelo here and just totally neglect the O.
  20. Here's what the Bears need, this assumes basically everyone walks and Peppers is cut. 2 safeties 2 CB's 2, maybe 3, LB's 1 DE 2 DT's Right now, I'd say its likely one of Tillman and Jennings is back on a 1 year deal. Perhaps Ratliff will stay in Chicago. Bostic is a bust and Briggs is old but we really have no choice but to go with them. So revised its 2 safeties 1 CB 1 LB 1 DE 1 DT That is more than half the defense where entering free agency and the draft we have no literally nobody. And of the starters you do have its Shea McClellin (teetering on bust), Bostic (bust), old Briggs and an average DT that can beat a double team. I think Tillman is a good enough player to mask his age, so I hope he's back. The point, you don't care what position the help comes from. You have not one above average defender coming back next season except maybe Tillman and absolute trash in terms of young guys who could break out (Shea). They need talent, the best talent they can get their hands on. If you grade Dix as a 90 and Louis Nix as a 84 (confusing names, also that's just an arbitrary grading scale I just made up) you take Dix. Bears can't afford to get cute with positions as they are weak everywhere on D.
  21. Naturally this is best-case scenario. Biggest need, best at position and could be overall BPA at 14. I would rather have him than throw a gajillion dollars at Byrd.
  22. I've tried simulating it at the range. Just get myself in a panicked frame of mind and work from scratch. There were times I could even turn the safety off or chamber a round without f***ing up. Its just hard to do with a handgun, ergonomics have come a long way to make it easier but you still feel like you could drop it in a nasty situation. I honestly should've just bought a glock considering this toy is for self defense primarily, but oh god that glorious German craftsmanship and .45 ACP won me over.
  23. I had to write off a load of beer once (44,000 lbs). All neat little six packs, they froze and burst in -20 degree temps when the reefer batteries failed and couldn't jolt the unit back on. Most of the beer was salvageable (at least I thought so) but the customer wanted none of it,
  24. Because handguns are tough to shoot if you're rushed, try hurriedly mag dumping a .45 and see how well you do. You might graze your target once or twice. Honestly, if someone tried breaking into my truck my (shiny, new self purchased Duke Christmas present) Sig p220 would be more effective at very loudly scaring them away. The chances of me hitting them even in confined quarters are slim.
  25. Its a little bit more than what's linked. The twitter of the dude sounds like he broke up with Rodgers and is heartbroken over it. We'll know soon enough as people are probably digging. Deadspin would love to out him.
