This game is bananas, 41-38 Duke -
I don't think it is bulls***, but I also don't think it shows the entire picture in context. There is something missing because Webb was a turnstile last season
-
Selective memory? I didn't say "Webb was the worst player on the line last year", I said "Webb f***ing sucked". The guy was terrible, just because he happened to be one of the better players on a s*** line doesn't make him less of a bad player. He was surrounded by bad players. Mills may have had a bad year, but the guy is a rookie and even though he had help and graded out bad, there were very few times that I or anyone watching the game in this thread said "Mills really blew that play". Take out the San Fran game, Cutler pushed Webb in the packers game because Mathews was abusing him. Consistently we watched Webb struggle, and it cost him a job in thia new regime You have to look at grades to say Mills sucked, but it is glaringly obvious that Webb sucked, grades or not.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 07:48 PM) I feel like your opinion might be skewed because when Webb was bad he was really bad. In the San Francisco game last year he gave up 3 sacks and 5 hurries. The rest of the year he gave up 4 sacks. It was his body of work beyond last year. Saying he wasn't so that bad last year is like saying this piece of crap doesn't smell as bad now as it did before. It still smells, it's still a piece of crap. It's Angelo's fault for having Webb as the only viable option, but the guy was terrible.

I generally don't disagree with sabermetric and grading and such, but Webb f***ing sucked

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 04:15 PM) CM Punk was champion a entire calendar year, Punk got his run. Bryan was champ 25 seconds and not given any chance to run with the ball, they are not comparable. I am not saying his run would be good or bad, but come on give him a fair chance to see. Vince and HHH do not see him as that guy no matter how over he is. Did Punk get that title handed to him right away? Or did he have to get kicked around a while and put up a huge stink about it, and start challenging the McMahons in order to get his shot? How long was CM Punk in the WWE before he got a title run?

Every year people make resolutions, and fail to keep them. Sometimes minutes after the new years ball drops. I am going to share my one resolution with you guys, and if you so wish, share one of your own. Over the last two years I have gained some unhealthy weight. I am by no means morbidly obese, but I have gained some weight that I notice every day when I see myself in the mirror. Im not going on a crash diet, but I am cutting out soft drinks, eating sugary snacks, and replacing them with fruit and veggies. I am replacing leftovers for lunch with salads, and I am going to walk a minimum one mile a day as well as start a morning excercise routine. My father has had not one, but two triple bypasses done in my lifetime, and frankly at 35 years old that scares me. His first triple bypass was when he was 35. I dont drink much at all(he drank pretty hard), I dont smoke(he still does, at least a pack a day), and i am a lot more active at this point in my life than he ever was, but at the same time I am starting to feel effects of getting older and I am not really pleased with it. I dont want my kids to see what I saw. I just wanted to write this down, "say it out loud" if you will, so i could go back and look at it and try and keep this resolution. Comment if you want, make your own resolution if you want. Any way about it, have a happy new year!

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 03:57 PM) You may not have any idea where this is going, but I have been watching wrestling since 1980. I do not need to wait a week or 2 to see a guy get moved out of title scene. I have seen it many times over the years. come on now, pretty much everyone in this thread has been watching wrestling anywhere from 15-30 years, maybe more. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Of course there are favorites, and of course things fall apart for unknown and unexplained reasons. Taking Bryan out of the title hunt by no means says that he is getting buried. CM Punk hasnt been in a true title hunt for a while now, and he didnt get buried, he still gets plenty of pop and main events PPVs. Bryans whole schtick has been the unappreciated little man, he is the new Rey Mysterio. It has been since he got fired from the company for choking a guy while in NXT, and his fan support brought him back. The guy will get chances, he isnt dead in the water.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 03:45 PM) We have no idea where this is going, Like others have said Wyatts whole shpeel was taking down the machine, and he spoke of how he never got anywhere behind the fans and such. I would really be shocked if this takes him out of "the chase". Give it a week or 2 before you bad mouth it. To be honest, even though I love him as a performer, the YES gimmick has started to annoy me. I'm ready for him to start something fresh. The Wyatt's dont really seem to be taking down the machine though. Their targets have been Kane, Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk. Not exactly like they are trying to annoy HHH and the McMahons. I am interested though, I wasnt sure if their backwoods/cajun/the hills have eyes approach would work.

Mills may have graded out worse than Webb, and may have allowed a lot of hurries of Cutler, but his lack of penalties were really nice. And, I didnt see Jay get absolutely crushed by a rusher because Mills totally whiffed on a block. And towards the end of Webbs career as a Bear, im pretty sure Kellen Davis had to hang around Webb to chip block and help out Webb as much as possible because Cutlers brains were getting scrambled. They did leave him out on an island a lot though, but then again they play opposite sides of the line, and the LT is supposed to be the stronger lineman.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 31, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10220178...rew-bynum-trade Sigh. I hate the Bulls FO. I wasnt in favor of the trade when I thought they had to hold on to the cancer that is Bynum, but if they can shed Deng, AND waive Bynum to save 12.5 million, I am all for it
