  1. Tonite was a solid win. Bellinelli is doing very well right now, taking advantage of the starting opportunity

  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 02:32 AM) I was listening to Huckabee tonight on O'Reilly. Say what you want about him, he made a couple interesting points. One was that you can't stop these kind of things. As he stayed it it is an issue of the heart. His claim was that people who are evil and want to do horrific things will do them. Now admittedly this 20 year old punk killer had it easy since apparently his mom owned the guns. Another question I want to ask the good people of Sox talk. We have our disagreements about Ozzie, but I respect many many people on here and want your opinion. This killer was 20 years old, raised in the current public school system. My question to you is: Is the fact all mention of God has been removed from society, the fact kids today are raised that there is no God and God is a dirty word (you won't hear the word in public schools of course) and there is no accountability to a higher power, that the younger generation is being raised in an unhealthy way, a way that will lead to more of these situations? God-fearing people do not kill kindergartners for gosh sakes. Also, the way Johnny is raised today ... Johnny can do no wrong. Johnny is always right. Johnny gets equal playing time with all the other kids on his team; Johnny gets a trophy for finishing last. Is there something wrong with our society in the way we are raising our kids??? I know I didn't explain this well enough, maybe somebody can read what I am trying to say. Tell me ... what is going on today?? Why these mass killings? What is the fundamental issue? Did I get it right or not? I will tell you this, if this continues??? In 20 years we will be waiting 90 minutes to get into a church; 90 minutes to get into a movie theatre, 90 minutes to enter a hospital, it'll take 5 hours to get on a plane by the time you arrive at the airport; 90 minutes to get into the doors of a sports event. There will be so much security it will make your head spin. I'm sick over this. Yes I had tears stream down my face today. When I thought about the scene in the classroom as the punk reloaded his gun, the terror on the kids who had yet to be killed. The pain thinking about the parents of those kids!!!! I'm so sad and pissed and sick over this. Many despicable things have been done in the name of god, including killing infants, toddlers, children. Huckabee is a moron to raise that issue, it had nothing to do with what happened.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 05:57 PM) If Deb was so slick, she would have drank the bottle and then thrown it out the window, not left the evidence in her car that she was about to possibly get in to a fatal accident in. Again, she left it so Dexter would think Hannah did it.
  5. No suspension for Quinton Dial for his above the shoulders, helmet to helmet hit on Georgia QB Aaron Murray. So, in the NFL this costs a player probably at least 15K. In college, no flag is thrown, and no penalty levied by the conference. Makes total sense.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:12 AM) They definitely have done a great job with the imagery and have not backed down because budget. Almost every place they have "created" has been fairly accurate to what I imagined it to look like (except for Harrenhal, quite different from what I imagined). Harrenhal, is that the place that Arya was taken after she escaped Kings Landing? Where she became the servant girl?

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 11:01 AM) Fairly happy, they do some things amazingly well (the characters have almost all been pinpoint). They do change some of the action scenes, and not always for the better. I am freakin' pumped for season 3, since the 3rd book was by far the best. I'm a bit wary of what they'll do beyond that as books 4/5 were actually supposed to be 1 book but were separated more by characters than timeline (combined I'd say its around 2k pages). They haven't really let me down in a big way yet, so I'm excited to see how they handle that situation. I'd say I'm more disappointed with the fallout after book 3 in terms of quality than I am with the book to TV conversion. I have really been impressed with how it looks like a movie as opposed to a tv series

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) I've been craving more GOT, I'd take either the next season or next book. Preferably the next book but who knows when Martin gets that done. are you happy with the Series translation from the books?
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 10:05 AM) That's still every coach. well then they all are horses asses and i dont like them
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 09:30 AM) It's not just Lovie, when it comes to injuries all coaches get weird and don't want any info out. Oh i know, but with Lovie its like he doesnt want anyone else to play the game. He wants to mess with everyone, but get all indignant and angry when they play along and do their jobs.

