  1. Weakest region! UCONN can be dangerous. Duke should have been a 3, and we will see about Xavier. I think Duke was the lowest 2 seed and they could not be put in the east with 1 seed UNC both out of the ACC, so UCLA got a them. I think louisville is a better 3 then Xavier though and I can't figure out that one.
  2. Toughest region! Being the #1 overall seed did very little for my Heels. Tennesee the worst 2 seed, I don't think so, Louisville the lowest 3 seed , please. Only one of those two can get to Carolina though, IF Carolina makes it through the second/third round with ND, IND, Arkansas types. Gonna be a tough road for anyone coming out of this region.
  3. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) Not to hijack the thread, but for sheer entertainment/fun year in and year out i'd say the Big East tournament is where its at - no stage like Fri/Sat night at the Garden on ESPN in basketball's mecca(NYC)...but just my opinion. That is debateable, and I can see your point, but the "grand daddy" is for being the original and longest running for the majors. ACC is that no doubt.
  4. Tennesee in a close one at the half. #1 seed ramifications for the Vols possibly.
  5. Nice workman like performance by the Heels. Just seemed like a day at the office. Ty Lawson seemed to have a bit of his burst back at times, hopefully he is full speed from here on out.
  6. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) We need at least two wins to be on the bubble (that assumes we beat UNC in the second game). If we win 3 we could be in depending on what else happens. It won't happen though. I don't think any Seminole fan is even confident about the WF game. There's no way we could be UNC too. Looking good for the 'Noles to get past Wake they are a comfortable 15 points up as I return from my lunch.
  7. 'Nova is looking strong against G'town. Looks like they will be dancin'. WOW I take that back, I see they are now down 15 with 3 and a half to go. I thought a close loss would be enough let alone a win, but now with a big loss I'm not so sure if it's NIT or the big dance for the Cats.
  8. My heart says Carolina, but it is wide open. I like Kansas matching up with anyone.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 02:00 PM) If San Diego wins, the WCC gets 3 bids and somebody on the bubble loses their spot, just as sombody loses their spot if Elon beats Davidson or Cleveland State beats Butler, which would give the SoCon and Horizon League 2 bids instead of 1. Also, there will be a lot of Kent State fans during the MAC tournament, and I'm sure there is another case or two of this I'm forgetting. You simply can't keep Gonzaga, St. Mary's, Butler, or Davidson out of the tournament. I can't see Bill and Mary beating a veteran team like George Mason in a game that important though. I would agree, but Davidson is not a lock at all if they do not win there tournament. They are bubble at best without the crown and a BAD loss to a bad Elon will probably sink them into the NIT.
  10. IU is losing another recruit. 4 star guard Terrell Holloway announces that he is getting out of his letter of intent. He said it should be official today, but he will be free and clear of it by the end of the week at the latest.
  11. QUOTE(gbuk @ Mar 9, 2008 -> 12:15 PM) So does anyone want to argue with me about my claim that Gillispie is an "insanely awesome" coach? The job he's done this year is absolutely unbelievable. I can't say enough about it. We're in the tournament, 100% lock, no question. I give Kentucky a lot of credit, when Patterson went down I thought that was lights out for them and their chances. They have proved that they can play without him and the injury shouldn't be held against them now by the comittee, so a well deserved trip to the dance is on the way for the 'Cats.
  12. The grand daddy of confrence tourney's! If my Heels can get to the finals they should have a good chance at a #1 seed, but winning it will lock up the #1 east seed with a trip through the sweet 16 staying completly within the tarheel state. (Greensborough & Charlotte I think)
  13. Zack Novak from Chesterton commits to Michigan. Tough hard nosed player should help the Wolverines.
  14. E.C. Central's repeat hopes are dashed by a terrible South Bend Riley team. Easily the weakest of the 4 opponents they faced to this point and they blew a 13 point lead with 2 minutes left (14-0 run) to end up losing 61-60 with a buzzer beater put back. Memphis recruit Angel Garcia was a non factor in both games. Congrats to a far outmanned Riley for advanceing to the final four where they will be far outmanned again against Marion and their N.C. State bound tandem.
  15. Ohio State gets to try to beat Mich. State back to back. In what appears to be a play-in game for the NCAA for them. Win and they are in, lose and it is doubtful they will be invited to the big dance.
