  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 1, 2010 -> 07:38 AM) It's easier to compartmentalize genuine dislike if you can blame it on something irrational like racism rather than having to accept the reality of one's own actions. It is also easy when a sports network caters to and hangs on every word that comes out of your mouth, so you can basically say anything you want and think it is ok.
  2. lol, culprit, corporate, same thing
  3. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) LBJ played the race card. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...y-backlash.html of course he did. and ESPN is eating it up

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 08:44 AM) If it's not the most profitable film series of all time, it has to be near the top. I would do the same thing if I were him. it just seems cheap now Christopher Nolan now confirmed for Batman 3, says script is being edited
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 08:59 AM) I understand the fact that we're coming off a big, emotional win on MNF against our historical rival, but I just don't see this team resting on their laurels quite yet. I see that Panthers game as a bigger trap game than this one. The Giants may have played terribly the past two weeks, but they are still the Giants, this is still Eli Manning, and they still play under the bright lights. And this is a nationally televised game. I don't see us letting up here. We will shut down their running game, and Eli will hit Steve Smith about 12 times, but if we keep them out of the end zone similarly to the way we did against Green Bay, I don't see us losing this game. I think the Bears have a good shot of winning this one too. The Giants O line has had similar problems to the Packers, Eli has been far from hassle free. If Peppers gets going like he did last week there will either be many sacks or many flags, and both of those bode well for the bears. I want to see the offense tee off on someone. You can see that they have been close(Dallas) but havent quite reached that level yet. I want to see it happen
  6. everyone is looking at the Giants as a trap game. I hope they make Eli look as bad as he did against the Titans. Another lefthanded shuffle pass would be nice QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 08:54 AM) Yeah, 3.5 or 4 point favorites. I sense a trap... ha
  7. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 08:43 AM) I thought he was dead already. Who will be the third famous person? It will probably be another surprise. Giraldo was a shame, Curtis was getting up there, the next one will probably be a big surprise to us
  8. The mother of Sarah and Zak Kustok was killed last night

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 30, 2010 -> 08:38 AM) Star Wars series to be re-released in 3-D. I am really getting sick of Lucas repeatedly milking this cow.

  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) this is the nfl, it never makes sense. That is why you PLAY the game
  12. You guys have no idea how idiotic the argument became. The last point made towards me was "I understand killing the dog is easier than being a responsible parent and pet owner" My first point made was the dog needs to be trained before, not after the child is bitten. Once that bridge is crossed unfortunately it is hard to go back. There are places out there that rehab dogs like that, but you dont usually have time to get these dogs to those places after something like this happens. It is sad that a supposedly family dog is put down, but if it is my child, thats how it goes. I wouldnt want this to happen to someone else and know that it was supposed to be trained instead of euthanized
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) I understand where you're coming from but why is death the only option? Why not give him up to people who have the time and ability to work with problem dogs? Many of Michael Vick's dogs have even been rehabilitated. Vicks dogs werent attacking people, they were being trained to attack other dogs. To me, if a dog turns on someone like that for no particular reason and something that horrible happens, that is the only option. You dont have to agree with it, thats just where I stand. If this rehab happens, and the dog does it again, what happens next?
  14. I agree it sounds like bad owners, although sometimes certain dogs are just bad, high strung. My grandfather had a great dane like that. He had great danes all throughout my life, and they were all the sweetest dogs. Then he got Marmaduke, and that dog had to be kenneled every time people came over because it bit people. It ended up being euthanized after taking my grandfathers grandson(second marraige) down and giving him 15 stitches across the cheek. All the same, if this dog bit my kids lip off because of a sound it heard, sorry but it has got to go.
  15. This is the same guys followup: and to give you a little background, this dog attack was compared to a child fight on a playground and domestic violence. I am arguing with idiots
  16. http://www.hotbloodedgaming.com/2010/09/28...ing-nintendogs/ Someone i know posted this on facebook, and now there is a conversation in which a guy said Now, I dont agree with this at all. I think it was absolutely the right thing to do to euthanize this dog, you cant hope to train a dog not to do something like this. With children around the house, this could happen again and then you would wonder why he wasnt euthanized the first time. thoughts?
  17. the Nets pull out of the 4 way deal for Melo
  18. I wonder what is gonna happen with this Nick Collins thing. He says the bears fan dropped an N-bomb on him and thats why he threw his mouthpiece at the fan. Now a news station has pictures of the fan or fans involved in the altercation and is asking people to identify him. Should be interesting, it is basically Collins word against the fan here http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/tv-station-a...witnesses-29054
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 07:35 AM) Where are people getting Borat? I can't think of a single quote from that movie that anyone ever actually says. "High Five-uh" B+B use a few quotes from that movie as well

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) Yes, that's what I meant. And yes again, I'm sure it will be worth seeing. I just read into it, and they want to do basically the same thing they did with NCFOM (a direct translation from book to screen). The only thing is that, according to Wikipedia, there are not many differences between the novel and the original film. I just don't see the point. The point is that the Dude is in the movie. /problem with movie
  22. One thing I have noticed is that Anderson is getting pressure again. He made a couple of sick swim moves last night and was very close to taking Rodgers down a few times. It was nice to see Melton getting some time and making an impression as well, Im not gonna hold that penalty against him because it looked like a great play to me. Toeina and Adams seem to be clogging up the middle pretty well

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 09:07 AM) Similar but not the same, didn't they direct No Country For Old Men? Because that movie was a pretty much direct treatment of the book, very little added or taken away. NCFOM was new as a film, but it wasn't truly new material either. yeah, but I understand what MM is saying. You dont consider a book translation as a remake, True Grit is a remade John Wayne movie. That isnt the Coen Brothers style normally. However, given their body of work I am willing to say that this will be worth it.
  24. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 08:57 AM) Right, but also had we let you score we would have had about a minute thirty five and one timeout to get a TD. I'll never get what was going through McCarthy's mind when the Bears were on our goal line last night on the last drive of the game, I personally can't remember the last time we blocked a kick. I miss Ryan Grant. I cant find the quote but he was absolutely counting on blocking the field goal. When it is from that close, I just dont understand that decision at all, the game winner was a 19 yard gimme
  25. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) My open response to Packer fans: The Packers were the most penalized team in the league last year, and are off to an awesome start again this year. They take penalties instead of letting players on the other side beat them. That's part of their gameplan. You can't blame penalties on the loss, and you certainly can't say they would have won without them. The Bears would have completed those passes (save that last one) or gotten to the quarterback without the penalties. When penalties are part of your gameplan, you cant use them as an excuse. oh snap
