Spring Training TV broadcast and Internet streaming schedule up
Just a little reminder that WGN games will not air outside the Chicago market anymore. Although I'd rather watch BTVS than the Cubs....it really sucks we get screwed out of White Sox broadcasts

Spring Training
I've unfortunately missed the last couple years in Arizona, but I'm so excited about the upcoming season that I think a trip is mandatory. I'm looking at going the second week in March to take in the Coyotes vs Blackhawks game as well. Anyone else headed out there that time? I'm thinking about getting a seat Sunday in the Eighteen / 76 Legends Deck. Is this new? (I don't remember it before). If anyone has any experience with this section, please let me know.

QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 01:21 AM) I mean, we have to be close to being done right? What do we have left in terms of spending money? Rick is not going to make all the moves he has and than leave the last couple of holes unfilled. I still see another reliever being signed and a new left fielder. Make those moves and I think we can live with Flowers and Gillispie. Gotta start making plans to attend spring training tomorrow. I'm soooooooo excited!

Predict The Next Move
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 27, 2014 -> 08:27 AM) the idea of trading Danks has been tried last yr. this yr, i honestly think he will be with the sox. to re-establish his value. however in this scenario, it just make perfect sense. the only problem i see, if there was a discussion, how will Bos deal with that 2nd yr of Danks contract? They can either write him a check for the second year or do direct deposit. It all depends on how they normally do payroll.

2015 Offseason
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2014 -> 04:39 PM) By position, the players that I wonder if the Sox will go after via FA or trade: C- Grandal, Castro 1B/DH- Butler, VMart, Alvarez OF- Ackley, Saunders, N. Cruz, Crawford/Ethier, Bruce, C. Dickerson SP- Samardzija, Gallardo, Latos, Leake RP- Robertson, Soria, Maurer, A. Miller, Justin Wilson, Rex Brothers If we could pick up all those players, I'd give Hahn a B+ for the offseason. He'd still have to fire Ventura to give us a shot to win and earn an A.

Sept 23 game thread vs Detroit
QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 09:46 PM) You added the caveat of "in games where he pitched more than 1 inning". Your original statement was.... No where did you say "in games where he pitched more than 1 inning" which again would be silly because that situation happened a grand total of 1 time. If you are going to quote me, don't be douchebag and edit my original statements. Here is an unedited quote of what I said above..... The fact that Ventura saw he was not capable of doing this, avoided doing so again for months, and than did it tonight makes him a bonehead. That fact that you want to defend him by distorting what I said makes you a douchebag.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 09:20 PM) Ha now you add that caveat ......With that added caveat you're right but it also only happened 1 damn time so it's not like there's a trend there for RV to go off of....You're still bein ridiculous. What caveat did I add? That was my statement all along. Quit being a douchebag and claiming I said things I didn't. The facts support what I said.

Sept 23 game thread vs Detroit
QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 09:06 PM) The troll is weak in this one.... Sept. 10 1 IP no hits 0 runs Sept. 11 1 IP 1 hit 0 runs Aug. 30 1 IP 1 hit 0 runs Aug 31 1 IP no hits 0 runs Aug 19 1 IP no hits 0 runs Aug 20 1 IP 1 hit 0 runs July 5 1/3 IP no hits no runs July 6 2 IP no hits no runs Jun 24 1IP no hits no runs Jun 25 2 IP 1 hit no runs May 26 1 IP no hits no runs May 27 2 IP 1 hit no runs May 19 2/3 IP no runs no hits May 20 1 IP no hits no runs May 21 2/3 IP no runs no hits April 29 1IP no runs no hits April 30 2.1 IP no runs no hits He pitched one inning in the first appearance every case. My facts never lie. He has never come back all season without rest after pitching more than 1 inning and had success.

Sept 23 game thread vs Detroit
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 08:41 PM) Fair point again. But seriously, what pitcher do you think could have held the Tigers in the ninth? I didn't like seeing Petricka trot out there after excelling last night, but again, who should Robin have gone to that would have most definitely mowed down the Tigers? I hope Hahn realizes the bullpen has been bad from start to finish this year. Occasional highlights from them, but nobody has looked like a prime prospect in the pen. I would have taken my chances with Snodgrass tonight over Petricka. After pitching more than 1 inning, Petricka has not come back a single time this year without rest where he has been effective. He's given up at least one run in this situation every time. The manager has to know his staff and know that this move was stupid tonight.

Sept 23 game thread vs Detroit
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2014 -> 08:29 PM) Don't know why this angers me so much. I guess he was trying to establish Petricka as somebody special the final week of the season. Not gonna happen. Our bullpen has no special pitchers. The fact that we have a bonehead for a manager should anger every Sox fan. Take the 30 games we have lost this year solely because of him and convert them to wins. Do this and we would have clinched 10 days ago instead of playing spoiler at this point in the season.

We should lose to Oakland today on purpose
The A's are in a serious race for a wild card spot and it would be a shame for Adam Dunn to miss out on the postseason. He accommodated the trade for us when he didn't have to do so and its time for us to repay the favor. I know Sale is pitching so it may be a little tough, but load the lineup with scrubs and go to the bullpen early. Help make sure the donkey plays in October (and if we can eliminate Detroit in the process, its even better)

Do the Sox have any plans to honor Adam Dunn next week?
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 03:48 PM) I don't think I'm wrong in reading this thread as sarcastic. I'm not being sarcastic at all. As I mentioned in the original post, i don't think he did enough to get his number retired so I'm not advocating that action. However, He had was loved by all his team mates and most of the fans during his time in Chicago. He hit some impressive bombs and even gave his best on the mound when the manager asked him to do so. Not doing something to say "thanks for being a great member of the White Sox organization" would truly give a negative reflection on the team.

Do the Sox have any plans to honor Adam Dunn next week?
I know its short notice, but Oakland is visiting the Cell for a 4 game series next week. Not sure if Adam's number is worthy of retiring, but it would be nice for the organization to do something for one of the team's greatest home run hitters of recent history. Hope that Brooks Boyer and company are able to put together something which allows the organization and the fans to say thanks to the big guy.

Dunn traded to Athletics for Nolan Sanburn
I hope this doesn't hurt our chances of signing him to a new contract in the off-season. I know Dunn would have given us a "home town" discount previously, but one has to wonder how this trade impacts the viability of that happening.
