QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 06:51 PM) Know who's ahead of us in both the wild card and the central? KC. They held him out of the first series to face KC. You're exactly right. KC is ahead of us in the standings, but behind the Detroit. It will much easier to catch them than it will be to catch the Tigers. However, moving past the Royals but not the Tigers still leaves us out of the playoffs (with a worse draft pick). For the best chance at the postseason, you have to pitch your best pitchers against the teams you need to make up the most ground.

I am appalled that our pitching staff was set up to have Sale skip this series and let Noesi throw batting practice to the Tigers. We all know that it will be easier to win the division than make the wild card due to the number of teams to pass in the standings. A sweep of this series would have greatly enhanced those chances, but it appears now that the best we can do is win the series 2-1 (which only gains one game in the standings). Ventura should have had this series highlighted when setting up the rotation after the all star break and Sale should have been one of those on the mound (with Noesi not throwing this series). Just another example of mismanagement by our leader Robin and further proof we will never win a World Series with him at the helm.

I can't believe that Robin didn't ask him to start wearing glasses earlier in the season. He should have been told "either wear your glasses or go home"

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 06:49 PM) If sin city had said Robin is just plain bad maybe there wouldn't be so many posts calling it a stupid thread. Maybe some of you can manage to read between the lines. It doesn't take a baseball genius to see Robin's been caught a few times with his pants down ala Steve Lyons , totally oblivious to what's going on around him or incapable of thinking more than a few steps ahead. Some of the best posters on here can see it and I believe they are totally objective. If sin city is trolling then I'd have to say so are the ones who will defend Robin no matter what . It's true the bullpen has been in constant flux and the bench doesn't have much flexibility so Robin is limited in his moves that will work out well thus leaving him open to more criticism. That, however, does not absolve him of doing the best he can with what he has and many of us do not see him doing that. It's not a few times....its 2-3 times per week. If it was a game or two, it could be forgiven. However, when it happens over and over again with the clown never learning a lesson, its time for him to go. Loved Robin as a player......can't stand him as a manager.

Robin cost us another game today with his idiotic moves and its getting frustrating. As I noted in yesterday's game thread, I feel he's personally cost us at least 15 games this season. Instead of having the best record in baseball, we are struggling to reach .500. If he's not the worst, he has to be in the bottom 5 of all time. I really hope this organization realizes that in the final months of season and makes a change before opening day 2015.

Our f***tard manager costs us another W. Thanks Robin for taking a team that should be running away with the division and making us a below .500 club.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 06:35 PM) Yep, this is a World Series team except for the manager. Will you be at Zanie's anytime soon? Thats not just my opinion.....records will dictate that fact. Robin has personally cost us at least 15 wins this season (real number is probably somewhere between 20 and 25). Using the bare minimum, our record would be 65-39 without those bonehead decisions which would be the best record in baseball. The best trade we could do this week would be to find a taker for Robin. However, since that isn't going to happen, I hope we go out and block a few holes which help prevent Batman's sidekick from ruining this entire season.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 06:22 PM) Yankees, Blue Jays and Mariners all at +5. If we could win tonight and then complete the sweep tmrw, we'd finish the weekend at only 4 games back for the WC. Looks like all of our moves (Dunn, Beckham, DeAza, Viciedo) will come in August. I hope you are wrong. I know we are playing like one of the best teams in baseball right now, but it would still be nice to add a player or two before the deadline. Robin's incompetence has put us in a hole we have to dig out of, but the talent on this team is capable of winning a World Series if Robin lets the right players decide the outcome of games.

Undefeated since the All Star break! Looks like we'll be buyers after all!

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 19, 2014 -> 07:39 PM) lol Whats so funny? That's 2 games in a row that Tyler has come through with an RBI hit. I'm no fan of Flowers by any means, but I'd love to see his bat come to life in the second half of the season.

I just got in and checked the box score......I see that Flowers has another RBI again tonight. Maybe we don't need to rush out and sign AJ.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:05 PM) Low inside change to a lefty Tyler, really? Tyler is a worthless piece of crap. If we tried to trade him, no one would even give us a fresh bag of s*** for him.

Flowers appealing to first base ump with a lefty up.....haha

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) Damn forgot it was a day game. How'd they score? A runner crossed homeplate.

Time for a 5-4-3 triple play

Come on Moses. Part the infield with a ground ball up the middle.

Jose showing some speed!

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 03:28 PM) It would be pretty cool to have 2 pitchers with ERAs under 3 at the ASB. Quintana's was over 4 after that one inning start vs KC If Qunitana gets the perfect game today, you'd have to imagine he'd be under consideration for the All Star game if any other AL pitchers get scratched.

I sure hope our bullpen doesn't ruin this perfect game. Let's hope Q has the arm strength to finish the job and retire all 27 batters.

Nice win for the Sox. Now time to get drunk and blow some s*** up! Have a safe and happy 4th of July everyone.

This Buehrle guy works quick and is effective.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 23, 2014 -> 07:50 PM) I agree, and I feel the same about Quintana. Maybe have Caroll make a start in one of their places, and during a week in which we have an off-day, skip one of them. And Sale should be done for the night tonight as well....no need to have him throw 120 pitches again. Start the rest immediately and protect our #1 arm.

I know its tough to do, but I think we need to skip Sale's next turn up in the rotation. The continued over use of him by Ventura has caught up with us and the extended rest is needed.

Adam seems to be pressing in these type of ABs.....I still think it would help him out quite a bit if they'd get the contract extension done soon.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2014 -> 03:11 PM) No chance of 20 homers. The Captain would have 20 SBs as well and be in the 20-20 club.
