  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 11:20 PM) The Cubs are playing a night game on Monday...interesting, guess they're more concerned with attendance/concession revenues. They play at 2:20, and it was originally 3:20
  2. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 11:33 AM) Lopez with his new Velocity should cruise to an easy win here. He regularly sat at 97 in his starts last year
  3. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 07:31 PM) I’ve not heard much about him. Can he get it over the plate? Sorta, lol

    2018 catch-all

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 08:36 AM) Im surprised ive had that card for as long as I did and its never had fraudulent charges before. Based on what I was doing I am guessing someone skimmed it at a restaurant. Nah, think bigger. Restaurants arent usually point of breach. Some are, but its usually much bigger QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 1, 2018 -> 10:46 AM) I have a lot of things set up and monitor my debit cards a lot but one thing incredibly annoying to me is not being able to log-in to the accounts for which I'm an authorized user. We have 2 diff credit cards we use for different rewards, it's hard to keep track of them when only one can view the other. I know statements from mint, but, it's dumb (and probably necessary, but still dumb!) You can thank rampant family fraud for that
  5. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 09:47 AM) I think you're less than 15 hours from watching an extremely frustrating loss live and you're saying ridiculous things. I don't think 33,000 for opening day for a team with little expectations in 35 degrees and snow is a bad number. I also don't think that was Hahn signing those players outside of Soria and Holland, and Holland ate more than 135 innings for a team that was TRYING to lose. If whoever they pick at 4 this year turns out to be a star, you'll probably be thanking Hahn and Holland's 6+ ERA & 1.7+ WHIP. This should be the last below .500 year for awhile, assuming Jimenez, Kopech, Moncada, and Giolito pan out. Nah, he always says ridiculous things
  6. It might have started as a work and just got out of control. I still think it could be used for Khabib/Conor promotion, but there is a lot of legal stuff to sift through
  7. So Conor had an interesting night
  8. Opening night tonite, spring season double headers. gonna be cold AF and probably snowing :/
  9. i think Saladinos back is going to be an issue with him going forward. And that isnt something people just recover from, unfortunately
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 5, 2018 -> 08:08 AM) Jones wasn't exactly fooling anyone...some of those balls would have been hits or even homers in the middle of the summer. The roof was closed and the ball was jumping the entire series, I dont think the summer would have made those balls go farther. Nate was just fortunate they didn’t get elevated
  11. That’s has to be just as far as Avi’s yesterday
  12. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 04:20 PM) Explain to me why Chase field has one then? Monsoon season? Chase Field experiences heat up to 120 degrees in the summer, and iirc they close the roof prior to night games and then open it up at night. Not even close to the same thing as a 90 degree summer night And no way in hell they(Chicago) would close the roof on a clear summer night
  13. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 04:13 PM) Geez, you missed the point. Between 7 and 8, yeah you need shade. My point 2as that when we left the game at 10:15 it was 91 degrees F. It sucked. Was 99 at 7pm when the game started. That was my point. So do you think in the middle of the summer on a (presumably) clear 90+ degree evening in Chicago, it they had a retractable roof they would have it closed?
  14. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 12:58 PM) I haven't noticed this at much this season, but it is really annoying when the broadcasts become a glorified Q & A session with Stone. There's a difference between deferring and acting like this is the first time you've ever watched a baseball game. I think you are just thrown off because the Q and A session now stars Stone instead off Hawk. It was always like that with Hawk
  15. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 02:01 PM) No, it goes to more than that. It completely eliminates weather related delays other than the rare case of a tornado warning. Also, the on field product is better because the players are also more comfortable. I don't think it is realistic to do this anymore, because of all of the new stadiums that have been built in the last 25 years. Furthermore, there are multiple uncomfortably hot days in the dead of summer. When this generation of stadiums start to be replaced, it should be mandatory. A forward thinking commissioner would have had them be mandatory in 1988 when the Canadians engineered the first one. Come on man, stop acting like the commissioner in 1988 should have predicted global warming and made it a rule that retractable domes are mandatory. They were costly and unweildy and imperfect back then, and every dome was outfitted with awful astroturf. I get it that early spring weather is annoying, but get over it.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 12:00 PM) They can't let him walk, but the good news is its very unlikely another team would give him a max contract, so the Bulls shouldn't have to either. There is always a Hornets/Kings/Magic GM out there willing to make a splash
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 11:34 PM) Ohtani now 3/8 after taking all of spring training to come up with those numbers...make that 4/9. you are so itching to declare him the best international prospect ever, arent you
  18. I was less than impressed with Lavine. And while letting him walk makes the Butler trade look terrible, I just can’t see giving him a max contract (which he will obviously be seeking). His effort, shot selection, and absolute disinterest in playing with Dunn and Lauri really left a sour taste in my mouth
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 09:33 AM) Are any other Bears fans sorta unexcited about this draft? Like there's one scenario where it goes great (Chubb), then probably good (Fitzpatrick), then okay, I guess (Nelson), then well if we have to (Smith, Edmunds). Add to that the Bears are once again not the "fulcrum" pick. Though there are teams that are keen to trade up, the bears are not the team ahead of teams that people worry about. Boring. Not at all, just the opposite to be honest. Looking forward to seeing what holes they fill first and then see the fallout from the post draft free agency bonanza that always happens with June cuts
  20. So, how many of you are willing to give Lavine the max?
  21. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 3, 2018 -> 10:32 PM) I bet it annoys some Sox players as well. The whistle is just stupid clowning. Boston should be told to knock it off. Hero whistling for sure
