QUOTE(thedoctor @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 07:52 AM) i dislike vitale as much as the next guys, but i don't think those radio guys should have let that go on. I guess it depends if it was truly live or if it was tape delayed. Either way, Dukie V should be a little more aware of who is on the phone in one hand and the who is on the phone in the other.

If you hate Dukie V, and I know most of you do, then you might want to check out the audio links on this site of Vitale on a radio show: http://loserwithsocks.wordpress.com/2007/0...ps-and-oh-s***/ Apparantly Vitale was coming on a radio show called The Sports Animal and when the hosts came to him, he had a different phone in the other ear and he was talking smack about Florida and Joakim Noah because he didnt know that the show hosts were talking to him yet. The first audio link has the slip-up.

LOST! thread
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 09:47 AM) Lost is beginning to resemble so many of Stephen King's books. Great characters, great premise, and then somewhere along the way the story kind of fizzles and comes to an unfulfilling ending. I hope that doesn't happen here. I agree, but I will always remember that King gave us The Dark Tower series. There is always a chance to save LOST. I dont worry that the story is going to suck at the end, I really think it is going to be something really cool. I just worry that ABC is going to get impatient and axe it before it finally starts to come together, and THEN the story will be rushed and suck. There are some series out there where you can tell all of the sudden the execs stepped in and said "You have X amount of epidodes then it is done", hopefully that doesnt happen here I thought the meteorite hitting Hugos Chicken joint was hilarious, and Cheech played a nice sleazy Dad role.

Lovie Is Sticking Around
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 11:35 AM) I dont think the media was blowing it out of proportion so much as the Bears felt the pressure to make a deal happen. Also according to Lovie's agent Smith said he wanted to get the deal done because he didnt want the bears continuing to look bad. Unfortunately there is nothing the Bears can do anymore to prevent that. Even if they would win the Superbowl, the media will find something wrong about it.

What a senior night it will be, check that we have no seniors. echo echo echo Jimbo, contain it to the College Basketball thread, this has to do with picking your final 4, not your weekly Kansas by-line

Lovie Is Sticking Around
LOL, I cant wait to hear all of the Chicago Media who pegged the Bears as cheap and unwilling to pay fair value. Lovie has done nothing but move forward from the Dick Jauron Era and continue to progress, I like the fact that he is sticking around.

The OFFICIAL MVC Tournament Thread
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) With how much more the other top Valley teams have to lose compared to SIU (which is nothing since the NCAA will never give them a 2 or 3 seed even if they win out) and SIU's history in this tournament up until last year, I wouldn't count on it. Different seasons, different results. This team is pretty dang good. Every team SIu has played down the stretch has had something to lose, and SIU has risen up every time. The Kiel Center/Whatever they want to call it now is gonna be packed with Saluki fans this year

Mariotti out
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 12:30 PM) Thank God, Chicago fans want totally biased coverage. I can handle columnists that are positive or negative, I just like them to do their jobs (ie. do their own interviews) while they are writing, and quit snagging quotes from other articles and using them as their own. I enjoy Rosenbloom and he is just about as negative as possible about Chicago teams, Mariotti is just a glorified blogger in my mind.

Anyone hear Lawrence Holmes interview SIU HC Chris Lowery tonite? Good interview, Lowery said to ask Weber for a game at the United Center last year. Talked about the patience he has had with Shaw and Falker and how great Tatum and Young have been this year as senior leaders.

2007 MLB Catch-All Thread
ESPNews is reporting that Mark Prior isnt going to be pitching for the first 5 or 6 spring training games as a precautionary measure. Did he finish the season injured again last year? I though he actually pitched out the season after starting the season injured. Unbelievable.

Recruiting Thread
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 26, 2007 -> 04:27 AM) apparently bocot has canceled his visit to iowa and is committed to siu. since the salukis have no scholarships remaining, either a prep school or a transfer is probably in the offing. either way, nice get. bocot is a very talented player. his attitude has come in question in the past but i've read good things about how he's matured this year. A couple options have been mentioned on Salukitalk.net, but the consensus is that Jordan Armstrong will be transferring out and opening up the scholarship for Bocot. Armstrong was supposed to see minutes this year and he really hasnt taken the next step, which is unfortunate. The other option I have read is that Jamaal Foster(who graduates this year) will take an academic scholarship and open up an athletic scholarship for Bocot. Unless there is a mystery player who is planning to opt out, and the only players I am seeing are Tyrone Green, Tony Boyle, and Josh Bone. Of those three, I think Green would be the most likely, he had a tough transition from JUCO to D1 although he has been playing more minutes recently and hasnt been the offensive liability he was earlier in the year.

The Office
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) I'm pissed. For some reason, my DVR did not record The Office this week or Wednesday night's American Idol. It has recorded everything else this week, so I have no clue what happened. So I missed this episode. I assume that it is not available online anywhere? i thought at the end of every episode they say "If you missed this weeks episode you can view it on www.nbc.com"? I may be mistaken

The Office
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 02:17 AM) Not quite. The actual quote: "My brother just unloaded the jet skis and kinda took a bath . . . so we're gonna go get hammered" So Kenny (Roy's brother) was upset about getting so little in return for his jet skis which would explain your questioning of the weather and I guess would kind of explain the trashing of the bar though that was completely over the top on both Roy and Kenny's part. Ah, it makes sense now. When he said "took a bath", i interpreted it to mean taking a spill on his jet ski.

Police: Pacman's cash display sparked Vegas melee
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 24, 2007 -> 02:26 AM) As bad as the NBA players are, the NFL players are FAR worse people, but since the NFL has a communist hold on our nation in sports, nobody cares. Oh please explain.
