  1. Pretty sad. The effects of Meth But what can you expect from a drug that is considered ready for consumption when the mix dissolves a aluminum can.
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 6, 2006 -> 07:36 AM) Jenks was horrible last night. I don't see where starting the inning would have made him any better, and I don't see where having a runner on base should make any difference in how he pitches. He came into the game in the 8th inning with a guy on base in the playoffs and WS IIRC last year. He just had a bad night. It happens. Unfortunately his night was so bad he allowed his inherited runner to score, and 3 more. I disagree with Ozzie's moves from time to time, but not last night. I don't see where having Jenks start the 9th inning would have made any difference. He was awful. ^^^^^^^^^ Jenks didnt have his heat last night, and he didnt have his command. Plus, teams are taking the White Sox to the opposite field like nobodies business now. Hawk and DJ keep saying "These teams have a plan tonite". No, they all have the same plan against the Sox right now, take it to opposite field because they are pounding the outside half of the plate. Did anyone notice how erratic the strikezone was last night? It had no impact on the final outcome, but the Ump was really all over the place.
  3. QUOTE(joeynach @ May 5, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) I was in reference to Magglois Injury in 04 when he collided with Willie. Maggs was held out of the lineup for several days, but when came back everyone breathed a huge sigh of releif with just a calf or muscle strain. He continued to play for sometime before finally going down with the nagging problem being diagnosed a meniscus tear. Then when he came back for that 1 game in cleveland July 31 I think it was and re-strained the muscle he was done for the year. So far to me this whole situation mirrors something just like that same situation. An injury that should be minor, why has it been a months worth of bothering him. Now 5 str8 days out the lineup this weeks, sometime out of the lineup last week. All sounds a little fishy for a mere strain and nothing else. I dont remember anything mentioning a calf strain when talking about Magglio back in 04. It was a knee injury from the get-go. You are reading too much into nothing, IMO Dye is resting his calf, and Mackowiak is getting more ABs. That is what Mackowiak was brought in for, insurance.
  4. QUOTE(joeynach @ May 5, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) I am starting to get really frustrated with this whole dye situation. This injury has now been a huge question mark for our lineup the last 2 weeks. I dont know why they dont put hom on the dl, he obviously is injured enough to be so. What it sounds like is they are not too sure why he is so hurt from just a calf strain. To me it sounds like a tear to partial tear and possible torn miniscus. I think him not being on the DL is an absolute joke and unfair to this team. To have that question mark hang over the teams lineup everyday in the clubhouse is not fair to the other 25 guys. Someone should be called up to get some playing time since JD has basically been not ready to play for at least 7 days. You might as well Dl him maybe retro to last week and call someone up and give JD another 7 or 8 days off while you really investigate the source of his limping and calf situation. Do you have a "Jumping to Conclusions" mat at your front door, by chance?
  5. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 5, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) Big Sqwert doing his best Ali G imitation in vegas
  6. I just about had a heart attack this morning when Colin Cowherd came on. I was really bummed out, i thought Carmen and Silvy got canned. I guess I am in the minority, but I really like their show. It stinks that they are moving to the later slot, because I rarely tune into radio after 5 or 6, and the 7-10 shift on ESPN radio seems to be a neverending revolving door. I have heard both Salisbury and Rosenbloom on the radio recently, and I think they could be fun.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ May 5, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) My guess is the GM will take the fall, and soon. How long has Baird been there? And if Baird takes the fall, then Bell will be following shortly. Usually new GMs like to install their guys.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2434810 Looks like upper management is yet again going to ax a manager who was given a crappy team from the outset. It really is sad what has happened to the Royals, they used to be a very well run club, and had many loyal fans. I dont blame them for not coming though, thats for sure
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 5, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) Is that your attempt of sarcasm? I didnt think it was an attempt. I think it was a clean follow-through
  10. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 5, 2006 -> 08:07 AM) It's b/c Dusty is a moron. He prefers unproductive veterens over young players. He should construct his lineup like this: 1. Pierre (CF) 2. Cedeno (SS) 3. Ramirez (3B) 4. Murton (LF) 5. Barrett © 6. Walker (1B) 7. Hairston (2B) 8. Jones (RF) 9. Pitcher He has the players to do it w/o Lee, but he's stupid This really isnt much different from what he is doing now. Both hairston AND Perez have sucked so far at the plate, his hands are tied at second base offensively so much that the Bynum kid started yesterday. And Barrett has been out with a sprained finger or something or another, and the automatic out Henry Blanco(except against the Sox) has been starting. Jones has been everything that we Sox fans thought he would be though. It is inexcusable to get picked off of second twice in one week.
