  1. HOW THE MEDIA COUNT LOOKS FROM AN INTERESTED VIEWER *Hangar posts numbers *JimH politely asks pointed questions about the legitamacy of the numbers. *Southsider2k5 chimes in, usually something funny about the numbers. *Hangar ignores JimH' question, instead answers(but not really) SS2k5, and once again drones about his time at WSI where the holy grail of bulls*** numbers resides, waiting to be rescued. *JimH repeats his question. *Hangar continues to ignore JimH. More droning. *Southsider2k5 pokes another hole in Hangars numbers. *Hangar references 1981 and 1982 out of nowhere. JimH pulls out his old Van Halen records but fails to care about the numbers. Neither does anyone else. *Hangar attempts to answer whats asked of him. Fails miserably, creates more questions about his numbers. *JimH' blood pressure rises as he asks his questions for the 503rd time, never to be answered. *thread closed. See you next week.
  2. Wow, didnt see the sexist twist in this plot. Im gonna have to keep an eye on this....
  3. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) I still don't believe they knew how much of a loss Coco Crisp was. He really got them going in that lead-off spot. Nothing against Micheals (or even Sizemore leading off) but that was a HUGE lost. Crisp-Sizemore-Blake would have killed us (and every other AL team) defensively. Wasnt Sizemore more or less the full time lead-off hitter last year, with Crisp hitting #2? Not to say that he wasnt a loss, because he was a big one, I just thought I remembered Crisp hitting second last year.
  4. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 01:04 AM) Are you kidding me? Rusch is a washed-up veteren. Williams is only like 23. If I were to tank, I'd rather do it with a bunch of kids than washed-up veterens. Have you seen Jerome Williams pitch? The guy is worse than Glendon Rusch. The Cubs have needed a starter all year and they have brought up Rich Hill, Angel Guzman, and Carlos Marmol before they brought up Jerome Williams, that should tell you something right there.
  5. I think Mariotti vs Hawk is probably one of the funnier things that has gone on in CHicago media in a long time. Both of them repeat their ridiculous mantra about each other pretty much every time they mention one another. Its the same thing, every time. Mariotti calls Hawk a complete homer/Reinsdorfs mouthpiece, Hawk calls Mariotti a hineybird, every time. they cannot ignore each other, Hawk would have to fill 5-10 minutes of airtime with something else and Mariotti would have to come up with column filler every other day. Mariotti used to really aggravate me with his columns, but not so much anymore. I see just as much as he does, and honestly I think this entire website(individually) has more baseball acumen/IQ/knowledge than Jay could ever have. His columns are more of a joke and knee-jerk reaction than anything else. Hawk is just a doddering old fart who is set in his ways and doesnt like hearing about his boss and himself and his team getting ripped so he tells the hineybird story(which was funny for a while, but now its getting old). I take em both with a nice dose of salt.
  6. Good lot of help this thread has done so far. sheesh
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:47 AM) I still watch it in the morning's a lot of the times Then you should be buying T-shirts by the dozens. Honestly, what is wrong with you? I already have it in 4 different colors! I never get sick of seeing Screeech spelled wrong!
  8. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:44 AM) oh, wasn\'t aware of /green in the online e-slang. well, if you see anything typed in green letters, that means sarcasm. Some people like to type out posts and leave them normal, then throw a /green at the end. Kind of like telling a funny joke with a straight face. People who havent been around for a while dont tend to catch on to it right away, dont feel bad. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:47 AM) With his speed, he could get lucky and have a ball hit a part of a pole or something, then see it bounce around and he can get an inside-the-park homerun. If Konerko can do it, anyone can do it. Or, he could hit a real homerun. He did it once this year....
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:40 AM) Why should I spend money to save his house when there are thousands of other people who lose their house and never got all the money he did as a child. you must not be a true Saved by the Bell fan. For shame
  10. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) Pablo has 1 career home run, i love the guy, but he\'ll never hit for a cycle. Yeah, thats why I indicated sarcasm(/green). I dont think so either. The question posed is pretty hypothetical. No one would know the answer to that. One could start the thread with "Do you suppose if Jose was left in he would have completely collapsed and given up 5 more runs?". Who knows what would have happened?
  11. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) Blanco has had multi hit games in the first two of the Tigers series... if anything having barret out has helped the cubs. He isnt out because of suspension, he is out because his back is bothering him
  12. If Pablo Ozuna didnt go 3 for 5, would he have hit for the cycle? /green
  13. Drunk Fan at the Metrodome gets tackled by the batboy Dont know if this has been posted yet
  14. QUOTE(ChiSox35 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) I was getting pretty sick of everyone whining about Uribe. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand? Why shouldnt people complain about him? He has given us nothing to rave about, thats for sure.
  15. You know, Im not hearing Zach, Slater and Kelly complaining that they cannot pay their bills. Hey screech, move on with your life. Put screech in the backburner and try something new, maybe an indie movie or something.
  16. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) Me too! I was in the Trade winds section. I was getting them right at the main forum page.
  17. QUOTE(Felix @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) No one in this thread even said that, he's making things up with his eyes. Hell, Kalapse even said it was a foolish move. Yeah, I just want to hear why Jeckle decided that everyone said that
  18. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) Wow, I thought I stumpled into the New York Knicks forum for a second here... Really, really inside joke for probably the 2 people here that also read the Realgm.com forums... I know Nitetrain is one. I can only guess what Knicks fans are talking about right now. Running Thomas out of town with torches and pitchforks is probably one thing
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 08:07 AM) David Segui has come forward, claiming that he is named in the affidavit, he pointed Grimsley to a doctor who could get him HGH. Segui still takes HGH today. Grimsley caim to Segui asking how HGH could hellp him recover from Tommy John surgery. Just curious, is HGH considered an illegal steroid or substance by federal standards? Or is it just a banned substance in baseball?
  20. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) So all of you would rather have Mack in CF with a 3 run lead then BA... How did this become everyone's opinion?
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 09:02 AM) Not sure if this is because of that, but my Auto-Protect caught several things that don't belong trying to get onto my computer in the past 5 minutes. you and me both. I emailed Jason about it right away. Avast! antivirus was not happy with Soxtalk
  22. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) Yea, if you like CRAP sound quality. Im just saving up for an Ipod accessible head unit. I hate the Itrip, I think its a piece of crap.
  23. i really havent gotten into the argument, i just have been watching the entire thing unfold because it is really interesting the way it has gone back and forth. I just found it curious that there are all these new guys jumping in to his defense, not that their opinions are wrong because they have a right to their opinion. Personally, I was ignoring the media watch and paying attention to the arguments. i really dont think the media watch is some sort of genius calculatory method to really finding out which team is more popular, its just another way for Hangar to express frustration at the Cubs. Carry on,
  24. How do all of the newbies automatically filter into this thread lately?
  25. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 10:49 AM) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1140394452644 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1140394452806 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1077625851703 Enjoy. Yeah, thanks. That really has nothing to do with what i was talking about, but thanks. lol. I have a Griffin Itrip, btw.
