You would think that Hicks learned his lesson about throwing around huge contracts at Boras clients. Apparently not.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) I'm addicted to Zelda. Tell me, from a pure Nintendo fanboy Zelda addict perspective: How good is Twilight Princess?

Anyone else saddened by the decline of Britney Spears
Kyyle23 replied to Jenksismyhero's topic in SLaM
Someone has to explain to Britney, quick, that the rest of the civilized world (not counting Paris and Lindsey) wears pants when they leave the house. check out her 25th birthday party pic, courtesy of thesuperficial.com Im sure these outfits that she is wearing nowadays look great when they come with the pants, but she seems to forget those at home every time she goes out. -
my girl likes to party all the time, party all the time, party all the ti -ime....

Sox & Angels Talking; Crede/Garcia for Santana/Figgins
Kyyle23 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) It's two completley different things, and I think you would know that. You stick a Frank Thomas at 1st base. A Jason Giambi at 1st base. Hell, a Mo Vaungh at 1st base. Putting Joe Crede at 1st base would be idiotic. Plus, I can't imagine at team that gets Crede will have a better defensive 3rd baseman on the roster. Oh, i know the difference, dont get me wrong. I know that Crede's defensive capabilities would be wasted at 1B. Im just pointing out that there has been a precedent set(coincidentally with a player the Sox are supposedly trying to swap Crede with). Arod is regarded as the better SS between himself and Jeter, but they put him at 3B. Arent Arods talents as a SS being wasted as well? -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) Woulnd't that really dimish alot of the value Joe has? Not in a trade, but value to a team. Why stick a GG 3rd baseman at 1B? Remember when the question was "Why stick a GG SS at 3B?" when A-Rod was traded to the Yankees? Sometimes teams do wierd things -
I remember eerily similar discussions about this draft, and how great the quarterbacks were going to be. Its really hard to tell sometimes how great they are gonna be, you have to give them time. Right now, I would list them at Young, Leinart, Cutler. Mostly because Cutler hasnt even played yet and Leinart is stuck in Arizona.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 2, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) You really have a low view of KW, don't you? What the hell has the guy done that you constantly rag on him like this? *enters bomb shelter*

I went to the 2002 Superbowl in New Orleans between the Patriots and Rams, and I thought there were some great bars, and most of them had "Absinthe" in their name. One night we walked it seemed for 15 minutes down Bourbon st and got to this bar that was the definition of Ye Olde Taverne. One bar I really want to visit before I die is the bar that inspired Cheers.

QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 1, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) Damn. She has a C-Section scar I think. Yep, thats most definitely a C-section scar. What kind of outfit was she even wearing anyways? Did she take off her pants/skirt while they were in the car? Or was she thinking "Im with Paris, the less the better"? Either way, she should (by now) be hyper-aware of the press and how they take every available angle and picture of her. These pictures should have "Ooops I did it again" playing along with them. This just about ruined Britney Spears completely for me. Wait, Im completely ruined now. And to answer the title question, no I am not saddened. This girl had her time in the limelight and decided she was gonna be a Mommy with a guy who was having kids with other people(at that time). You reap what you sow. -
*shrug* I loved "Prison Mike". Especially when Jim asked him where he learned about prison life(internet, in the joint, ehh 50-50)

I work for JPMorgan Chase at Inbound Security and Fraud. ATMs are terrible, especially ATMs overseas. People hack them overseas and rip off unsuspecting victims and are never identified, people change PIN numbers on other peoples accounts and drain their accounts in a matter of minutes, its really bad. Of course, those very same People getting ripped off want their money, right now, when they want it, and dont want to wait.

"Atwhay oday ouyay inkthay boutay atthay, Ampay?" Andy singing falsetto while playing the banja at the end of the episode was freaking classic. And after watching this episode, Im not thinking that Karen and Jim are gonna last long.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 30, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) My best friend is a Mariner fan/Cub fan and he still adores Freddy Garcia, re: Garcia's popularity with Mariner fans. I don't think Seattle has s*** for us unless it's Ichiro, and Ichiro ain't moving. You know, I dont know if I buy into that. I know that Nintendo-corp owns Seattle and they love Ichiro, but this is Ichiro's walk year, and I know he hasnt been too happy with the past couple of years in Seattle. Seattle is probably going to see if this team has a run in it, and if they dont, they will probably have to unload Ichiro so they at least get something in return for him besides draft picks. This doesnt mean that I think they are actively trying to trade him, but I dont think that he is unmovable. If the right deal came along, I think Bavasi would make a move

