Joe West is just a horrible umpire, period. He needs to be seriously evaluated by the MLB and Umpires association, many of his calls seem to stem from whatever mood he is in

weather.com sucks so bad. it went from sunny today showers tomorrow to showers all weekend in 30 minutes.

White Sox could be 2 1/2 games back into possible SAT DH

Love the optimism. The Tigers flipping the script last night and pulling it out, PLUS damaging the Twins bullpen, PLUS Baker going out with a tender elbow really changed things from dreadful to a glimmer of hope. The Sox need to hold up their end of the bargain and make the Twins series in a few weeks one worth remembering -

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 2, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) It started way back when some people referred to Jon Garland as Judy Garland. They take their message board way too seriously. I love the "let me handle modding the board mmkay" comment. I hope Spawn is reading this. Yes, you are a b****

The Official Stephen Strasburg needs Tommy John Thread
Kyyle23 replied to Jordan4life_2007's topic in The Diamond Club
I dont have any statistical data to back it up, but it seems to me like left handed pitchers are able to maintain throwing at high speeds for a lot longer than right handed pitchers. Maybe it is the 3/4 slinging style that many of them have, but you look at guys like Thornton who just looks like he is playing regular catch and the ball just explodes out of his hand -
QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 03:08 PM) I have to vent and this seems like the best place. I'm sure some of you know of whitesoxinteractive.com aka flyingsock.com. That place in run by Satan himself. I just got banned from there again. The mods are insane, you can't talk about anything without having them jump on your back. And every mod thinks they are better than you, know more than you, and think their opinion is right and yours is always wrong. Seriously, I despise that place. Prime example: http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbullet...2975&page=9 So I just have to say f*** you to that place, and I'm sorry if I broke any rules about this board with this post, I just had to get it off my chest. Here is to hoping that board falls apart This is not the best place to vent. You are now banned. Just kidding. This is the best place to vent http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...75&start=75 ps. Saying Loriano instead of Liriano, indicating you think he is a she, is a bannable offense? Spawn is a little b****

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) When's the last time a pennant contender relied on two relievers with as little experience pitching in the minors as Santos and Sale? not relievers, but Prior was in the minors for a very short period before the cubs called him up. Other than that, Im at a loss for your question

Salvation was good, but it was a bit cheesy in parts. The ending surgery was pretty lame IMO. I liked the Arnold terminator doing all of the damage in the fight scene, but at the same time did he look like total cgi, you would think that the CGI would of integrated it into the movie better considering how well the other robots looked throughout the movie

All right place your bets place your bets place yours bets: Mannys first AB with the White Sox, Hit, Walk, or Out? Prop Bet: Does Mannys first AB produce an RBI?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 06:55 AM) I'm sure he wanted Cora "translating" in case he said something that would cause problems, Joey, who I believe is an ex teammate of his, could clean it up for him, and maybe give a "White Sox" answer. Which he did. Im not concerned about all this exterior stuff. Manny is right, they brought him to play baseball. If he does his job, then nobody cares that Manny is Manny. So now it is up to Manny to play baseball

Edwin has seen plenty of these legitimate lineups you guys are talking about, while he was with the Rays and Tigers. And last year in the first half EJ was mowing them down before his second half fade. If you look at his splits on baseball reference, he actually had some decent success against some of the better hitting teams of the AL

QUOTE (Big Daddy Kool @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) cst_sox: Not hearing a whole lot from Phillip now about how Daniel Hudson was the savior and how could the Sox trade him. Where you at Phil? less than a minute ago via web I forgot, he's playing with his John Ely bobblehead doll. Cowley is killing Phil Rogers...again...and it's spot -on Cowley shouldnt throw stones in glass houses

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) Kyyle, did you ever suggest naming your kid Vince? lol, no. Ed did come to mind though......

QUOTE (Real @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) Trade CQ in the offseason. He seriously tried to give that game away by himself. Horrible at bats, horrible defense, horrible game. If it was up to me, in the 9th I would of pinch hit Manny for Carlos and then put Jones in for defense in the bottom of the inning. It worked out fine, but I didnt want him up there taking hacks, even at a pitcher that was obviously struggling

QUOTE (qwerty @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) Nolan's inception was not exactly original either. But then again... everything stems from something. Nolan didnt stand on a bully pulpit and talk s*** about other films that have nothing to do with his own

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) This could get interesting. Don't the Sox have a "rule?" Isn't it Jerry's rule? I would think Mr. Reinsdorf, who was the owner of Michael Jordan's Bulls, would not want to let one man be allowed to usurp the rules. Rules must be the same for everybody. If Cowley's post is true, wonder what the Sox will do to spin this? LMAO, Jordan of "The Jordan Rules" had his own set of rules. Come to think of it, so did Dennis Rodman, considering he used to party until all hours of the night and they would drag his ass to games and throw him out there. I am fairly sure everyone involved in this trade, from Jerry to Kenny to Manny, knew that to make this trade that they would have to accept that Manny is a bizarre individual and concessions would need to be made.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) Why would the Nats want to call him up? They aren't going anywhere and wouldn't have a need for the Duke The rosters expand tomorrow and they have a strasburg sized gap in their pitching staff, why wouldnt they want to see if he had anything in the tank?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) He had a 1.86 ERA over 9 innings. I don't care how old he is...if he can keep that up I'd take him. yeah, 9 innings of AA Harrisburg. Sorry, not impressed
