QUOTE (The Beast @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) What is easier? Landing a girl or passing your classes to get a "job?" If nothing gets easier, how does one find happiness? Seriously, just a hypothetical question here. *sigh* this thread is not about getting a job. This thread is not about finding happiness(at least not in the way you are saying in the above quote, which is something akin to finding inner peace). If you werent in fast forward all the time, we wouldnt be explaining the same small things to you all the time. Just a few years ago you couldnt wait to get out of high school to get into college with more mature people where you can get your degree etc. Now you cant wait to get out of college and get a job and "find happiness". Whats the big hurry? Why do you have to skip straight from meeting someone out, directly to discussing what you want to do with your entire life with the girl you are just meeting out? If you would slow yourself down just a bit an look around, you would realize things arent nearly as bad as you think they are, and you wouldnt want to GTFO so bad.

4/5/10 Opening day IGT. White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) No offense, Scotty, but why not wait till a month into the season till we tell people not to jump to conclusions based on quotes from the mouth of the manager? This works both ways Bolt. You have been extremely loud about it for the better part of a month QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) Wrestlers had a serious problem working with Ultimate Warrior in the ring. He was a roided freak who didnt pay any dues and was given fame right away. Then he'd get in the ring and do holds all wrong. A time or two he dropped people on their heads b/c he was doing the gorilla press wrong. Led to serious----real---injuries lol. I wasnt talking about the real warrior, it was a metaphor for the poster.

QUOTE (The Beast @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 10:46 AM) Is this the same girl as before? If so, wow, you turned that around nicely. I wish that I had your talent, then I wouldn't be searching at bars and playing the bulls*** game. Meh, doesn't matter to me as long as I graduate soon and GTFO. When you GTFO, you will soon realize that its easier in college.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) I'm not in the camp that touts the Thome-Cust comparison. I think Thome is an infinitely better player than Cust will ever be. That being said I’m comfortable with a guy striking out a lot if he mitigates that with decent power and a great approach at the plate. Cust does that, and batting average, as ever, is an incredibly overrated statistic. everything in baseball is overrated when it doesnt agree with your opinion.

Are we finally over Maggs hate?
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) OK Mods, I am going to dance around this as much as I can and if one of you think it's against the rules please delete immediately... I think, looking back, especially at his upper body in his first year with the Tigers, Maggs might have been getting some help that many of us rip other players for using I dont think it is unreasonable to think that there is a possibility that Maggs has used PEDs over the course of his career. he was in the middle of the era where it happened, everyone is under suspicion And PD, I dont understand why you think everyone is still expending energy hating the guy. Its been 6 years, he is gone. I dont recall threads coming up bashing him everytime he comes into town, he may get a slight boo from the crowd when he comes into town, but nothing out of the norm for any former player playing for a team within the division.

way to be completely selective Thunderbolt, lets not forget that the guy also strikes out damn near 200 times a year and considers a .240 average to be a good year. Thome's WORST year would be considered Custs best year. Not to mention the defensive deficiencies that Cust has. Kotsay may not be perfect, but IMO he is a much better choice as the flexible bench option. Better pinch hitter, better outfield and first base option, less likely to strike out, can also draw a walk and steal a bag, as well as not being a station to station baserunner.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) What'd he do exactly beside being a fan of professional wrestling.....I guess that could be it. Lets just say used to be Jim Hellwig, and he came back as Ultimate Warrior, and Vince McMahon told him to take a hike

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 05:22 AM) Thanks. It's going to be interesting. She has said she wants to move out to Seattle with no strings attached to South Dakota (other than her parents, of course), but over the past week or so has been talking about how she could see herself marrying me. We have about 4 and a half months left together before that date, so we'll just have to see how it plays out. You arent considering jumping to Seattle, are you?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 08:36 AM) It seems like the "best division in baseball" moniker moves around a lot more rapidly than we'd like to think. Only 3 years or so ago the NL West was viewed as a debacle. Yeah I remember it was a race to which team could be over .500 to get to the playoffs. The Padres always seemed to manage to be the best of the bad

Final Four
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 10:28 PM) Makes me wish the 2000 ISU team with Fizer and Tinsley would have happened 10 years later. I have no doubt that team would have ripped through this tournament. The Tatum/Young/Falker/Shaw/Mullins SIU team would have done some serious damage too

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) So what was so good about District 9? I finally saw it last night, and didn't get it at all. I thought it was horrible. Good old fashioned low budget Sci-Fi movie that changed to an action movie at the end. I loved it. I also liked the not so subtle comparison with Apartheid South Africa

QUOTE (Ultimate Warrior @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) jealousy is an ugly thing you need to brush up on your Warrior-speak. This is a very un-Warrior response to jealousy. You should be talking about the Sun crashing down from the heavens into the pool of blood that little Warriors spilled.

One of the best players on a bad defense isnt really glowing praise. Brown was a nice player and all, but lets be honest, in his best season he had 7 sacks. In 04 he had that crazy game against the giants where he had 4 sacks(which got him paid) and he ended up that season with 6 sacks. 2 more sacks in 15 more games. Thats the kind of thing we saw from Alex Brown, spurts where we thought he was amazing, and times when he absolutely disappeared. The times he was amazing makes us think this loss is huge, but it really isnt. And daa is right. An end that is not getting consistent penetration in the 4-3 defense is not helping, he is hurting those CBs who are getting burned while the QB picks apart the gaps. I would have liked to see him in a rotation this year opposite of Peppers, but not for the money he was getting paid. Especially when that money can help address the lack of secondary, especially at the safety position- No wonder why Brian Anderson could never hit...
