QUOTE(RME JICO @ Oct 27, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) This has to be the worst. The teams are not even close. Just another flawed example of the playoff system. All a team has to do is play average ball all year, then get hot at the right time. I would've rather seen the Mets or Phillies in there. It worked for the Cardinals last year

I work at a JPMorgan Chase call center, this kind of customer service is not tolerated much anymore. We were immediately notified of what to do for people in the fire disaster area and will do as much as possible to help our customers who are out of their homes right now. Asking "Did you grab the reciever/satellite dish" after this ladies house just burned to the ground is insensitive, uninformed, and just plain stupid. And then telling her she was responsible for paying for it after she recieves her next bill, AND having a supervisor backing her up on it is pretty amazing.

A couple spoilers for The Dark Knight, nothing too bad though The white lenses are just cool. For as long as I can recall reading batman comics he had unexplanable white eyes when the mask went on. Now there is an explanation

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 12:52 PM) He did do a hell of a job at Fenway. His patented drainage system alone will improve that god-awful field. Bossard was interviewed on MJ&H yesterday and he discussed his changes, among them: 1. Lowering the field 14 inches. He says this will improve sightlines. 2. The problem with drainage at wrigley is that the main drainpipe for the field is only 15 inches in diameter, and that cannot be changed. What Bossard has done to help with this is install some water storage tanks around the field so that they can handle up to 60,000 gallons of water until they begin to drain into the city drainpipes. He kept referencing a microburst raining an inch, which was the equivalent of 60,000 gallons of water. 3. Mentioned the new grass and clay from KC. 4 Also mentioned that besides the goalposts, he also found some whisky bottles that he estimated from the mid to late 1800's -
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2007 -> 05:44 PM) Natural Choice and Natural Balance seem to be rated 1 and 2 (flipping depending on who you talk to). Ironically it was a Petco employee who told me about NB. I like shopping at Pet Smart... but the associates... aint that "pet smart" i went into Petsmart with my dad to get some Frontline Flea protection for his dog and I will never forget my interaction with an associate. I walk up to this kid (he couldnt have been over 18) after looking at all of the crap products like those lame Flea-b-gone flea collars and that spray crap that never works for more than 10 minutes, and I knew what I was looking for. Me "Excuse me, do you guys have Frontline available?" Associate (Blank stare for at least a minute) "uhhh, what?" Me "Frontline for dogs, Flea protection" Associate (Another blank stare, less than a minute though) "ummmm, we dont sell dogs here." Me "What? I didnt ask if you had dogs, I was asking if you have frontline flea protection for dogs. " This is when the kid literally turns around and points to the exact same crap that I was just looking at and says "this is our flea protection stuff here" and turns back around to resume his blank stare. I then went to the manager who also didnt know what it was, and he proceded to bring me to the head veterinarian to ask HIM about what it was, where I then learned that the Vet sells it, for a way more than everyone else. I just grabbed my dad and left. I just kind of sat there thinking to myself that they dont do much training at all at Petsmart.

I have stuck with Nutro Natural Choice for my dogs for the past 9 years. I worked at a Petco when I was in high school and they made us learn the ins and outs of dog food so we could properly sell it, and Nutro always rated the highest. No corn in the product(which means less waste), fortified with Vitamin E, and it is made from whole chicken. Of course, high school was 11 years ago, so things could have changed with the formula. But my dogs(Chocolate Lab and Basset Hound) are both in great shape and are both entering their senior years(9 and 7 years old). There is a lot of different formulas, I am pretty sure they have a mix for dogs with Allergies.

I bought beef pastrami for the first time the other day, and I still cant see much of a difference between that and the roast beef I got the week earlier. Is there a difference in the preparation/spices?

Nash may still be able to cut a promo, but he is garbage in the ring anymore, and thats if he stays healthy enough to make it to the ring. Its too bad he fancies himself so much that he has to be on TV as much as possible still, he could probably make a fantastic creative writer for the show if he could take himself out of the equation

I cant believe they told Bossard to throw away the goalpost cement blocks. You would think some Cubs fan would buy them in a heartbeat -
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) Tyrus was in the Jim Beam Club the game I took in from there last July. The guy is a freak. Its like he's on a trampoline. If he learns to shoot a little bit, if he could get any kind of post game, he can be a star. He's so young and inexperienced, it will take some time. I don't believe Tyrus has been playing basketball very long. I think I read around draft time last year that he had only played organized basketball his senior year of high school and freshman year of college.

I never let anyone leave my house without telling them "Drive safe". I dont know why I started saying it, but it makes me feel better after I do.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 02:25 PM) I have broken one, but I didn't know I broke it until years later. Crazy thing is, I broke the bone that carries all the weight in the ankle, and never knew it. Crazy, no? Is that the same bone Frank Thomas broke repeatedly, the navicular bone? I havent broken anything yet(knock on wood). I had some close ones with my nose and my shoulder, but no breaks

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) This from another board.... While that is incredibly cool, that guy has too much time on his hands and/or an obsession. And whoever created the pumpkin and candle and white noise with morse code inside of it telling you to read a proverb......well thats just way too out there. Wow, a bible verse hidden in morse code hidden in white noise hidden in a website for a movie that wont be out for another 8 months. If the Dark Knight is anything less than spectacular, I will be surprised

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 02:05 PM) I've never been on a roller coaster. I went on the Tilt-A-Whirl when I was like 7, and they had to stop the ride because I was freaking out. True story. Carousel is more your speed? That surprises me

There was a couple of good ones I would go to while I lived in Southern Illinois. There is an abandoned Animal Hospital that was always fun. I stopped going to most advertised haunted houses because there is no thrill for me. I dont like the idea of walking in one big line and seeing whats happening in front of me before I get to it

Why cover them all up to solve the problem? Why cant we go the other way and show them all off?

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 09:43 AM) At $20M a year there is no learning curve. The rookie wall is explained by increased workload. I thought he threw a greater workload in Japan then he would here. I see your point though and it could go either way. i completely agree, at his price there should be no learning curve at all.

Is it fair to judge Matsuzaka after one year though? Maybe the estimates of revenue are grossly overestimated, but I think Dice-K should be given the benefit of the doubt in terms of learning the league and what it takes to get through an entire MLB season. We can all see he has hit some sort of a wall similar to rookies coming up from the minors. IMO, next year will be much better in determining Dice-K's actual worth as a pitcher in the MLB.
