QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) We already had him up with nobody on base early in the game the day after the incident. We chose not to hit him that game. I dont know why Ozzie didnt do it. Maybe he didnt want suspensions and such at the moment. I thought for sure he was gonna get drilled when the Sox won 11-0

I think you better pick your spot with hitting Delmon. Hitting him whenever you feel like it is pretty risky considering all this series means at this point. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 05:43 PM) OK why are we hitting this guy again? He threw a forearm at AJ when AJ was near the plate but not blocking it, and did not have the ball. He went out of his way to do it, it was bush league

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 07:47 AM) Lotsa playoff/NL east injury news came through last night after I left. Jimmy Rollins has a hamstring strain. Day to day. John Johnson (Marlins) is being shut down for the season with a back strain. Josh?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 03:19 PM) Not possible. Until McGrady went to the Magic he was pretty healthy throughout his career. Sanders has been on and off the injured list since day 1 in the NFL

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 03:33 PM) While true, he would still make a very good 5th starter. He was making too much to be merely a 5th starter. And even this year, he is making a good chunk of change just to be a 5th starter

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) What about going in the shotgun and doing direct snap to the fullback? Would that be legal? considering there is no fullback on the roster, it would be legal but impossible.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:45 AM) It was a combination of the Jets committing awful 3rd down penalties and the Ravens picking on the rookie CB. They killed Kyle Wilson, that kid had an awful game. Fumbled a ball, pass interference calls, Anquan had his way with him. Not a good start for that kid

Last night before the games started, I was winning 75 points to 45 points in my fantasy league(the only money league I am in), and my opponent had Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles, and Dustin Keller. I thought it was over, but obviously I watched anyways and had my scoreboard up on the computer. At the end of the Ravens/Jets game, I was still leading by 19 points because Flacco, Rice and Keller all had pretty miserable games, so it all rides on Jamaal Charles. Charles breaks his second run of the game for a 56 yard touchdown which scored 12 points, and I am thinking, I am f***ed, this is over. My opponent is chasing 7 points going into the second half. Todd Haley inexplicably forgets about Charles for the rest of the game, and I squeak it out 75 - 73. I still dont know how it happened, but I will take it!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:14 AM) I still can't figure out how the Jets did so well on first and 2nd down and then were so incredibly inept on 3rd and long. They knew Ray Lewis was lurking in the middle of the field. Every checkdown Sanchez made to LT was stopped 2 yards short because he was there pretty much every time. And that hit he put on Dustin Keller, dear lord I could feel that on my couch.

QUOTE (T R U @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 03:15 AM) the Bears almost/should have (depending on who you are talking to) lost to a team that has 2 wins in the past 2 seasons and hasn't won a road game since 07.. a win is a win, no doubt, but im not sure how anyone that is a Bears fan can come away from that game feeling good.. well aside from Cutlers performance The defense was pretty good too for all but a minute of the game. Then lovie played his bulls*** prevent defense which always gets toasted

You know what sucks about this season, nobody will be happy regardless of the outcome. Friends of mine are rooting for the Bears to fail so that the Angelo/Smith regime is booted, and this is something that is totally against the fiber of my being, I just cannot do it. I understand that Lovie and Angelo have made many critical mistakes that have basically dismantled the Superbowl team due to their arrogance, but that doesnt mean I want to see the Bears lose. And then there are the fans that are never happy even when the Bears win. All day long people called into the Score, and you would of thought they lost by 50 by the way people were talking. Fire Smith, promote Martz. Cut Cutler, promote Collins. The Defense was good for 59 minutes but horrible for 1, so they should of lost the game. There is no such thing as small steps of progress to this town, you either are Patriots good or Lions bad, and the Bears are Lions bad according to Chicago. Its hard to be a fan of the Bears nowadays

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Which goes hand in hand with a criticism of Ron Washington last year. He played Jones too much was the concern. Jones has really be on a tear ever since his average was below .200. I really think, while he's worth his salary, people would be extremely dissappointed if he wound up playing every day. Jones also pulled his hamstring pretty badly last year in May and he admitted that it affected his play for the rest of the year.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 10:37 AM) Yep, they were the best team in baseball in 2005 from day 1 to game 4 of the World Series. The fact they won the WS was not a fluke. The fact they had so many players overachieve, now that is more of a freak anamoly. The key thing to remember is that those type of seasons occur once every 25-50 years, and it's important that you win the entire thing when you have your chance. For example, in 2008, the Cubs might have easily been the best team in baseball. But 3 and out in the WS, and it was a wasted year. NLDS

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) 2005 can be considered a fluke in baseball because everything went right for the Sox in that run, we had so many breaks in the playoffs and really we avoided any crippling injuries during the season and won a vast amount of our 1 run games. That team was not supposed to win on paper, so it can appear to be a fluke. Yet, baseball is a game of flukes. They didnt avoid crippling injuries, they managed around them. Hermanson and thomas were pretty big losses considering what they gave the team when they played

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 09:47 AM) I believe it's the "The White Sox playing the Twins" Jinx of this decade. I wouldnt call that a jinx since the Sox are the team that ended up with a ring out of the two of them
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 11:47 PM) I hope he hits 15 home runs this postseason and the Thome-led Twinks finally win it all. Maybe then the jinx will end and we'll get back on top. What jinx are you referring to? The Twins have won 2 world series within the last 25 years, it isnt as if they are starving for a world championship in that city.

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 05:25 PM) Lol, we'll see how optimistic you are after the Cowboys game tonight. Even with the turnovers it is not like the Bears were moving the ball on a crappy Lions pass defense. The Lions are half the offensive team the Cowboys are. Forte and Olsen fumbles hurt them tremendously on drives. Cutler was obviously throwing the ball all over the field with little problems. Also, Aromashadu cost them 9 points by himself. Cutler threw an absolutely perfect TD pass on the first drive that Devin dropped, and he also dropped the 2 point conversion. Cutler may of had 2 turnovers, but he looked a lot better than he did last year with Turner running things. If Omiyale didnt just give up blocking his guy than maybe Cutler has an extra second to throw the ball and he doesnt fumble it.

Well he is just hypothesizing that is the case. Nothing solid here, just a rumor
