  1. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 10:23 AM) First of all, an open handed punch does not exist. That would be called a slap. And this "open handed punch" occurred right after he was "open handed punched" first. Just play on. It does not warrant 15 yards. Oh hey look lets get finicky with descriptions because you dont like the call. Second guy swinging always gets busted, we all know this. Hit to the head always warrants 15 yards. If the ref saw both hits it would have been offsetting penalties, but obviously he didnt. It wasnt ridiculous that the call was made, it was unfortunate that he missed both hits and only saw the second.
  2. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) It probably was a bad call, but that's the NFL these days. If you hit a QB at all after the play you're gonna get penalized. We'll just call that a wash for the ridiculous unnecessary roughness called on the Packers on the opening kickoff. There were only I think 5 or 6 penalties combined all game so it was pretty obvious they were just going to let them play. He open hand punched the guy in the helmet right in front of the ref, i dont see how that was ridiculous
  3. I dont think Lovie will ever win a ring if he is allowed to pick his own offensive coordinator.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 30, 2013 -> 09:29 AM) Bears road opponents next year: Lions, Packers, Vikings, Falcons, Panthers, 49ers, Patriots, Jets. 1-7 or 2-6 on the road? So much could change between now and then. And really, a lot WILL change
  5. Shanahan and Frazier given their walking papers
  6. Toub was the same situation as Marinelli, both of them felt it would be awkward staying with Trestman after Lovie got fired so the Bears allowed them to move in if they wanted to/had offers.
  7. If it is true, it will be an interesting thing to watch. This isn't a nobody, this is one of(if not the) best QBs in the league. This isn't a Jason Collins 12th man on the bench
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 10:11 PM) Henry Melton did not miss the entire season on IR. He played the first two games (might have even been part of the 3rd game...I don't remember). Blew out his knee in game 3 vs the Steelers Maybe he meant Kelvin Hayden
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 09:44 PM) The Eagles just got stuffed on 4th and inches on the goal line. This is going to be a very interesting finish. The eagles returned the favor
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) Since I didn't have the Bears game out here of course I watched the Seahawks. I must say, this tackle on a punt return was pretty awesome... Is that Tavon Austin?
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) I fully expect the Niners to beat GB next week and I would have expected the same if it were at Soldier Field. The Niners are Rodgers boogeyman. They are going to hit Rodgers as many times as they can
  12. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 09:07 PM) I'm not even going to read through this tonight, but as someone who's been pretty hard on Jay this year, this one was not on him. He played very well. It is worth the read thru
  13. The #Browns have fired coach Rob Chudzinski, per team source.
  14. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/12/29/201...bears-schedule/ The Bears are also scheduled to play all the teams in the AFC East and NFC South. Here are the Bears’ 2014 opponents (dates and times TBD): Home New Orleans Saints Tampa Bay Buccaneers Buffalo Bills Miami Dolphins Philadelphia Eagles OR Dallas Cowboys Detroit Lions Green Bay Packers Minnesota Vikings Away Atlanta Falcons Carolina Panthers New England Patriots New York Jets San Francisco 49ers Detroit Lions Green Bay Packers Minnesota Vikings
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 08:08 PM) McDaniels is back in New England. I think it is worth noting that this brain trust that couldn't wait to get rid of Cutler used one of those first round picks on his heir apparent, Tim Tebow
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 07:50 PM) Another thing I don't see talked about: Cutler injuries. If you think McCown is no good, that means we have punted three seasons because of Cutler injuries. This one, 2011, and the infamous "knee" game against GB. This isn't a "Cutler is a p****" thing, since I think he is actually an extremely tough SOB. But he hasn't been super durable by any stretch, missing 12 entire games over the past three seasons. This doesn't include his early exit from the Houston game last year (we lost by 7, did he make us lose that game and thus the playoffs?) or the Washington and Detroit games this season. Does anyone feel like his injury history is a bit too worrisome to commit a bunch of money to him? I bet Lovie Smith is sitting somewhere feeling pretty pissed off about those injuries Lovie should be pissed at Angelo for giving him offensive lines that play at a high school level and himself for his terrible offensive coordinators
  17. It's weird to see Orton with surfer boy hair and no neck beard
  18. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) Don't crucify me for saying this, but letting Urlacher walk was letting ego supercede sense. Say whatever you want about him, he led the D on the field and I doubt they'd be so lazy out there with him. Lol no. This is terrible thinking, Urlacher was done, his knee is shot
  19. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 03:23 PM) We beat Minnesota and were resting starters this week. This is on us 100%. Absolutely
  20. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 03:05 PM) yeah, about two years ago. I just read her wiki, her positive test coincided with her contract expiring with Strikeforce. I have to think that played a part in her not being in the UFC right now. Dana White usually puts his big fighters head to head, I don't really see him protecting Rousey
