Good luck with it Felix. Roomie dating isnt as easy as one might think. When she wants her space, give it to her.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) When I hear head shop, I think drug paraphernalia, but it sounds like some sort of second hand store. 2nd

Watch them pick that guy who jacked up his batman outfit. Or the guy who followed them around in the 05 playoffs with the neon Sox outfit

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) You can add 50 feet based upon a good live bat vs and 20 buck bat. Its ridiculous how much of a difference it makes. We play in a single-wall league, but holy crap I've played in a few games in my buddies double-wall league. I was cranking HR's all day and I didn't know what the hell was going on. cough*hgh*cough

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) Another brilliant 1st round draft by Angelo that results in maybe a 2nd round pick. Everyone was thrilled with the Olsen pick at the time though. It sucks that he hasnt turned out, but I know a whole bunch of us thought he was going to be a star and the pick was regarded to be pretty good at the time. Picks like that and Benson I dont pin on Angelo as much as I do the player. But dont get me wrong, Angelo has f***ed up a bunch of drafts

QUOTE (b-Rye @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 11:21 AM) Rowand wasn't "GREAT" but he busted his ass in the outfield, hit decent, had a great attitude, and seemed like a great clubhouse guy. The last two can go a long way in keeping a team loose and having fun/winning games. Rios is talented, and has potential to put up better numbers, but I don't see the defense topping Rowand or his attitude. based on what Kalapse was saying when Rios was acquired, Rios is an elite defensive talent in CF. One thing I always remembered about Rowand was that he could get most everything side to side, and a lot of balls over his head, but if it was in front of him he froze a lot.

Felix da Cat sez "No sex for me"

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 09:13 AM) The real answer is how long will it be before he becomes a Yankee. Maybe Red Sox. Im pretty sure the Yankees have their first baseman paid for a while

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 08:08 AM) Depends on who's wearing the socks. Is your team co-ed? agreed, there are some girls that make high socks sexy

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 12:12 AM) I figured I would respond to this. This girl who I've dated for 2 years and have been trying to get back (and dug myself a real deep hole this past weekend) is not the kind of girl who is going to go out and hook up with random dudes on random nights. And this other girl who I did mess around with isn't currently in school and isn't the kind of girl I would consider dating, and I really don't care for flings (though I apparently did this past weekend). Part of my desire to get her back I believe is because it's my first love, but I feel the biggest part of it is because she truly is an incredible girl. I wouldn't do this - atleast, I don't believe I'd do this - over some superficial bimbo who cares more about cock and partying than she does me. She means the world to me, and I did something really stupid, so, crazy as it is, I'm trying to get her back, again. Anyways, I'm giving her space right now to do thinking - last week of classes before spring break, and she'll be going out to see siblings on the west coast during her break - and if she talks to me right now, I'll talk; I'm not going to ignore her. In the meantime, I'm going to start doing some more things I said I would do at the beginning of last semester while continuing on with other aspects of my life I've improved and make myself an overall better person. After Spring Break, I'm going to try and set up a meeting...like going out for coffee or something...just to get a chance to talk to her in person, and I'll go from there. The goal of it all is to win her back over. If it doesn't work, then I've set myself up to go right back out into the single world. If it does, then I'm happy and I'm still a better person overall. The goal is to make yourself a better person for yourself, not to win her back over. Blake I'm gonna be honest, to me it looks like you are setting yourself up for a serious heartbreak. Its like you are pushing it off and think it wont happen if A and B and C are followed through. "The one who got away" is the one who left you, and keeps insisting on this quasi-single appearance and attitude. You are better than that. If she wants to go, let her go. Dont feel bad because you messed around with some skank, thats what happens when you first break up with someone.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) Absolutely, but he really is an inspiration in the way he's dealt with it. I know for a fact I'd be completely bitter, self-pitying and reclusive if that happened to me. Everything I've read and seen shows him determined to make the best of his life, and I think that's great. To have the technology and the resources for Roger to get even a simulated, pieced-together version of his voice back is amazing to me. Yeah, that was very cool that they pieced together a voice out of his old At The Movies shows
-
I completely respect Roger Ebert and feel for him in regards to his tragic cancer complications, but when I watched the video of him and his wife testing out his new "voice" on the oprah network, I was very creeped out by his jaw moving with no bone in there. Such a cruel twist of fate to rob that man of his jaw and voice.

Heavy bats in 12 inch are not good. In 16 inch you need a heavy bat because the ball is more dense and that helps the ball go a bit farther, in 12 inch you just want to crush the ball on the sweet spot so you need a lighter bat for better bat control.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 02:05 PM) Thanks for that. I need to buy a new one this spring myself. I assume certain softball bats are meant for certain types of hitters, yes? I never got that detailed before in my shopping, I just found ones that felt good swinging, and were good brands in the right price range. Lets face it, me and you arent super crazy softball guys, so buying a bat for you should basically be "does it feel good when I swing?", not "is this a bat for line drives or more for home runs?" If I was more committed to the sport(3-5 games a week) I would be more interested in certain types of bats. As it stands, if it feels good and the bat isnt dead, I will use it

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) Yeah all the leagues around me are ASA so i just assumed. I gotta remember that no one else is from NY The league I am in is actually a hybrid of NSA/ASA which is totally weird. NSA umpiring, ASA balls, NSA bats
-
oh yeah, softballfans.com is where my buddies go for bat reviews
-
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) None of which are ASA approved so if your league enforces rules don't waste your money on those. Well he didnt specify his league, it could be NSA, ASA, Utrip.
