QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 04:01 AM) I'd really like them to hold onto Kirk, and trade Salmons instead. Otherwise, Pargo is your backup PG. And with the Rose uncertainty now, that's not good. Also, if Wade needs another bigtime FA to join him, then you're gonna have to go and get Bosh instead, and I'd rather have Kirk at SG than Salmons. Of the teams mentioned, I'd ask the Knicks and Kings, as you could luck into the #1 (and do a trade in the offseason or a sign-and-trade) or get something like Aldrich if it isn't a high pick. Not if another PG comes back to the Bulls. Im pretty sure the Bulls dont want Pargo as the backup PG, since Pargo fancies himself as a SG -
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 06:56 AM) Last Airbender looks promising. But where's Appa? Maybe they're leaving him out so he doesn't come off like a CGI cross between a buffalo and the Snuffelupagus from Sesame Street. hopefully they dont reveal everything in the trailers. Holding back movie info in trailers is a lost art

QUOTE (chwhtsox @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 02:37 PM) I'm 0-2 in gifts. I got her a kindle for her birthday that she hasn't touched since she opened it and got her a Droid for Christmas that she can't figure out how to use. Any ideas from you guys would be great... Actually, 0-3...she still hasn't used the $100 gift card for the massage joint in Algonquin. Since you did all these great things for her and she doesnt appreciate them, maybe now you should ignore her.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 11:29 AM) Well, I was afraid of this: - Ric Flair told The Virginian-Pilot in a new interview that he will be wrestling in TNA "sooner than later." Flair also said he will most likely be involved in a storyline with Hulk Hogan. Flair noted that TNA is making changes for the better and that things in the company are happening quickly. I was hoping Flair would just stick to managing and not show his Dick The Bruiser body anymore, but no such luck. Flair and Hogan in the ring? No need for slow motion replays, they'll have slow motion live action. I wonder what "changes for the better" he's talking about? His returning to active wrestling ain't one of 'em. changes "for the better" means "Im wrestling and getting paid"

QUOTE (The Beast @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 09:37 AM) So let me get this straight. Hypothetically, I approach girl A at the bar and say "Hi, my name is Ross" and start up a conversation. When do you stop being nice and start being arrogant or rude to get said girl A to chase after you? Naturally, I would want to know what they are studying and what they are into with their life instead of just what they are doing later on and what they are drinking at the moment. When are we supposed to go up and after the initial point of contact start being a dick? Do we need to play hard to get as well? I'm not an arrogant and cocky guy and bars/clubs aren't really my scene, but I would like to succeed in this given situation, that's for sure. Enlighten me about nice guys "finishing last" and how those nice guys might want to approach those situations. You are taking the conversation prior out of context Ross. The "play hard to get/be an ass" scenario was discussed about guys who already had established friend relationships with girls and were unsure about their standing with those girls. If you want to walk up and be a prick right off the bat at a bar, prepare to wipe a few drinks off your face.

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 08:53 AM) The thing is, we practically live together now. Im never home and I am always at her house. Its wasting money paying rent and that is money I can be saving so we have a nice chunck of money in a account for when we do get married. It makes a lot of financial sense for our future. haha, bunking is not the same as living with each other
-
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 08:36 AM) Thats actually good to hear, thanks Ken. i agree with Critic. if you guys cant live together before gettnig married, then you will know that you cannot get married. Its always risky, but you need to know each others boundaries

Balta, could you be kind enough to explain how the epicenter was in Sycamore? I had no idea a fault line ran this close to me

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Looked like he wasn't expecting the fake electronic thingy to be as heavy as it was and was just thrown off balance. Not that big of a deal. I like how they are mirroring 1997. Just sucks that Mania is 7 weeks away and it is going to become redundant. We know what is going to happen. To contradict myself, it is better to let it play out and make Vince accept than just have him say YES after he said he was keeping Bret out o fthe building etc. You can also tell Bret has been working out. he really looked clumsy during that whole deal. And not out of shape clumsy, more like uncoordinated clumsy. I hope I am wrong, but the man did have a stroke.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 01:01 PM) Hmm, I still think I'll take Kyyle's advice and put it on the backburner for a bit. If she comes to me, I'll know. There is such thing as getting in and out of the friend zone. Some guys just feel sorry for themselves once they get into it and dont realize that playing hard to get works both ways. Make her want you. If she doesnt, then the "fish in the sea" adage still fits

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) Chicken pot pies are delicious. I found a recipe online called lattice chicken pot pie that me and my daughter love. Its easy and real cheap

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) I seem to have made the tragic mistake of being too friendly. s***. Gotta put her on ignore for a little while then.

I thought last nights RAW was top notch. From the first match with Christian and Sheamus all the way until Hart came out and pounded on McMahon for a little while, there was actually storylines moving along and interesting things happening throughout the show. I like that DX lost the straps to ShowMiz, and now we have grumpy Shawn Michaels again and DX starting to break up, so he will be doing more fun things like Superkicking Teddy Long. Hart just doesnt have the coordination anymore, when he was breaking things and he pulled out the metal box and fell over I felt bad for him.

My favorite commercial was actually the casual friday commercial for careerbuilder.

No Balta, that is not my counterpoint. My counterpoint is that when the guy sees the court, he is incredibly selfish and never tries to play within a system, whatever system he has been in. Tyrus is the king of ill advised shots at crucial moments. He has never been a stop and pop player, yet thats what he always tries to be. His shot has never been consistent enough for him to get the ball at the top of the key and try and drain a 18-20 footer without even considering passing the ball to another player, which is what gets him benched nearly all the time. His defense is top notch, I love watching him swat away shots down low, but when it comes to him playing within an offense, he just never has gotten it. He has never earned more playing time, he has squandered it. I wanted the guy to be what everyone else saw in him, but it isnt happening. And you are right, people like Paxson should have to answer to selecting Tyrus and being incorrect in assuming that he could be coached up to a complete player. And maybe if he goes to a situation like Dallas or Phoenix or New York he will excel, but it isnt happening here, and its getting worse. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2010 -> 07:02 PM) Let me say it in a different way. If the team is going to spend the equivalent of a #2 pick on a guy who is already known as being very raw, then it better damn well make figuring out how to develop him priority #1. I never got the feeling that they had it even in their top 5 priorities at any point. IF they weren't going to, or couldn't develop him, then either the people who couldn't develop him should have been sacked, or the people who picked him should have been sacked. You are assuming that no time and effort was spent with the guy. Thats a pretty big assumption.
