QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 06:49 PM) I'm saying that he is fast but not Vick fast. Vick has a more powerful arm but neither had any touch when they came into the league. its just not the same. you are comparing a ferarri to a escalade. Tebow is a powerful downhill runner, a bulldozer. Vick is a elusive speedburner that will make you miss and then be gone.- 2011 Films Thread

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) I understand that it was the last 3 weeks of 3 teams relatively meaningless seasons at that point, but he was pretty damn good in the final 3 weeks of the season. 4:3 TD:INT, was apparently looking downfield, was able to run the ball too. Meanwhile, Orton has played in 62 career games and has been in the league for 6 years. I sure hope he looks better in camp. I think Tebow will be fine. Average to slightly above average QB with an incredible work ethic and will win a lot of games late or with his feet. He's going to be fine. Tebow can still be the type of guy who can define a franchise and be that franchise player, which is something Kyle Orton never will be. Orton has thrown 41TDs and 21 INTs for the Broncos since he has been there, he may not be as fast as Tebow but I just dont see what Orton has done wrong to throw this at Tebow. I just dont see him as the type that can define a franchise either. #notbuyingintothehype- 2011 Films Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 4, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) Nah, see, the original Superman movies were eons ago, and the latest reboot was a disaster. Plus, that suit looks f***ing awesome! The suit does look pretty cool. Still, im pretty disappointed that they chose to do another origin story, hopefully it isnt a full origin story and instead only some flashbacks here and there. We know how he got here, lets get past that and go straight to brainiac please- 2011 Films Thread

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) Does anyone have any idea what is going on in that third picture (the second one in the large grouping)? It looks like someone is entering a common room/cafeteria and falling to their knees. It reminds me of the original scene when the alien burst out of John Hurts chest- Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 11:29 AM) Peppers was awesome last year, without a good partner in crime. Imagine how much more dominant he could be if teams had to worry about Osi as well. I agree with you, but we know the Bears. They are counting on Akoye, Gholston, Adams, and Wooten to step up, regardless of whether it is warranted or not- Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) Are you referring to Avatar or Transformers? I think you mean Avatar, and I agree. With Transformers, I only noticed anything special when they did the skydiving scene. Kyyle, I didn't get that "window" feeling with Transformers, although I did with Avatar. bay was forced to abandon his shaky camera effects to incorporate the 3d. that in iteslf made it worth it for me- 2011 Films Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 10:16 AM) I really don't think that 3D adds much to any movie (other than Avatar). I'm pretty sure I read that Transformers 3 was supposed to have the best 3D since Avatar, and I noticed only one part of the movie where it seemingly added to the experience. I believe it's just an old fad that's returning for a short time, and then it will fade back into oblivion. I think it just adds clarity to the screen. Mostly i believe that people expect a 3D movie to have things that pop out at you, and Avatar/Transformers didnt really have that aspect, but instead it was as if you were looking through a window instead of watching a film. I dont think it is going to fade into oblivion, I think it just isnt going to be pushed as if it is something extremely special adding to to film. To me, watching a 3D movie like Avatar in 2D is similar to watching a movie on Blu Ray and then on regular DVD. You notice the difference when you see them both, but when you see one or the other, its no big deal- Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread

QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 02:05 AM) It is his new theme.. I saw an article on Wrestlezone that said Vince broke policy by allowing someone to use a song that they had to pay royalties for.. Which is odd to me as Edge was using Metalingus by Alter Bridge, Mysterios is by POD I believe, Rev Theory does Ortons, CM Punk was using Killswitch Engage, HHH with Motorhead Do they not have to pay royalties for those? Seemed weird to me as people have had actual songs for a while now.. They have to pay royalties, sure, but all of those songs are on those WWE themesong CDs, so the WWE is making money off of it as well. Cult of Personality is not, so Vince has to pay royalties on something that he isnt going to make money back with- Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 12:11 PM) I disagree, Bears got a little lucky last season but they also didn't even try against GB in week17 and had a couple losses against the Seahawks/Redskins that more likely would be wins if replayed. knight predicted 5 wins last season, so it makes sense that he thinks it was all a fluke- 2011 Films Thread

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) They definitely needed him. Sizemore & Choo are still out for several weeks. Michael Brantley is decent. Then who do they have in the OF? Travis Buck? Ezequiel Carrera? Austin Kearns? Not anymore. DFA- AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 11:52 PM) Someone (probably Balta) will throw out his batting average over the last month or two and it will look "okay," just like Juan Pierre. Someone will respond with his SLG/OPS and on-base percentage numbers, which will show him in the Bottom 5-10% of MLB players. Then a response will be that he's just a rookie and not getting consistent playing time. To which the response will be that he's playing only against the most favorable pitching match-ups and he'd actually be worse if he was playing everyday. Which will lead back to a discussion of his minor league numbers and how he's adjusted over time every place he's played. Which will lead to the fact that in none of those situations was he playing in the heat of a major league pennant race. And of course the comparisons to B. Anderson in 2006 and the fact that HE SHOULDN'T be relied on offensively with all the veterans we have...to which someone will say you just can't have a 3B hitting with a 550 OPS, even if it's Brooks Robinson. And then we'll hear that almost all the MLB 3B are having pretty "off" seasons statistically, and that 675-725 OPS over there is the "new 800 gold standard" at the position. You missed the part where you jump in and reference Jessica Alba, Justin Beiber, and Norberto Martin. If we are going to be correct, that has to be in there- AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I dont understand, I thought the Red Sox had an amazing offense and the White Sox only had a 10 percent chance to win and Gavin was a mental midget in important games. Does not compute- 2011 Films Thread