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 5, 2006 -> 08:04 AM) Bulls should package their lottery pick from the Knicks and maybe Deng for Garnett. If it were only that easy. The money has to match up, the Wolves would get much more than a pick and Deng from the Bulls.
  12. Zarqawi is a moron with the guns. I read the CNN story, and they were saying that these guys were burning their hands after grabbing the barrels of the guns shortly after they were fired, Zarqawi couldnt figure out how to shoot until someone else fixed his jammed gun. It really was comical how bad this "baddest man in Iraq" was.
  13. Im curious if the Wikipedia shows the date when people make entries. It would be interesting if someone added that curse into the database sometime last year.
  14. ESPN must hate all of the webgems coming out of the Southside this year, It has been a steady stream of them too. I had to give it to Iguchi, even if he did cause his own fall, his presence of mind to get his body in the right position to throw the ball was just incredible, not to mention the situation in the game.
  15. Brand>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Curry and Chandler. Infinity
  16. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 4, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) I'd rather have him than Eddy Curry and Elton Brand This is why we dont pay attention to your rantings
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) Spiderman's definitely my favorite of this comic book genre of movies. The new Batman was very good; I bet the Superman will be solid also. I bought the new Batman right away, and I think it will be one of the best if Bale remains batman
  18. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) Where did you hear that about the Spidey films? I've heard nothing of the sort, and have actually heard that Tobey and gang are still signed on after this one, especially with the possible introduction of Venom, they would be insane to kill this cast off now. I read that Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco have signed for 3 movies and thats all they are committed for. the hot rumor is that Jake Gyllenhal is the next spiderman. I didnt say that the series is over, just a new cast
  19. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ May 2, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) I think they are doing the same thing with the Batman movies too. Redoing them.... but better. With comic books, all a director has to do is follow a different timeline or make one up of his own. This isnt the last X-men movie, only the last one in this series. The next spiderman movie will be the last with the current cast, but it wont be the last. Hopefully the comic book companies will demand quality instead of quantity though, because it would be very easy to just start mass-producing these things like nobodies business. So far, I have really liked Batman, Spiderman, and the X-men movies. Superman looks like it was pretty well done too. Hopefully some of his crazier enemies start showing up in forthcoming movies, superman has fought some good ones. /nerd rant.
  20. QUOTE(3E8 @ May 2, 2006 -> 05:04 PM) We could possibly find out one week from today. E3 is so exciting for game geeks like me. Its like planning for Christmas
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) Let's play a drinking game: Every time Ed Farmer says "you know when Joe Crede goes to right field, he's locked in", you take a shot. Or every time he calls for a homerun, you take half a shot of beer. That way, you can have 9 full beers down by the end of the 1st inning.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 2, 2006 -> 09:13 AM) Not really. The Red Sox did want Damon back. Shapiro was quoted saying that Thome didnt fit into their future plans. To appease the fans they gave him an offer, but it wasnt realistic or market value for a player Thome's caliber. He was basically forced out, and was hurt because of it. Jerry Manuel even said that leaving cleveland was tough on Jim. Jerry or Charlie?
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 2, 2006 -> 08:39 AM) I do believe that was the Timo game winning single game versus the Angels. thats right, didnt Vlad hit a game tying or go-ahead homerun when Hermanson was warming up? QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ May 2, 2006 -> 08:50 AM) Thanks! NP