  16. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 6, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) Ebanks has been very consistent in that he is playing a game of wait and see with IU. He still loves IU but plans to wait to see what happens before making a final decision. He has also been very honest in that he will talk to a few select schools (he did not name them) to ensure he has a backup plan should he not feel the IU situation is for him. He was clear that IU will still be every change when a new coach is named. The key is how long will he wait? If we do not have a coach for another 4-6 weeks, which is almost a given, will he get impatient? My guess is yes. Dakich and Ray McCallum have already come to NY to watch him play and visit with him. He indicated he was impressed with them, but in the end, it won't matter until a new coach is named. Guess you could consider that a decommit. I see that he is listing Memphis, Indiana, Rutgers, & Texas as his final four for now. He does state that he may add another, but isn't expecting to. He mentions that Memphis is making a strong late run at him, and that Texas is "wing freindly". Rutgers has been there all along with IU before he originally committed.
  17. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 7, 2008 -> 10:31 AM) I had to LOL at this quote from Danny Green about Ty Lawson, "We’ve all been in his ear,” said junior Danny Green, Lawson’s roommate. “It’s like, ‘Ty, you’ve been out for a month. When are you going to come back? Stop being a girl and get back on the court already.’" I'm glad he did not listen and come back too early. He was clearly not 100% yet when he did return, (still not all the way back) coming back quicker would have lead to a half speed Ty for the tournament or worse.
  18. 2010 STUD Tristan Thompson is leaveing the east coast and has verbally committed to Texas.
  19. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 03:13 AM) So, in your expert opinion, which of these bubble teams are "in" and which are "out"? Ohio State OUT New Mexico IN Virginia Tech OUT Syracuse OUT Maryland IN Clemson clearlY IN not on the bubbLe at all Kentucky )OUT Texas A&M IN Mississippi IN W. Kentucky OUT Houston OUT Florida IN S. Illinois OUT St Joseph's IN Dayton OUT Creighton IN Pittsburgh CLEARLY IN NO BUBBLE Seton Hall NO CHANCE Kansas St. IN CLEARLY NO BUBBLE Baylor IN Oklahoma IN Nebraska NO CHANCE San Diego St. DON'T KNOW Miami FL IN UMass OUT Rhode Island OUT USC CLEARLY IN NOT A BUBBLE TEAM Arizona St IN Arizona IN Arkansas OUT Minnesota NO CHANCE Wright St. OUT Cleveland St. OUT Valparaiso OUT Illinois-Chicago OUT Nevada OUT Utah St. OUT
  20. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 09:23 AM) You're probably right about Minnesota, thats probably a stretch. I forgot about Wisconsin for some reason so i didnt realize i was giving them 6. I do believe after their win last night that Ohio State should get in however. That is the only tournament team they have beaten all year though. Florida & Syracuse are bubble teams theirself and might make the dance. Ohio State still has work to do in my opinion, . I think they will miss the dance. Minnesota has zero chance unless they win the big 11 tournament.
  21. QUOTE(JuiceCruz16 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 11:47 AM) Kenny Hall commits to Tennesee after the Kentucky game. Nice commit for Pearl, I know Duke coverted him big time. It seems like that Tennesee/Memphis game had a big impact for the Vols in more ways then one. Daniel West a 3 star point guard for 2008 from Michigan gave his verbal to Tennesee after taking his visit as well. Very productive time on top of the big win with these two guys coming aboard for Pearl.
  22. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 10:26 PM) Oh, just a blast. This is the most retarded team in history. At home they are one of the top 10 teams in basketball, on the road they are in the 300's. Young Knight was given a tough situation with his dad hanging it up how he did, but a 40+ lose shortly followed by a 50+ lose in a matter of a couple of weeks is not a good sign. Nice upset sandwiched in between though.
  23. Kenny Hall commits to Tennesee after the Kentucky game. Nice commit for Pearl, I know Duke coverted him big time.
  24. Wow I just saw that Patrick Patterson has a stress fracture and is lost for the year. Kentucky was snakebit all year and now this is the final nail in the coffin for their NCAA hopes. Tough break for the kid he was playing great.
  25. This is still very much in the rumor stage, much as the Gordan talking to IU was before he actually switched, but with Ebanks having the out clause in his LOI for a change in head coach the word is making the rounds that he has been in contact with Memphis and feeling them out as a fit. Nothing substantial but there is definatly smoke, we will have to wait and see if there is any fire with this one.
