QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 24, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) Yeah if I was younger or even older, I probably would have played it a lot. But it happened to come out at the time where my video gaming playing dropped to basically 0. N64 I bought maybe 2-3 games, Mario and Zelda. Mario I beat every single star (Frosh year), Zelda I never completed (Junior year or so). So those few years really changed my video gaming habits. I never completed Majoras Mask but I definitely completed Ocarina of Time. The only Zelda games I have not completed are Zelda II and Twilight Princess(not because I couldnt, but rather because I didnt own it). I caved and bought Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the way home as a birthday present(May 26th) to myself and an anniversary(28th) present for my wife since she was asking for it anyways

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 24, 2010 -> 03:19 PM) I tried that on my PC a few years back and it was unplayable. You really need an N64 controller in your hands to get a true feel for the game. Arrow keys don't do it service. http://www.nintendo.com/wii/online/virtual...MIOS7sgrvUdDq1O you can download it to a simcard off the virtual console as well, and use a gamecube controller or classic controller if you have it

Super Mario 2 wasnt even a mario game, it was a completely different character. They just inserted Mario into the game, and all those weird creatures became part of the mythology

I could see how Super Mario 64 slipped past you i guess. I think you should go back and beat it, then come back to the Galaxy games and see if you hold the same opinion. I like Super Mario Bros Wii a lot, but i will NEVER EVER EVER EVER play with my wife and daughter again. Complete torture. How my wife doesnt understand or try to understand the turbo slide is beyond me.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 24, 2010 -> 02:17 PM) Never really played it, I was 9 years old when that game came out and I'm not sure I had an N64 in 1996. I'm pretty sure I got mine around the time Goldeneye came out in '97 and played the s*** out of that game for years, Mario 64 never really appealed to me as a 10 year old, I suppose. I remember a few friends having the game but we mostly played Tomb Raider and Twisted Metal on Playstation, N64 was kind of an afterthought until Goldeneye took the world by storm. weird that you were 9 and you missed SM64, yet you prefer the sidescrolling mario games that came out mostly when you were a toddler and before you were born.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 24, 2010 -> 01:51 PM) People are absolutely in love with SMG2 with talk of it actually being better than the original (which I actually purchased and never finished, I realize Mario only works for me as a side scrolling platformer) and the original won all kinds of awards, people do love their Mario. For me personally RDR will probably be my most enjoyable video game experience of the year but for the masses and video game publications SMG2 will be better received. You werent a fan of Super Mario 64?

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 24, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) Even though it doesn't appeal to me Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks like the front runner right now with Mass Effect 2 also having a say. Wow, seriously?? I am looking forward to getting that game, but that surprises me that you would think that. Not that you have ripped on Wii or anything, but just that from what I am reading from pretty much all of you, RDR is the sh**

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 24, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) Castro looks like he'll be the real deal to me, given some time. Colvin, I think, ends up being nothing more than a 4th OF. Just my opinion. We all said the same thing last year about Beckham, and now he is old news. Sometimes guys hit the league on fire and flame out, others are able to maintain. Some of them get the sophomore jinx, others are Derek Jeter(offensively, not defensively)

The Sox are fortunate that they dont have to worry about Sox killer Asdrubal Cabrera and Grady Sizemore.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2010 -> 12:22 PM) Hard to argue the success of Castro and Colvin so far this year though. Never would have thought they'd be more successful than Quentin and Beckham. considering they have been in the majors for 2 months, I would say it is still hard to argue

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 23, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) I'm actually looking forward to seeing Linebrink or Jenks pitch for them. That's right i'm hoping the Cubs stay in contention just long enough for them to need bullpen help when we start to unload. Which overhyped prospect would you like in return?

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 24, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) Yeah, there's a reason why that line has no citation: because it's wrong. If he's traded he gets an extra $1M per season on any remaining years as well as a $15M player option for 2012. There's a thread pinned in this very forum containing information such as this and guarateed to be 100% more accurate than f***ing Wikipedia. I luv when you get angry

He has a player option worth 19 million if he gets traded. So, is Mark Buehrle worth 19 million to another team? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Buehrle

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
QUOTE (G&T @ May 23, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) He's a +8 in the playoffs. When he is on the ice, he controls the puck. Notice that he rarely dumps it. He skates in and tries to make chances and keeps the defense on its heels. I know next to nothing about hockey skill, but I am learning that it isn't an accident that his lines have been successful. Even if he doesn't score, he singlehandedly keeps the opposition occupied without Toews and Kane. That's huge. Yeah I know he is on the + side, I was speaking only in terms of scoring goals himself. I am in no way disparaging his overall play.

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
I have this weird feeling Hossa is going to pop in the Finals. He has been on the losing end the past two years, and he has been catching some flak for not being the elite scorer that everyone knows he is. I just feel like this might be his time to shine. And this is coming from an admitted Noob

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=5211437 The guy just cannot stop blaming Chicago for everything. Obviously I am no Cubs apologist, but what the f***. If Bradley had asked for help last year when he came out of his crazy bag, Cubs fans would have loved him for it.
