The Sox are not and will not be the rays. This is long play by the organization here, they have stocked their minors and are awesome at scouting. They trade people like Adames because they can replace him immediately. The Sox aren't gonna do that by trading someone off the major league roster today.

I have to think that MLB teams would have sniffed around to see if there was a way to get around it. The fact that he is going on this entire season and last year with no interest after the Braves dropped interest in him means there is something there that is giving them pause. plus, right or wrong the guy has a reputation of being a me-first dude.