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 30, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) Anyone ever play a game called Wetrix on the Dreamcast? I think it was a 10 dollar cheap-o I bought at a Wal-mart when I was bored one night. Ended up being of the greatest games for the short-lived console. Essentially it was tetris style where you build up walls to keep as much water (from rain) in as you could. I wish I still had it. It was a great game. I played a game just like that for N64. It may have been the N64 version of it, I cant remember though. It was real basic, with a 3D view of a green piece of land, and you had to build walls to keep up with how fast the rain was coming.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 05:52 AM) I dunno. Maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention during ESPN to the baseball season, but it seems like he doesn't get enough. Thats because his performance didnt match the hype last year. For the first two months of the season, it was "King Felix" this and "King Felix" that, but Felix had quite a mediocre year and the RoTY chants died down rather quickly.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 10:45 AM) I was glancing at the papers and saw a few times that Hendry was suprised at how fast this deal came together. If I can read into that, it tells me that The Phills or Astros weren't in the ballpark for years, money, or no trade, and Soriano's agent jumped at the offer while it was there. LOL, I saw that too. As if Soriano would go bargaining around after that offer got accepted . I think the conversation went something like this: Hendry "So what kind of deal are you guys looking for in length and money?" Soriano's Agent "Well, we were really looking in the area of 8 years 136 million right now, I know you guys are looking for more of an OBP guy who walks more, but I think my client...." Hendry "Ok" Soriano's Agent "OK?" Hendry "Sure" Soriano's agent "Send over the contract. We will sign it this minute" Hendry "No problem, Im faxing it right now. I had a contract already drawn up, all I had to do was enter in the years and amount. Its just like writing a check." Soriano's agent, stifling a laugh "Its been a pleasure working with you, Jim. You really know how to make a man happy" Hendry "You know what? Kerry Wood's agent told me that just the other day. That really makes me feel good. Thank you" Soriano's agent "We will sign this and send it back to you ASAP. Thanks again, Jim"(the sound of high fives in the background) Hendry "No, really, thank you. Goodbye" -hangs up the phone- Hendry "Wow, that really came together fast!"

http://www.cracked.com/index.php?name=News...03&pageid=1 Dave Cambell is a quirky comic book reviewer/blogger who I tend to read here and there on his blog daveslongbox.blogspot.com. He was talking about his article for Cracked! magazine, and I thought some of you might enjoy this, I know I did.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) Read people! He and Stephen Merchant (who I think might actually be the funnier one) are writing Nov 30th's episode. Well why would I do that when i can get you to tell me again?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 20, 2006 -> 08:38 AM) I loved Kelly bringing Jim up to speed on "her life". I love the possibilities of the cantankerous Stanley for the future epidoes. He's easily one of my faves. I also am expecting to see some great Ryan/Jim battles. I bet Pam starts dating Ryan. Great news about Gervais!!! Whats the news? Is he going to be a big part of the show?

Did anyone see whenMarvin Harrison dropped a pass late in the 4th quarter and it was called a catch, and the replay upheld the catch? I dont know what those refs were looking at, that ball clearly hit the ground and bounced up into Harrisons arms. Its a moot point since the Colts lost anyways, but it was really obvious that Harrison lost the ball.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Nov 19, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) Andy: "I'm always a step ahead. I'm like a carpenter...who works on stairs." By the way, is it just me or has Creed been extra freaky this season? His reaction to the woman using the breast pump had me rolling on the floor. "Right place at the right time." I think Creed had his coming out show during the finale of season two, when he bragged about being a kleptomaniac and for the rest of the show was shown stealing various strange things. He has been in the background doing some hilarious things ever since.

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 07:59 AM) you're an idiot LOL, I read this quickly and I was like "What the heck? What a jerk!" Then I remembered the comeback match that Andy and Dwight had. Phenomenal What were their respective titles? Regional assistant manager and Regional Director of Managers? "Watch a movie, the director always comes first. Do you watch movies?" "I watch movies. I have seen over 240 of them"
-
Andy vs Dwight will be epic. I think it is going to be even better than the Pam/Jim/other girl (Karen?) mess.