  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 08:05 AM) ? He's listed properly on their injury report as having a knee injury. He is referring to how Lovie ripped brad biggs for reporting that Alshon Jeffery had his knee scoped before the team released the information. He said Biggs reported it the wrong way(ie. before the team said anything) Lovie really is a horses ass to reporters in the media room when it comes to injuries and such
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) How often do we shoot opposing fans on the L Surveillance video of the shooting
  14. That's actually a good zinger by urlacher, lol. Packers did win without him
  15. You have to give Moreno credit, he isnt shy about spending money
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 11:42 AM) Yeah, so it's rather clear that fans from Philly are nuts. So perhaps the Chicago fans should have done what any smart visiting fan does after your team comes in someone else's house and wins. STFU and be courteous. Those guys live in West Philly, they should know their own peeps
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 08:15 AM) Still won't make them trade him for 3 years. I wouldnt say that is entirely true. We have seen plenty of players pout their way out of a team. I just dont think Love is that type of person/player
  18. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 11:24 PM) If the world doesn't end in 2012, I guess. There's a chance we buy him out sooner We are a half hour away from escaping apocalypse, I think we will make it. Everything I have read indicates it is in Mirotics best interest to wait until at least 2015 in order to escape the rookie wage scale. The buyout doesn't matter I hope I am wrong, I would love to see him stateside
  19. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 11:05 PM) No worries, we got Mirotic coming over soon. AKA the next Dirk Nowitzki 2015 is soon?
  20. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) Transformers meets Godzilla? Mechs vs monsters, Guillermo del toro, count me in
  21. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 06:39 PM) Kirk signed for 2/8, so, yeah. Ah, I was under the impression it was 2/6M, but still 2 million shouldn't be the deal breaker
  22. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) The way I understand it is that The Bulls offered the Grizzlies a sign and trade and it didn't work out. The only way they could get him was through a S&T. And we all know the luck the Bulls have had working out trades with the Grizzlies... I think that is only the speculation from the article. Mayo ended up signing 2/8 mil, second year being player option. I think the Bulls could have paid that without a S&T
  23. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 06:22 PM) I'll just copy pasta it "O.J. Mayo appears a longshot for Bulls Yes, Mayo and Derrick Rose are buddies and they’re both part of the same star-studded offseason workout group that trains in Los Angeles. Unless Mayo elects to accept a pay cut while taking the Bulls’ long-term potential into account, however, Chicago doesn’t appear to be his landing spot. As it stands, the Bulls would likely have a shot to acquire Mayo if they choose not to match the lucrative offer sheet Omer Asik will soon sign with the Houston Rockets, leaving them with the full mid-level exception at their disposal. It would be unfair to expect Mayo to take anything less than that exception – worth around $5 million annually – but even that proposal might not be enough to ink him to a contract. The Suns had freed up approximately $8-9 million in salary cap space before claiming the recently-amnestied Luis Scola on Sunday. Then, they gave themselves some relief to remain in the hunt for Mayo, Courtney Lee and Shannon Brown by waiving Josh Childress under the amnesty clause. Given the fact that Phoenix will almost assuredly be able to offer Mayo a bigger, better deal than the Bulls – as well as a run-and-gun style that’s conducive to scoring and potentially a larger role – the Suns are seemingly the frontrunners for him. Nevertheless, the question begs: Could the Bulls work out a sign-and-trade with the Grizzlies? They have reportedly dangled Rip Hamilton and his expiring $5 million deal in trade talks, but it is hard to imagine that a team would want to take on the 34-year-old who looked fragile and had unproductive stretches a season ago. " "Could the Bulls have really had Mayo? I still have my doubts that O.J. Mayo is worth the 10+ million a year I thought he would make in the NBA this summer, but what I never had any doubts about was whether he was worth a one year deal the size that Kirk Hinrich had or a three year deal at just over the MLE. Some of these issues are timing, but in an ideal Bulls off-season, they trade Kyle Korver to Atlanta and take O.J. Mayo from Memphis in a sign and trade back. Of course Mayo would have had to agree to a 3/19 deal vs the 2/8 with the second year being a player option that he did. Assuming he feels he'll get 10 million a year next season, he could ultimately have upside of 3/24 over the first three years instead of 3/19, of course his downside is 2/8 vs 3/19, so it would have been a pretty solid move for him to take the 3/19. The Bulls could have sent John Lucas to Memphis as well in a sign and trade for the minimum with cash to cover his salary with an agreement in place that the Grizzlies waive him [though then Lucas would have the prospect of some other team waiver claiming his deal, so those details would need to work out] in order to raise the offer to Mayo up to 3/23 which would effectively give him as much upside as what he's likely to achieve on his short one year deal while guaranteeing him more money. In short, it could have worked out, and the Bulls could have kept Mayo long term if they signed him using the S&T. If they signed him to the one year + player option deal Dallas did the upside is much smaller. Still better than what we did, but we wouldn't be able to retain him long term." Paste the link with this please. I read the article, it was written a week after the Bulls had signed Kirk Hinrich. So instead of going hard after the target you say they wanted badly(Mayo), they signed kirk and made Mayo an incredible longshot that required multiple dominos from multiple teams to fall. The article even cites "As it stands, the Bulls would likely have a shot to acquire Mayo if they choose not to match the lucrative offer sheet Omer Asik will soon sign with the Houston Rockets, leaving them with the full mid-level exception at their disposal.". They didnt match, and they still didnt go after Mayo. Like i said, they cast their lot with Kirk. Its unfortunate, but it is what they did.
