QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 03:27 PM) This would have been so cool. Imagine if they played in a field with a 250 foot fence? There'd be so many homers. I'd love to watch that. Why not play with a 16 inch softball as well? As big of a joke that MLB has made this series into, you might as well take it further.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) Didn't the Expos play a couple of games in Puerto Rico or something like that in a real small stadium? I think that was Cuba now that you mention it.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) I'm not certain that MLB needs to get "facts out there" in this situation. They should be exploring multiple options, listing them just adds to the uncertainty and speculation. The leadership should be internal. Let's look at unintended consequences of a couple options. The O's forfeit the series. Next time, teams will fight to play games in this situation potentially placing fans and players in a dangerous situation. Play the games in Washington, Chicago, anywhere there is an empty stadium. Deep economic loss to the area. Remember how MLB owners argue that a stadium adds to much to the local economy? They can't have it both ways, losing a home game has the opposite affect. Teams shouldn't be punished for doing the right thing especially when it involves the health and safety of players and fans. Let's look at the unintended consequences of not playing these games this week..... If either team is still in a race for the playoffs when the calendar turns to October (lets hope the Sox clinch before that time!), these games will have to be made up after the end of the regular season when they are meaningless for the other team (and it delays the playoffs from starting a few days while putting the Sox / Orioles at a competitive disadvantage as they have to pitch their top guys while other teams rest). This really is a no win situation....but precedent has been set in the past to move games and that routine should have been followed here.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 01:30 PM) Has a MLB game been played at a venue with only 7000 seats (assume modern times, like after 1950). The Oakland A's played the first 16 games of the 1996 season at Cashman Field in Las Vegas - capacity 9334 (over 12,000 with standing room and outfield grass seating). That's the closest I'm aware of to 7000.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 05:46 PM) just stop. you don't have a grasp on the situation. it's much, much, MUCH worse than 'throwing some tear gas' and dispersing the crowd. I admit that I know nothing about whats going on today (thats why I asked). However, when I've participated in previous riots, tear gas works. That stuff is wicked and you just want to get out of there when it is released.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 05:42 PM) Then you really need to turn on a tv. I've never seen anything like this in my life, not in the US. I don't have a TV at work (I'm in Las Vegas and still have over an hour left until I go home). If its that out of hand, just throw some tear gas or mace and disperse the crowd. Letting it swell is a mistake by law enforcement and canceling them game is giving them additional reason to "celebrate".

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 05:27 PM) Riots. Turn on news channel. I don't have a TV at work....thats why I was asking. They are really canceling this game though over a few people getting a bit raucous? Sounds like an over reaction to me.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 27, 2015 -> 05:25 PM) This was a good choice. I wonder if MLB will try to find an alternate site to play these games somewhere else. Baltimore isn't safe. What happened in Baltimore that is making it unsafe? Sorry if this question sounds stupid....but I've been working all day and am not sure what took place.

I was hoping for a few more runs so we could plunk Hosmer his next AB!

Come on Tyler....keep it going! Don't stop now!

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 26, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) tie it up with a fly ball! Go up 3 with a real long fly ball!

Come on Avi......make em pay!

Suck it Royals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) Bottom of the 9th in a tied game. He felt it necessary to make his way onto the field, if it's close enough where he's leaving the dugout, no excuse not to challenge. None. Especially when his shortstop (one of the team leaders) is adamant that the tag was made. That play would have been challenged by every manager in the league except one.....unfortunately, we have the one not smart enough to do so.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 12:56 PM) Really hope they put that documentary online so us that that don't live in Chicago can watch I'd be happy if they sell it on DVD (or Blu Ray) at a reasonable price point. I'd love to own a copy of it .

Just saw that Bartolo Colon got his first RBI in 10 years....looks like hitters are coming out of slumps all over the place.

Only 2 hits all season this far...fire Greg Walker

I think the hats would have looked much cooler if they had a shark bite out of the bill similar to these.... Landshark Hat

How did Will Ferrell not make the list???

I think a $10,000 prize would make this contest real exciting.

Just a little reminder that WGN games will not air outside the Chicago market anymore. Although I'd rather watch BTVS than the Cubs....it really sucks we get screwed out of White Sox broadcasts

Bacon Slayer is back!!!

I've unfortunately missed the last couple years in Arizona, but I'm so excited about the upcoming season that I think a trip is mandatory. I'm looking at going the second week in March to take in the Coyotes vs Blackhawks game as well. Anyone else headed out there that time? I'm thinking about getting a seat Sunday in the Eighteen / 76 Legends Deck. Is this new? (I don't remember it before). If anyone has any experience with this section, please let me know.

QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 01:43 AM) This is about to get even more crazy once Lester signs. Hahn's getting Lester too????? You got to be f'n kidding me!!!!
