  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) I still haven't seen it so I am just going off of what Rowand said... This isnt a huge fight breaking out in the stands. Davis heard his wife barking back and forth with some asshole and went up to make sure he didnt f*** with her. Thats stupid, he shouldnt have left the bench. There is security in the arena to prevent that sort of thing, he wasnt rushing to the aid of his severely beaten wife.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) There we have it. And yes kyyle, I know I am not married, but common flipping sense tell you if your family is in trouble....to, ummmm, help. Ah, Rowand agreed with you therefore it is right. I just saw the replay. You guys are full of s***. They were all sitting down except his wife and some other lady. Totally unnecassary. common flipping sense :headshake
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 11:53 PM) I still disagree and I know what you mean but like I said, we still don't know the extent of the harrassment. What if we find out tommorrow morning that his wife was being sexually abused? Would you're reactions change? Ok just shut up now. Dont start making up wild scenarios to defend your opinion that men should rush to the aid of their wives everytime there is a disturbance. You arent even married, you have no idea. The situation was harrassment, she wasnt being sexually abused.
  4. The guy who got ejected looked like a little wienie anyways, She could have kicked his ass. He was probably just making sure everything was ok. But it doesnt matter, it is in the rulebook now, automatic ejection for leaving the bench and entering the stands. AD knows it, he has to. He shouldnt have done it, and his team ended up losing. Whether that had to do with him or not is doubtful but debatable still, but he still shouldnt have done it.
  5. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) Anderson has more baseball experience, is better defensively, and put up his .295 18 .829 whatever splits at AAA last yeear, while Owens hit .330 at AA in a huge park, and he was something like 38 of 58 in SBs. I consider myself an Owens supporter on this, considering his lack of baseball experience, but he's probably not starting material. Not to mention that Owens is a Left Fielder, right? So winning the Center Fielder Job seems kind of unlikely.....
  6. Chandler- 2 Points, 6 Rebounds, fouled out. Curry- 11 Points, 4 rebounds, fouled out. Just like old times at the UC!
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Still before we even talk about AJ and gold gloves, I think it would behoove us all to go look at which pitchers had the most wild pitches in the league. Even though a WP isn't credited to the catcher, that doesn't mean there's nothing the catcher can do to stop it...that only means it was in the dirt. Well, that is determined by MLB scorekeepers, isnt it? If they determine the catcher could have done something about it, it is then termed a passed ball and charged to the catcher.
  8. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 02:53 PM) Just reading some other posts the Indians did imrprove a little, who is to say that Paul Byrd and Millwood are about the same pitchers, they arent very different, Well yeah, if a power throwing pitcher is the same as a junkballer.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) Exactly. I don't know that I have seen many catchers worse at stopping the ball in the dirt. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) You also need to be able to throw out runners to be a Gold Glove catcher. I agree with both of those assessments, but it still leaves me scratching my head why Varitek is even considered. .990 FP, 8 errors, 7 passed balls, and they wont even let Wakefield throw to him. Then you have AJ with a .999 FP, 1 error, and 7 passed balls. strange
  10. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) Because Neyer is a stathead and he argued all last season that the White Sox weren't good enough to win the World Series. Now he looks like an idiot because his stats failed him. No, he looks like an idiot because he looks like an idiot. It has nothing to do with stats.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) The Indians strengthened their roster this year Rob? Paul Byrd being that huge upgrade from Millwood? Ha, I read that quote and thought "The Indians and Twins strengthened their rosters? How?"
  12. Im really surprised that Boras let this one get away. Not his style.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) Maybe Zambrano taught Prior about internet chat rooms? And Rock follows his joke with a rimshot!
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) However, if Joe somehow turns last September into a season, all of a sudden he'll be in a place to ask for another million or two in arbitration next fall, and the Sox will probably have to pay it. If we signed him to a 2-3 year deal now, it could have kept his price at that $2.3 million for each of the next 2-3 years, maybe saving the team a mil or so. I think that if Joe turns last September/October into an entire season, he will be asking for a whole hell of alot more than a million or two more. Mostly because Boras will be chirping in his ear pretty loudly by then.
  15. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) One more thing, Prior's machanics are fine, there isnt anything wrong with them, like someone before me said, everyone raves about his machanics, they are nearly flawless. Ah, I get it. Because you said so, I should believe it. But a former pitcher and man who has a doctorate in physiology says it, and I shouldnt believe it, right? Get off it, I believe that Prior has some problems in his delivery that are contributing to his nagging injuries in his elbow and achilles. If you dont, well you have a different opinion then dont you. But if Prior has a "flawless delivery" and great mechanics, what was wrong with his achilles? Or his sore forearm? Or the elbow inflammation listed in the article I provided?
  16. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 10:27 AM) the one kid in the video had skate shoes on... can't wait until they blame their actions on "Viva la Bam" friggin' ridiculous Why do they have to blame it on Bam? They can just blame it on the "Bumfights" videos or the "Ghetto Fights" videos where people beat bums laying on the street in between streetfights fights.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) I'll wait for Josh's post before I list his favorite schools receivers. I just looked at a list. Those two he listed WERE probably the best examples. Amani Toomer, Tai Streets, David Terrell, Anthony Carter? Not much to choose from
  18. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) Howard probably wasn't the best example because he was more of a Return man however Braylon probably would be ROY if he hadn't gotten hurt. LMAO. Right. And Orton is Marino.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Tim Brown went to Notre Dame. Yaha! Who the hell was I thinking of?
  20. LOL, i was wondering why he didnt mention Tim Brown. But when you have the honorable Desmond Howard and Braylon Edwards at your arguments disposal, you just have to use them. It would be fun to have a game where he says the name of a Michigan player who succeeded and we respond with the name of a player who succeeded in being a bust. LOL, I will start, Tim(Tshiminga!) Biakabatuka.
  21. you are going Aboz? Pfffft, I aint goin now I would love to go, finances just dont allow. I live vicariously through all of your pictures, please post them
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 12:39 PM) Thats the best you could come up with?? Desmond Howard had 1597 CAREER Yards with 7 td's in 10 years in the NFL Braylon Edwards has played ONE year, compiling 512 yards and 3 td's before getting injured. Can you please point out to me how you can call these two players "not busts." You have one player who played for 10 years and ended up with about 1 decent season worth of stats total. And a rookie who has only played 10 games, and played average in that time. Seriously Josh, tell me how they are classified as established stars? You are now crossing the Michigan Man-Love line. WSJ will now fiercely make up bulls*** and call it fact to prove that the guy he has been cheering for since 2001 is good enough to make it in the NFL. Prepare yourself.
  23. whoa, the Sox got a Boras represented player to sign a contract. This is groundbreaking.
