  1. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 15, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Yea, the A's aren't nearly as bad as their record indicates. Their 1-11 record in one run games is what makes them appear to be so bad. 1-11 in one run games vs 4-13 on the road. Immovable object vs unstoppable force
  2. QUOTE (SCCWS @ May 15, 2015 -> 12:08 PM) Look at your post. In his last 10 games going back to 5/3 he has hit .222. So the other games in May dont count?
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 15, 2015 -> 12:31 PM) The Bulls don't really have a choice but to go for it again the next 2 seasons. They have Rose's contract on the books, 1 more season of Gasol, and an impending max deal for Butler. Many in this thread have touched on the team's needs. I think they need to explore dumping Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson. Hopefully, they can use the savings to get more athletic at other spots. The salaries are a problem though. I can find someone to do Noah's job for less than the $12.5 million owed to him and Taj Gibson is just not an $8 million per year player. That leaves the team weaker defensively but they'd need to find cheaper replacements somehow. I feel like LaMarcus Aldridge is a pipe dream but if that is at all possible, they need to explore it. He shares an agent with Rose and rumors were that Chicago was a place he'd like to play. Regardless, should be an interesting offseason on the horizon yet again...... The thing is, Noah is an expiring contract. So while his skills are vastly declined and the player may not be in demand, he does have value to other teams.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 14, 2015 -> 02:12 PM) The new Mad Max movie has only 1 negative review out of around 120 at RT (and yet there doesn't seem to be a huge buzz about it...maybe Tom Hardy just doesn't have a big enough fanbase/awareness yet?). Pitch Perfect 2, which is widely expected to win the box office battle this weekend, is around 75%, which is still not too bad for a sequel. Yea, maybe not in China. That movie is making waves in the US
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 15, 2015 -> 11:52 AM) You are way too nice to Hinrich. He is hilariously bad at basketball at this point and the fact that Thibs continues to give him decent minutes is a joke. 20 minute yesterday without producing anything positive and that really hasn't been the exception to the rule for him. what sucks is Hinrichs future is in his own hands. He has a player option
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2015 -> 11:52 AM) Evidently, if the Bulls were able to time things right with Jimmy Butler's max deal, they would be able to move Taj / Noah and be in a position to offer max money to one of Aldridge / Gasol / Love. "Pau, talk to Marc. Tell him about the opera"
  7. QUOTE (Dunt @ May 15, 2015 -> 09:44 AM) pew pew I am just trying to get him to issue more possible threats of personal attacks.
  8. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 15, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) I wouldn't mind being forced to start 15 more consecutive game threads make sure B>W doesnt cut in and take a gamethread in the middle of your streak.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 15, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) It's funny cause the CW shows are pretty good as of late. Arrow, The Flash and iZombie. They also just came out with a trailer for Legends of Tomorrow and it looks awesome. I think Supergirl could fit in there though because the audience target is younger than CBS primetime. And, it is supposed to be part of the same universe as Flash/Arrow/LoT. Just seems silly to put it on another channel
  10. For us it has to cross the plate as well. I have played in leagues where you can steal bases too, now that is weird. The pitcher can fake pitch, and if he fakes and you are off the base, you are out. If he delivers the pitch to the plate you can run
  11. The Bears also have hired Anthony "Champ" Kelly as director of Player Personnel, he had been Asst Director of Player Personnel for the Broncos http://www.9news.com/story/sports/nfl/denv...kelly/27333393/

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 14, 2015 -> 11:59 AM) It does, but I don't think it was made for old folks like me. I think teenagers may be into this. I will probably check out the first few episodes to see how it goes, but I would guess this is for younger people. I think it will be popular for a few years, definitely for the younger crowd. I am still surprised it is on CBS, it seems tailor made for CW
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 14, 2015 -> 11:24 AM) Someone who follows Illinois football way more than I do, what's with this Beckman/player accusation crap? My twitter feed has been loaded the last few days and it all seems to suggest the player quit the team and is making s*** up. Is that the general consensus? Seems like a lot of players/ex-players are tweeting stuff today in support of Beckman and his staff. a lot of back and forth, from what i am hearing on the Score and reading on twitter. There was a story out of Toledo that had some of his ex players confirming some of what Simon said, and there is a lot of circling the wagons by current staff and players. Cvijanovich said they basically went over his head and had doctors remove part of his meniscus so that he could play sooner, and he didnt find out until after the surgery. He also has stated that the Illini employed(i thought he said still employ) a head trainer that isnt certified. Its ugly
  15. Its kind of funny that Mosgov, JR Smith and Shumpert were just a part of the running gag that was the Knicks when they were with "superstar" Melo, but put them next to Lebron and they are extremely valuable role players

  17. Come on Bulls. Get it back to cleveland, then teabag them at home like you did to Milwaukee.
  18. I will totally admit that Jordan got the calls, that is indisputable. I dont ever remember him talking a ref off of a goaltend though And Dellavadovas day after tech is hilarious. They eject Taj, give DELLAVADOVA two shots at the line, AND the ball. Thanks for nothing
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 13, 2015 -> 09:58 AM) It's really difficult to have an avulsion of the bone where the tendon attaches and not damage the ligament as well. They attach to pretty much the same place. When it happened, I believe Jeff Passan was tweeting about it and he was mentioning multiple sources talking about it looking like an injury that normally happens to children and teenagers. Edit: here are the tweets @JeffPassan: Jarrod Parker's latest injury is very common in children. Because bones aren't fully formed, the UCL literally tears off a piece of bone. @JeffPassan: It's why torn UCLs are rare in 11- and 12-year-olds. The opposite is true in adults. Drilling from multiple TJs can leave bone vulnerable. @JeffPassan: Jarrod Parker's injury is infinite kinds of unfortunate. If he throws another pitch, what an incredible story. No one back from three TJs. @JeffPassan: @kevinfarmermd @injuryexpert So if I'm reading correctly, same ligament is used but bone is repaired? Titanium buttons or another method? @JeffPassan: As this study shows (h/t @kevinfarmermd), Jarrod Parker may not necessarily need a third TJ. Surgery still brutal. http://t.co/srdPJiBxVL
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2015 -> 09:29 AM) Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 5h5 hours ago There is a possibility that Jarrod Parker might need a third Tommy John surgery, writes Susan Slusser. http://www.sfgate.com/athletics/article/Mo...ers-6259810.php … A possibility? I could have sworn they said this recent injury, the tendon tore a part of the bone off
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) https://twitter.com/ESPNStatsInfo/status/598488066521583616 That graph is hilarious, and makes it look like 2015 is in the books. Stras was pretty consistent until about June last season
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) I know his peripherals aren't awful, but it's disappointing to see how much worse Strasburg's stuff is since he debuted. thats because the stuff he had in college destroyed his elbow, and he knows he shouldnt do that anymore. Now he isnt super human, but merely extra good human
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2015 -> 05:13 AM) Stanton hit one all the way out of Chavez Ravine. 5th in history. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 12, 2015 -> 09:41 PM) http://m.mlb.com/video/v112594683/?c_id=mlb
